Commit ff7bd212cb ("net: phy: micrel: fix divisor value for KSZ9031
phy skew") fixed the skew value divisor for the KSZ9031, but left the
code using the same divisor for the KSZ9021, which is incorrect.
The preceding commit c16e69f702 ("net: phy: micrel: add documentation
for Micrel KSZ90x1 binding") added the DTS documentation for the
KSZ90x1, changing it from the equivalent file in the Linux kernel to
correctly state that for this part the skew value is set in 120ps steps,
whereas the Linux documentation and driver continue to this day to use
the incorrect value of 200 that came from the original KSZ9021 datasheet
before it was corrected in revision 1.2 (Feb 2014).
This commit sorts out the resulting confusion in a consistent way by
making the following changes:
- Update the documentation to be clear about what the skew values mean,
in the same was as for the KSZ9031.
- Update the Micrel PHY driver to select the appropriate divisor for
both parts.
- Adjust all the device trees that state skew values for KSZ9021 PHYs to
use values based on 120ps steps instead of 200ps steps. This will result
in the same values being programmed into the skew registers as the
equivalent device trees in the Linux kernel do, where it incorrectly
uses 200ps steps (since that's where all these device trees were copied
from).

The DK1 and DK2 boards use the USB Type-C controller STUSB1600.
This patch updates:
- the device tree to add the I2C node in the DT
- the board stm32mp1 to probe this I2C device and use this controller
to check cable detection.
- the DWC2 driver to support a new dt property
"u-boot,force-b-session-valid" which forces B session and
device mode; it is a workaround because the VBUS sensing and
ID detection isn't available with stusb1600.

The 'u-boot,i2c-transaction-bytes' device tree property provides
information regarding number of bytes transferred by a device in a
single transaction.
This change is necessary to avoid hanging devices after soft reset.
One notable example is communication with MC34708 device:
1. Reset when communicating with MC34708 via I2C.
2. The u-boot (after reboot -f) tries to setup the I2C and then calls
force_idle_bus. In the same time MC34708 still has some data to be sent
(as it transfers data in 24 bits chunks).
3. The force_idle_bus() is not able to make the bus idle as 8 SCL
clocks may be not enough to have the full transmission.
4. We end up with I2C inconsistency with MC34708.
This PMIC device requires 24+ SCL cycles to make finish any pending I2C
transmission.

The Intel High-definition Audio is a newer-generation audio system which
provides for transfer of a large number of audio stream, each containing
up to 16 channels.
Add support for HDA as a library which can be used by other drivers.

At present it is possible to '#define DEBUG' at the top of a file which
causes all debug() statements in that file to become active. There is
currently no equivalent with logging, but this is a useful function.

Now that new SPI NOR layer uses stateless 4 byte opcodes by default,
don't enable SPI_FLASH_BAR. For SPI controllers that cannot support
4-byte addressing, (stm32_qspi.c, fsl_qspi.c, mtk_qspi.c, ich.c,
renesas_rpc_spi.c) add an imply clause to enable SPI_FLASH_BAR so as to
not break functionality.

U-Boot supports using TrueType fonts on the console, which is useful for
presenting a nice UI to users, e.g. for system recovery.

Currently on qemu-arm platforms environment is kept in RAM. Instead
use pflash device 1 to provide persistent environment support across
device reset.

This adds a driver for the FAN53555 family of regulators and wraps it
in a PMIC implementation.
While these devices support a 'normal' and 'suspend' mode (controlled
via an external pin) to switch between two programmable voltages, this
incarnation of the driver assumes that the device is always operating
in 'normal' mode.
Only setting/reading the programmed voltage is supported at this time
and the following device functionality remains unsupported:
- switching the selected voltage (via a GPIO)
- disabling the voltage output via software-control
This matches the functionality of the Linux driver.
Tested on a RK3399-Q7 (with 'option 5' devices): setting voltages from
the U-Boot shell and verifying output voltages on the board.

The original bootcount methods do not provide an interface to DM and
rely on a static configuration for I2C devices (e.g. bus, chip-addr,
etc. are configured through defines statically). On a modern system
that exposes multiple devices in a DTS-configurable way, this is less
than optimal and a interface to DM-based devices will be desirable.
This adds a simple driver that is DM-aware and configurable via DTS.
If ambiguous (i.e. multiple bootcount-devices are present) the
/chosen/u-boot,bootcount-device property can be used to select one
bootcount device.
Initially, this provides support for the following DM devices:
* RTC devices

In some cases it may be useful to be able to change the fdt we have been
using and use another one instead. For example, the TI platforms uses an
EEPROM to store board information and, based on the type of board,
different dtbs are used by the SPL. When DM_I2C is used, a first dtb must
be used before the I2C is initialized and only then the final dtb can be
selected.
To speed up the process and reduce memory usage, introduce a new function
fdtdec_setup_best_match() that re-use the DTBs loaded in memory by
fdtdec_setup() to select the best match.

K3 based AM654 devices has DDR memory subsystem that comprises
Synopys DDR controller, Synopsis DDR phy and wrapper logic to
intergrate these blocks into the device. This DDR subsystem
provides an interface to external SDRAM devices. Adding support
for the initialization of the external SDRAM devices by
configuring the DDRSS registers and using the buitin PHY
routines.

This patch adds ethernet support for the MIPS based Mediatek MT76xx SoCs
(e.g. MT7628 and MT7688), including a minimum setup of the integrated
switch. This driver is loosly based on the driver version included in

This patch adds support for enabling or disabling the lane swapping
(called "port mirroring" in PHY's CFG4 register) feature of the DP83867
TI's PHY device.
One use case is when bootstrap configuration enables this feature (because
of e.g. LED_0 wrong wiring) so then one needs to disable it in software
(at u-boot/Linux).

At present it is not possible to specify that a node should be used before
relocation (in U-Boot proper) without it also ending up in SPL and TPL

Add a way in configuration files (exlinux.conf for sysboot command)
to select a specific FIT configuration. The configuration is selected
with a string added after the FIT filename in the label "KERNEL" or
"LINUX", using the same format than bootm command:

This configuration string, beginning by '#', is directly appended
to bootm argument 1 after <kernel_addr_r>.

helping people easily test U-Boot on RISC-V.
The QEMU virt machine models a generic RISC-V virtual machine with
support for the VirtIO standard networking and block storage devices.
It has CLINT, PLIC, 16550A UART devices in addition to VirtIO and
it also uses device-tree to pass configuration information to guest
software. It implements RISC-V privileged architecture spec v1.10.
Both 32-bit and 64-bit builds are supported. Support is pretty much
preliminary, only booting to U-Boot shell with the UART driver on
a single core. Booting Linux is not supported yet.

In the section about Device Trees add a paragraph at the end that
clarifies how we decide of a tree is valid or not. We say that all
bindings must either be in the specification (link provided) or in our
device-tree-bindings directory. We say that most of these come from the
Linux Kernel and as such some design decisions are made for us already,
but that in most cases we wish to retain compatibility.

NAND flavors, like serial and parallel, have a lot in common and would
benefit to share code. Let's move raw (parallel) NAND specific code in a
raw/ subdirectory, to ease the addition of a core file in nand/ and the
introduction of a spi/ subdirectory specific to SPI NANDs.

K3 specific SoCs have a dedicated microcontroller for doing
resource management. Any HLOS/firmware on compute clusters should
load a firmware to this microcontroller before accessing any resource.
Adding support for loading this firmware.
After the K3 system controller got loaded with firmware and started
up it sends out a boot notification message through the secure proxy
facility using the TI SCI protocol. Intercept and receive this message
through the rproc start operation which will need to get invoked
explicitly after the firmware got loaded.

Devices from the TI K3 family of SoCs like the AM654x contain a Device
Management and Security Controller (SYSFW) that manages the low-level
device control (like clocks, resets etc) for the various hardware
modules present on the SoC. These device control operations are provided
to the host processor OS through a communication protocol called the TI
System Control Interface (TI SCI) protocol.
This patch adds a system reset driver that communicates to the system
controller over the TI SCI protocol for allowing to perform a system-
wide SoC reset.

Texas Instrument's System Control Interface (TI SCI) message protocol is
used in Texas Instrument's System on Chip (SoC) such as those in the K3
family AM654 SoC to communicate between various compute processors with
a central system controller entity.
The TI SCI message protocol provides support for management of various
hardware entities within the SoC. Add support driver to allow
communication with system controller entity within the SoC using the
mailbox client.
This is mostly derived from the TI SCI driver in Linux located at
drivers/firmware/ti_sci.c.

arch/arm/Makefile references armv5 for backwards compatibility with
older compilers. This patch removes those references to armv5,
since by now newer compilers are required which should have armv7
support enabled.
The Makefile also also has a list of options for mtune, but the
entry for CONFIG_CPU_V7A is empty, so this patch tunes the
CPU_V7A architecture to generic-armv7-a.

There is no need to keep a separate coreboot_fb.dtsi since now we
have a generic coreboot payload dts.
While we are here, this also remove the out-of-date description in
the documentation regarding to coreboot framebuffer driver with
U-Boot loaded as a payload from coreboot. As the testing result with
QEMU 2.5.0 shows, the driver just works like a charm.

Currently building U-Boot as the coreboot payload requires user
to change the build configuration for a specific board during
menuconfig process. This uses the board's native device tree
to configure the hardware. For example, the device tree provides
PCI address range for the PCI host controller and U-Boot will
re-program all PCI devices' BAR to be within this range. In order
to make sure we don't mess up the hardware, we should guarantee
the range matches what coreboot programs the chipset.
But we really should make the coreboot payload support easier.
Just like EFI payload, we can create a generic coreboot payload
for all x86 boards as well. The payload is configured to include
as many generic drivers as possible. All stuff that touches low
level initialization are not allowed as such is the coreboot's
responsibility. Platform specific drivers (like gpio, spi, etc)
are not included.

Add u-boot,off-on-delay-us for fixed regulator.
Depends on board design, the gpio regulator sometimes
connects with a big capacitance. When need to off, then
on the regulator, if there is no enough delay,
the voltage does not drop to 0, so introduce this
property to handle such case.

Compressed images should have their compression property
set to "none" if U-Boot should leave them compressed.
This is especially the case for compressed ramdisks that
should be uncompressed by the kernel only.

This patch implement reading blocks form selected device with
LBA addressing.
Corresponding command on workstation is:

While we support reading more than one blocks per K_FW_LBA_READ_10
request, rkdeveloptool and original rockchip tool do perform
chunk reads limiting the maximum size per chunk far lower
than max int values.

At present all emulated sandbox pci devices must be present in the
device tree in order to be used. The real world pci uclass driver
supports pci device driver matching, and we should add such support

Switch to the distro boot for UniPhier platform.
- Remove the environment vairalbes used to load images from raw
block devices.
- Keep the command to download images via tftp. This will be
useful to boot the kernel when no valid kernel image is ready
yet in the file system.
- Use root.cpio.gz instead of root.cpio.uboot because we always know
the file size of the init ramdisk; it is loaded via either a file
system or network.
- Rename fit_addr_r to kernel_addr_r, which the distro command
checks to get the load address of FIT image.

Kconfig symbol for AVB bootloader-dependent operations, so it's possible
to build libavb separately. AVB bootloader-dependent operations include:

The Linux kernel moved to sphinx-based documentation and got rid of the
DocBook based documentation quite a while ago. Hence, the DocBook
documentation for U-Boot should be converted as well.
To achieve this, import the necessary files from Linux v4.17, and
convert the current DocBook documentation (three files altogether) to
sphinx/reStructuredText.
For now, all old DocBook documentation was merged into a single
handbook, tentatively named "U-Boot Hacker Manual".
For some source files, the documentation style was changed to comply
with kernel-doc; no functional changes were applied.

To let the full U-Boot know where it was booted from (i.e. which of
the entries in /chosen/u-boot,spl-boot-order' contained a valid
image), we define (and document) /chosen/u-boot,spl-boot-device as the
property that could/should automatically be injected by SPL.
This commit only contains a documentation change, which documents the
new property and the intended usage.

Add support for loading U-Boot on the Broadcom 7445 SoC. This port
assumes Broadcom's BOLT bootloader is acting as the second stage

Support a default memory bank, specified in reg, as well as
board-specific memory banks in subtree board-id nodes.
This allows memory information to be provided in the device tree,
rather than hard-coded in, which will make it simpler to handle
similar devices with different memory banks, as the board-id values
or masks can be used to match devices.

To build U-Boot on a Nyan Big Chromebook the docs outline adjusting the Tegra124
defined CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE but this has since been moved to individual config
files. We should have the default required for U-Boot chain loading on the
chromebook as the default CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE and update the docs to remove
this now non required step.

At present the EFI application and payload support codes in the x86
directory is distributed in a hybrid way. For example, the Kconfig
options for both app and payload are in arch/x86/lib/efi/Kconfig,
but the source codes in the same directory get built only for
CONFIG_EFI_STUB.
This refactors the codes by consolidating all the EFI support codes
into arch/x86/cpu/efi, just like other x86 targets.

Currently both pirq_reg_to_linkno() and pirq_linkno_to_reg() assume
consecutive PIRQ routing control registers. But this is not always
the case on some platforms. Introduce a new device tree property
intel,pirq-regmap to describe how the PIRQ routing register offset
is mapped to the link number and adjust the irq router driver to
utilize the mapping.

As README.x86 already mentions, there are two SPI flashes mounted
on Intel Cougar Canyon 2 board, called SPI-0 and SPI-1 respectively.
SPI-0 stores the flash descriptor and the ME firmware. SPI-1 stores
the actual BIOS image which is U-Boot. Building a single image with
both ME firmware and U-Boot does not make sense.
This also describes the exact flash location where the u-boot.rom
should be programmed in the documentation.

As part of the main conversion a few files were missed. These files had
additional whitespace after the '*' and before the SPDX tag and my
previous regex was too strict. This time I did a grep for all SPDX tags
and then filtered out anything that matched the correct styles.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

As of clang-5.0, things have changed a bit. First, we cannot
automatically guess -target values as if we do not pass one with CC then
cc-option will fail. Second, to disable movt/movw relocations the
argument has become -mno-movt.
Related to the target part, we cannot use arm-none-eabi as that ends up
being too generic of an ARM target for things like say rpi_3_32b to
work.

We only use coreboot as a target on x86 platforms, since on ARM platforms
U-Boot always runs as the primary boot loader. Rename the coreboot-x86
platform to reflect this.

At present two environment variables 'e820data'/'e820info' are required
to boot a VxWorks x86 kernel, but this is superfluous. The offset of
these two tables are actually at a fixed offset from the kernel memory
base address and we can provide the kernel memory base address to U-Boot
via only one variable 'vx_phys_mem_base'.
Note as it name indicates, the physical address should be provided.

The u-boot-ivt.img.log file contains 0x prefixes in the HAB Blocks line,
while the SPL.log does not. For consistency, and to make it easier to
extract and put into a .csf file for use with NXP's code signing tool,
add 0x prefixes here.

README.efi describes two different concepts:
* U-Boot exposing the UEFI API
* U-Boot running on top of UEFI.
This patch splits the document in two.
Religious references are removed.
The separation of the concepts makes sense before detailing the internals
of U-Boot exposing the UEFI API in a future patch.

The original text is from the time that the config options were not
converted to Kconfig.
After the conversion to Kconfig only CONFIG_SECURE_BOOT and
CONFIG_CMD_DEKBLOB need to be selected by the user.
The other config options are automatically selected by the Kconfig
logic.

When functions return an error it propagates up the stack to the point
where it is reported. Often the error code provides enough information
about the root cause of the error that this is obvious what went wrong.
However in some cases the error may be hard to trace. For example if a
driver uses several devices to perform an operation, it may not be
obvious which one failed.
Add a log_ret() macro to help with this. This can be used to wrap any
error-return value. The logging system will then output a log record when
the original error is generated, making it easy to trace the call stack
of the error.
This macro can significantly impact code size, so its use is controlled
by a Kconfig option, which is enabled for sandbox.

It's mostly obvious, except that QEMU is annoying and requires an
explicit '-cpu cortex-a57' (or some other 64-bit core) to actually run
in 64-bit mode.
While at it, remove the references to setting the ARCH environment
variable; that is not used in U-Boot.

This patch extends pmic_bind_children prefix matching. In addition to
the node name the property regulator-name is used while trying to match
prefixes. This allows assigning different drivers to regulator nodes
named regulator@1 and regulator@10 for example.
I have discarded the idea of using other properties then regulator-name
as I do not see any benefit in using property compatible or even
regulator-compatible. Of course I am open to change this if there are
good reasons to do so.

Synopsys HSDK clock controller generates and supplies clocks to various
controllers and peripherals within the SoC.
Each clock has assigned identifier and client device tree nodes can use
this identifier to specify the clock which they consume. All available
clocks are defined as preprocessor macros in the
dt-bindings/clock/snps,hsdk-cgu.h header and can be used in device
tree sources.

The reset circuitry in the RK3399 only resets 'almost all logic' when
a software reset is performed. To make our software maintenance
easier in the future, we want to have the option (controlled by a DTS
property) to force all reset causes other than a power-on reset to
trigger a power-on reset via a GPIO trigger.
This adds the necessary support to the rk3399-puma (i.e. RK3399-Q7)
board-support and the documentation for the new property
(sysreset-gpio) within the /config-node.

For the RK3188, the BROM will attempt to load up the first stage
image (SPL for the RK3188) in two steps: first 1KB to offset 0x800
in the SRAM and then the remainder to offset 0xc00 in the SRAM.
It always enters at 0x804, though.
With this changeset, the RK3188 boot removes the TPL (stub) stage and
builds a single SPL binary that utilizes the early back-to-bootrom via
the boot0-hook.
Consequently, the passing of the saved boot params via pmu->os_reg[2]
is also removed.

associated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) which produces
an output which is proportional to the SOC temperature.

Up to now we depended on an exported variable to build u-boot.rom.
We should be able to specify it in the configuration file, too.
With this patch this becomes possible using the new Kconfig option
CONFIG_BUILD_ROM.
This option depends on CONFIG_X86 and is selected in
qemu-x86_defconfig and qemu-x86_64_defconfig.

The regulator bindings state that regulator prefixes are allowd to be
in upper or lower case. However pmic_bind_children from pmic_uclass uses
strncmp to compare DT node name against prefix. This comparison is case
sensitive hence the regulator driver prefix case matters.

u-boot can be embedded within a FIT image with multiple DTBs. It then
selects at run-time which one is best suited for the platform.
Use the same principle here for the SPL: put the DTBs in a FIT image,
compress it (LZO, GZIP, or no compression) and append it at the end of the
SPL.

CONFIG_FIT_EMBED might be confused with CONFIG_OF_EMBED, rename it
MULTI_DTB_FIT as it is able to get a DTB from a FIT image containing
multiple DTBs. Also move the option to the Kconfig dedicated to the DTS
options and create a README for this feature.

It is often desirable to configure the spl-boot-order (i.e. the order
that SPL probes devices to find the FIT image containing a full U-Boot)
such that it contains 'the same device the SPL stage was booted from'
early on. To support this, we introduce the 'same-as-spl' specifier
for the spl-boot-order property.
This commit adds:
- documentation for the new board_spl_was_booted_from() function that
individual SoCs/boards should provide, if they can determine where
the SPL was booted from
- implements the new board_spl_was_booted_from() stub function
- adds support for handling the 'same-as-spl' specifier and calling
into the per-SoC/per-board support code.
This also updates the documentation for the 'u-boot,spl-boot-order'
property.

Since the size of SPL can't be exceeded 0x8000 bytes in RK3288,
it is not possible add new SPL features like Falcon mode or etc.
So add TPL stage so-that adding new features to SPL is possible.

This driver is adapted from linux drivers/reset/reset-stm32.c
It's compatible with STM32 F4/F7/H7 SoCs.
This driver doesn't implement .of_match as it's binded
by MFD RCC driver.
To add support for each SoC family, a SoC's specific
include/dt-binfings/mfd/stm32xx-rcc.h file must be added.
This patch only includes stm32h7-rcc.h dedicated for STM32H7 SoCs.
Other SoCs support will be added in the future.

This driver implements basic clock setup, only clock gating
is implemented.
This driver doesn't implement .of_match as it's binded
by MFD RCC driver.
Files include/dt-bindings/clock/stm32h7-clks.h and
doc/device-tree-bindings/clock/st,stm32h7-rcc.txt
will be available soon in a kernel tag, as all the
bindings have been acked by Rob Herring [1].

The main difference between Pro4 and PXs2/LD6b is the Denali NAND
IP version. This is now distinguished by DT. Merge the two defconfig
files into uniphier_v7_defconfig.

Writing prepared FDT to persistent storage should be possible in
scripts. Create environment variables containing address and size
of the updated FDT. Scripts can use these variables after running
'spl export fdt ...' command to write the new blob to persistent
storage.

NVM Express (NVMe) is a register level interface that allows host
software to communicate with a non-volatile memory subsystem. This
interface is optimized for enterprise and client solid state drives,
typically attached to the PCI express interface.
This adds a U-Boot driver support of devices that follow the NVMe
standard [1] and supports basic read/write operations.
Tested with a 400GB Intel SSD 750 series NVMe card with controller
id 8086:0953.

This adds a DRAM controller driver for the RK3368 and places it in
drivers/ram/rockchip (where the other DM-enabled DRAM controller
drivers for rockchip devices should also be moved eventually).
At this stage, only the following feature-set is supported:
- DDR3
- 32-bit configuration (i.e. fully populated)
- dual-rank (i.e. no auto-detection of ranks)
- DDR3-1600K speed-bin
This driver expects to run from a TPL stage that will later return to
the RK3368 BROM. It communicates with later stages through the
os_reg2 in the pmugrf (i.e. using the same mechanism as Rockchip's DDR
init code).
Unlike other DMC drivers for RK32xx and RK33xx parts, the required
timings are calculated within the driver based on a target frequency
and a DDR3 speed-bin (only the DDR3-1600K speed-bin is support at this
time).
The RK3368 also has the DDRC0_CON0 (DDR ch. 0, control-register 0)
register for controlling the operation of its (single-channel) DRAM
controller in the GRF block. This provides for selecting DDR3, mobile
DDR modes, and control low-power operation.
As part of this change, DDRC0_CON0 is also added to the GRF structure
definition (at offset 0x600).

The back-to-bootrom option is rather unfortunately named
CONFIG_ROCKCHIP_SPL_BACK_TO_BOOTROM
instead of
CONFIG_SPL_ROCKCHIP_BACK_TO_BOOTROM
To make is selectable through CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(ROCKCHIP_BACK_TO_BOOTROM),
we need to rename it. At the same time, we introduce a TPL_ variant of
the option to give us finer-grained control over when it should be used.
This change is motivated by our RK3368 boot process, which returns to
the boot ROM only from the TPL stage, but not from the SPL stage.

This patch provides support in u-boot for renaming GPT
partitions. The renaming is accomplished via new 'gpt swap'
and 'gpt rename' commands.
The 'swap' mode returns an error if no matching partition names
are found, or if the number of partitions with one name does not equal
the number with the second name. The 'rename' variant always
succeeds as long as a partition with the provided number exists.
Rewriting the partition table has the side-effect that all partitions
end up with "msftdata" flag set. The reason is that partition type
PARTITION_BASIC_DATA_GUID is hard-coded in the gpt_fill_pte()
function. This does not appear to cause any harm.

In order to read the GPT, modify the partition name strings, and then
write out a new GPT, the disk GUID is needed. While there is an
existing accessor for the partition UUIDs, there is none yet for the
disk GUID.

The existing partitions-list parsing in cmd/gpt.c passes a value
from gpt_default() to set_gpt_info() that README.gpt suggests
should begin with 'partitions='. Partition-list strings should
in fact begin with 'uuid_disk', as otherwise the call from
set_gpt_info() to extract_val() to find 'uuid_disk' will fail.
Change README.gpt accordingly.

In case we're building for Intel Edison, we must have 4096 bytes of
zeroes in the beginning on u-boot.bin. This is done in
board/intel/edison/config.mk.
First run sets hardware_id environment variable which is read from
System Controller Unit (SCU).
Serial number (serial# environment variable) is generated based on eMMC
CID.
MAC address on USB network interface is unique to the board but kept the
same all over the time.
Set mac address from U-Boot using following scheme:
OUI = 02:00:86
next 3 bytes of MAC address set from eMMC serial number
This allows to have a unique mac address across reboot and flashing.

In the source_file_format.txt file we talk about how to construct a
valid FIT image. While it already says to look at the source for the
full list, add kernel_noload to the explicit list of types. This is
arguably the most important type to use as most often we are including a
kernel that will run from wherever it is loaded into memory and execute.
This for example, allows you to create a single FIT image for Linux that
can be used on both OMAP and i.MX devices as the kernel will not need to
be moved in memory.

FMC is able to manage 2 SDRAM banks, but the current driver
implementation is only able to manage the first SDRAM bank.
Even if only bank2 is used, some bank1 registers must be
configured.

It has been a while since ARM Trusted Firmware supported UniPhier SoC
family. U-Boot SPL was intended as a temporary loader that runs in
secure world. It is a maintenance headache to support two different
boot mechanisms. Secure firmware is realm of ARM Trusted Firmware
and now U-Boot only serves as a non-secure boot loader for UniPhier
ARMv8 SoCs.

CONFIG_SYS_FSL_ESDHC_FORCE_VSELECT is not the correct method
to set I/O to 1.8. To boards that does not support vqmmc-supply,
use vs18_enable in fsl_esdhc_cfg. If regulator is supported,
use fixed 1.8V regulator for vqmmc-supply.

Currently, Marvell Armada8k development board use 3 different
defconfigs:
mvebu_db-88f7040-nand_defconfig
mvebu_db-88f7040_defconfig
mvebu_db-88f8040_defconfig
Having 3 different defconfigs makes maintenance difficult.
This patch removes the defconfigs mentioned above and introduce
a new defconfig which represents the Armada8k family.
NOTE:
In order not to break automatic tools compilation,
a default device-tree is set in the defconfig (armada-8040-db).
However, when compiling u-boot, the user MUST explicitly export
the DEVICE_TREE for the requested board because using A80x0
device-tree on A70x0 might break the device.
For more information, refer to "doc/README.marvell" (intoduced
in this patch).

AVR32 is gone. It's already more than two years for no support in Buildroot,
even longer there is no support in GCC (last version is heavily patched 4.2.4).
Linux kernel v4.12 got rid of it (and v4.11 didn't build successfully).
There is no good point to keep this support in U-Boot either.

We need to go further and convert to Kconfig, but it

Most Chromebooks support chain-loading U-Boot but instructions are
somewhat scattered. Add a README to hold this information within the
U-Boot tree. Also add the standard developer keys to simplify the
instructions, since they are small.
For now this only supports nyan-big.

At present lpe/lpss-sio/scc FSP properties are all boolean, but in
fact for "enable-lpe" it has 3 possible options. This adds macros
for these options and change the property from a boolean type to
an integer type, and change their names to explicitly indicate what
the property is really for.

Rather than using CMD_JFFS2 for both the filesystem and its command, we
should have a separate option for each. This allows us to enable JFFS2
support without the command, if desired, which reduces U-Boot's size
slightly.

So far we were not using the FIT image format to its full potential:
The SPL FIT loader was just loading the first image from the /images
node plus one of the listed DTBs.
Now with the refactored loader code it's easy to load an arbitrary
number of images in addition to the two mentioned above.
As described in the FIT image source file format description, iterate
over all images listed at the "loadables" property in the configuration
node and load every image at its desired location.
This allows to load any kind of images:
- firmware images to execute before U-Boot proper (for instance
ARM Trusted Firmware (ATF))
- firmware images for management processors (SCP, arisc, ...)
- firmware images for devices like WiFi controllers
- bit files for FPGAs
- additional configuration data
- kernels and/or ramdisks
The actual usage of this feature would be platform and/or board specific.
Also update the FIT documentation to mention the new SPL feature and
provide an example .its file to demonstrate its features.

While in theory this value could be used in places outside of "omap5"
(such as OMAP4), we only make use of it today in OMAP5, so place the
Kconfig entry there. Given that Kconfig lets us provide a default, we
drop CONFIG_DEFAULT_OMAP_RESET_TIME_MAX_USEC entirely. The contents of
doc/README.omap-reset-time make a good help entry, so adjust them
slightly and delete the file. Move the comment about range to where we
use the value now, and have Kconfig enforce the upper bound.
