This code is never enabled, last board that used it was ELPPC which
was removed some 5 years ago, so just remove this code altogether.

We generate a number of helper inline functions to make accesses easier.
However not all permutations of each function will be used and clang
will warn about unused ones. Decorate all of them with __maybe_unused
because of this.

Do not re-read the HW address from the EEPROM on every start of
transfer, otherwise the user will not be able to adjust ethaddr
as needed. Read the address only once, when the card is detected.

Instead of always calling rtl8139_eeprom_delay() with priv->ioaddr,
call it with priv and let the function access priv->ioaddr. This
reduces code duplication and has no impact, since the compiler will

Introduce rtl8139_pdata, which is a super-structure around eth_device
and tracks per-device state, here the device IO address, PCI BDF, RX
and TX ring position. Pass this structure around instead of the old
non-DM eth_device in preparation for DM conversion.

These macros depended on the dev variable being declared wherever
they were used. This is wrong and will not work with DM anyway, so
pass only the PCI BFD into these macros, which fixes the dependency
and prepares them for DM support as well.

ti_phy_init function was allocated to the DP83867 PHY. This function
name is to generic for a specific PHY. The function can be moved to a
TI specific file that can register all TI PHYs that are defined in the
defconfig. The ti_phy_init file will contain all TI PHYs initialization
so that only phy_ti_init can be called from the framework.
In addition to the above the config flag for the DP83867 needs to be changed
in the Kconfig and dependent defconfig files. The config flag that was
used for the DP83867 was also generic in nature so a more specific
config flag for the DP83867 was created.

There are devices accesible through mdio clause-45, such as
retimers, that do not have PMA or PCS blocks.
This patch adds MDIO_MMD_VEND1 on the list of device addresses
where phyid is searched. Previous order of devices was kept.

This is a WAR for DHCP failure after rebooting from the L4T kernel. The
r8169.c kernel driver is setting bit 19 of the rt816x HW register 0xF0,
which goes by FuncEvent and MISC in various driver source/datasheets.
That bit is called RxDv_Gated_En in the r8169.c kernel driver. Clear it
here at the end of probe to ensure that U-Boot can get an IP assigned
via DHCP.

When an eTSEC is configured to use TBI, configuration of the
TBI is done through the MIIM registers for that eTSEC.
For example, if a TBI interface is required on eTSEC2, then
the MIIM registers starting at offset 0x2_5520 are used to
configure it.

The current code accesses eTSEC registers using physical
address directly, it's not correct, though no problem on
current platforms. It won't work on platforms, which does
not support 1:1 virtual-physical address map.

While the R40 uses a different register for EMAC clock configuration
than other chips, the register has a very similar layout. Reuse the
existing bitfield definitions in this file, since they match.
This allows the driver to compile on the H6 platform, where the
CCM_GMAC_CTRL definitions are not present.

Instead of reading out the entire FIFO and possibly overwriting U-Boot
memory, read out one packet per recv call, pass it to U-Boot network
stack, and repeat. It is however necessary to cache RXFC value, because
reading that one out clears it.

There is only one chip ID in the table of chip IDs for this chip.
Read out the chip ID instead and mask off the last "revision" bit
to check the chip ID, this works for all chips in the family. Then
drop the chip ID passing around.

The packet status and length information should be extracted from the
FIFO per-packet. Adjust the code such that it reads the packet meta

Replace combination of malloc()+memset() with calloc() as the behavior
is exactly the same and the amount of code is reduced. Moreover, remove
printf() in the fail path, as it is useless, and return proper -ENOMEM
return code.

We should not use typedefs in U-Boot. They cannot be used as forward
declarations which means that header files must include the full header to
access them.
Drop the typedef and rename the struct to remove the _s suffix which is
now not useful.
This requires quite a few header-file additions.

As per Linux's driver, ID_MODE_DIS is only set when the PHY interface is
RGMII. Don't enable it for the rest of setups.
This has been seen to misconfigure RPi4's PHY when booting Linux.

For dual ethernet controllers, the HW design may connect ETH phys to
one MDIO ports. So two different ethernet drivers have to share MDIO bus.
Since two ethernet drivers are independent, we can't ensure their probe
order.
To resolve this problem, introduce an eth phy generic driver and uclass.
After eth-uclass binds, we search the mdio node and binds the phy node
with the eth-phy-generic driver.
When one eth driver get its phy device, the parent of phy device will
probe prior than phy device. So this ensure the eth driver ownes the
MDIO bus will be probed before using its MDIO.

In RGMII mode the 10Mbps link speed is supported only when CPSW2G MAC SL is
configured for External Control ("in band") mode

We can configure the clock output in the device tree. Disable the
hardcoded one in here. This is highly board-specific and should have
never been enabled in the PHY driver.
If bisecting shows that this commit breaks your board it probably
depends on the clock output of your Atheros AR8035 PHY. Please have a
look at doc/device-tree-bindings/net/phy/atheros.txt. You need to set
"clk-out-frequency = <125000000>" because that value was the hardcoded
value until this commit.

Add support for configuring the CLK_25M pin as well as the RGMII I/O
voltage by the device tree.
By default the AT803x PHYs outputs the 25MHz clock of the XTAL input.
But this output can also be changed by software to other frequencies.
This commit introduces a generic way to configure this output.
Also the PHY supports different RGMII I/O voltages: 1.5V, 1.8V and 2.5V.
An internal LDO is able to provide 1.5V (default) and 1.8V. The 2.5V
option needs an external supply voltage. This commit adds support to
switch the internal LDO to 1.8V.

Debug register 5 contains TX_CLK DELAY at bit 8 and reserved values at
the other bit positions, just like the other PHYs in the family do.
Therefore, it is not necessary to hardcode the reserved values, but
instead simply follow the read-modify-write procedure from the common
function.

To eliminate any doubts about the out-of-reset value of the PHY, that
the driver previously relied on.
If bisecting shows that this commit breaks your board you probably have
a wrong PHY interface mode. You probably want the
PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_RGMII_RXID or PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_RGMII_ID mode.

Delete the extraneous write to debug reg 5 that enables Tx delay
When the driver was originally introduced in commit "6027384a phylib:
Add Atheros AR8035 GETH PHY support", the Tx delay was being
unconditionally enabled.
Then during "2ec4d10b phy: atheros: add support for RGMII_ID, RGMII_TXID
and RGMII_RXID", the author did not notice that code for enabling Tx
delay code was already. Therefore, the if condition for Tx delay has
always been useless for this PHY since this commit introduced it.
Prior to this patch, every AR8035 PHY in U-boot had Tx delay enabled.
After this patch, only those who define the interface as RGMII_TXID or
RGMII_ID will. This is to be expected, but will nonetheless break the
setups of those who didn't know they rely on Tx delay implicitly.

Commit 69529c9120 ("net: pcnet: Switch to PCI memory access")
switched from PCI IO access to PCI memory access without updating
the I/O primitives. Contrary to SH, the primitives for memory
access and IO access are implemented differently. Thus doing
memory access with IO port primitives breaks the driver on
MIPS Malta board.

Note that this does introduce considerable amount of duplication in
the standalone EEPROM example, however that one has to be rewritten

The rtl8139 driver is derived from Etherboot driver, which is in
turn derived from Linux 8139too driver added in Linux 2.2.18pre14.
An undocumented change in Linux 2.4.10.2 added a new field to the
driver, MODULE_LICENSE("GPL"); . According to current Linux kernel
licensing rules, Documentation/process/license-rules.rst, quote:
"GPL" Module is licensed under GPL version 2. This
does not express any distinction between
GPL-2.0-only or GPL-2.0-or-later. The exact
license information can only be determined
via the license information in the
corresponding source files.
And since the code does not contain any "future" clause, the tag
is therefore GPL-2.0 only.

This hardware reset and reset-wait implementation was twice in the
driver, factor it out into a separate function. This really should
use wait_for_bit() eventually and return -ETIMEDOUT, but thus far,
handling of any of this is missing from the driver. This must be
added later. Thus far, no functional change.

The DMA may attempt to write a DMA descriptor in the ring while it is
being updated. By writing the DMA descriptor buffer address to 0, it
is assured the DMA will not use such a buffer and the buffer can be
updated without any interference.

This patch prevents an issue where the RX packet might have been
accessed by the CPU, which now has cached data from the packet in
the caches and possibly various write buffers, and these data may
be evicted from the caches into the DRAM while the buffer is also
written by the DMA.
By invalidating the buffer after the CPU accessed it and before the
DMA populates the buffer, it is assured that the buffer will not be
corrupted.

The current code polls the RX desciptor ring for new packets by reading
the RX descriptor status. This works by accident, as the RX descriptors
are often in non-cacheable memory. However, the driver does support use
of RX descriptors in cacheable memory.
This patch adds a missing RX descriptor invalidation, which assures the
CPU will read a fresh copy of the RX descriptor instead of a cached one.

Currently the code only flushes the first RX descriptor, not every entry
in the RX descriptor ring. Fix this, to make sure the DMA engine can pick

This code programs the next descriptor in the TX descriptor ring into
the hardware as the last valid TX descriptor. The problem is that if
the currenty descriptor is the last one in the array, the code will
not wrap around correctly and use TX descriptor 0 again, but instead
will use TX descriptor at address right past the TX descriptor ring,
which is the first descriptor in the RX ring.
Fix this by adding the necessary wrap-around.

The RX descriptor field 3 should contain only OWN and BUF1V bits before
being used for receiving data by the DMA engine. However, right now, if
the descriptor was already used for receiving data and is being cleared,
the field 3 is only modified and the aforementioned two bits are ORRed
into the field. This could lead to a residual dirty bits being left in
the field 3 from previous transfer, and it generally does. Fully set the
field 3 instead to clear those residual dirty bits.

These macros guard one switch-case statement, which grows mips malta
by some 20 bytes if debug is enabled, and even less if it is not. To
make the code simpler, just support all the NICs and be done with it.

Probe the FMan MACs based on the device tree while
retaining the legacy code/functionality.
One notable change introduced here is that, for DM_ETH,
the name of the interfaces is corrected to the fmX-macY
format, that avoids the referral to the MAC block names
which were incorrect for FMan v3 devices (i.e. DTSEC,
TGEC) and had weird formatting (i.e. FM1@DTSEC6, FM1@TGEC1).
The legacy code is left unchanged in this respect.

When CONFIG_DM_ETH is enabled DPAA2 network interfaces will now probe
based on DTS nodes with the "fsl,qoriq-mc-dpmac" compatible.
In this case, transform the ldpaa_eth driver into a UCLASS_ETH driver
and reuse the _open()/_tx()/_stop() functions already inplemented.
For the moment, the ldpaa_eth driver will support both configurations:
with or without CONFIG_DM_ETH enabled. Any 'struct eth_device' occurrence
now has a matching 'struct udevice' made mutually exclusive based on the
state of CONFIG_DM_ETH.

mt7531 is a 7-ports switch with 5 embedded giga phys, and uses the same
MAC design of mt7530. The cpu port6 supports SGMII only. The cpu port5
supports RGMII or SGMII in different model.
mt7531 is connected to mt7622 via both RGMII and SGMII interfaces.
In this patch, mt7531 cpu port5 or port6 is configured to maximum
capability to align CPU MAC setting.
The dts has been committed in the commit 6efa450565 ("arm: dts:
mediatek: add ethernet and sgmii dts node for mt7622")

Not all IPs have private MDIO bus and MDIO bus should be shared between
several IPs. In past one patch tried to implement it
(https://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2018-February/319285.html)
in pretty raw way but it is not the cleanest solution.
This patch is just taking the part of that solution to be able to handle it
over releases without conflicts.

Add cache flush to zynq_gem_free_pkt. This is necessary
because some net routines would modify this buffer in place.
The cache_invalidate in the zynq_gem_recv function would cause
the modifications to the buffer to overwrite the DMA from the GEM,
if cache coherency is not enabled in the GEM, the next time the
buffer is in use.
Flushing the cache when the buffer is no longer in use by the
net functions ensures that the GEM DMA is going to take place
into a clean buffer.

on Rx internal delay by default and the u-boot does not

"rgmii-txid" mode and the reception does not work.
Changing the RGMII mode to internal delay here ensures that
device tree fix-ups for the PHY connection type turn on both
Tx and Rx internal delay in Linux.

The PHY models of the Marvell 88E151x series are not reliably
distinguishable by their uid / PHY identifiers.
The 88E1510, 88E1512, 88E1514 and 88E1518 all have the same OUI and
model number and bits 3:0 in the PHY Identifier 2 (Page 0, Reg 3) are
described as HW revision number, but both 88E1510 and 88E1518 PHYs were
observed with the same HW rev number (1).
Before commit 83cfbeb0df ("net: phy: Fix mask so that we can identify
Marvell 88E1518"), the 88E151x were detected because the HW revision
bits were masked from the uid. After that change, 88E1510/12/18 were all
detected as 88E1518 and the 88E1510 specific code was no longer run.
I modified the mask to again ignore all four HW revision bits, removed
the 88E1510 specific code (board-specific LED/INTn setup), which was not
called since late 2016 anyway and renamed the config function and
phy_driver struct to the better fitting 88e151x.
The uid and mask bits 3:0 are now again the same as in the Linux kernel.

This patch adds ability to switch beetween two PHY SGMII modes.
Some hardware, for example, FPGA IP designs may use 6-wire mode
which enables differential SGMII clock to MAC.

Commit 27c3f70f3b ("net: phy: Increase link up delay in
genphy_update_link()") increased the per-iteration waiting time from
1ms to 50ms, without adjusting the timeout counter. This lead to the
timeout increasing from the typical 4 seconds to over three minutes.
Adjust the timeout counter evaluation by that factor of 50 to bring the
timeout back to the intended value.

Add NC-SI to the usual phy handling. This makes two notable changes:
- Somewhat similar to a fixed phy, phy_connect() will create an NC-SI
phy if CONFIG_PHY_NCSI is defined.
- An early return is added to phy_read() and phy_write() to handle a
case like the NC-SI phy which does not define a bus.

This introduces support for the NC-SI protocol, modelled as a phy driver
for other ethernet drivers to consume.
NC-SI (Network Controller Sideband Interface) is a protocol to manage a
sideband connection to a proper network interface, for example a BMC
(Baseboard Management Controller) sharing the NIC of the host system.
Probing and configuration occurs by communicating with the "remote" NIC
via NC-SI control frames (Ethernet header 0x88f8).
This implementation is roughly based on the upstream Linux
implementation[0], with a reduced feature set and an emphasis on getting
a link up as fast as possible rather than probing the full possible
topology of the bus.
The current phy model relies on the network being "up", sending NC-SI
command frames via net_send_packet() and receiving them from the
net_loop() loop (added in a following patch).
The ncsi-pkt.h header[1] is copied from the Linux kernel for consistent
field definitions.

Driver probe function is called again and again in case of error.

On Xilinx ZynqMP revA board initial value of PHYCR register is 0x5448 which
means FORCE_LINK_GOOD is already setup. Origin code was doing write but the
new code is doing read/modify/write and keep this bit untouched. That's why
ethernet stop to work.
The patch is cleaning this bit when PHYCR value is composed.
Tested on Xilinx zcu102-revA and zcu104-rev1.0 boards.

flush_dcache_range() expects unsigned long in the arguments. Here u32
variable is unable to hold the higher address value when ddr mapped
to higher addresses & flushing lower address dchache range instead
which is unmapped causing to crash.

The implementation of dma_map_single() and dma_unmap_single() is
exactly the same for all the architectures that support them.
Factor them out to <linux/dma-mapping.h>, and make all drivers to
include <linux/dma-mapping.h> instead of <asm/dma-mapping.h>.
If we need to differentiate them for some architectures, we can
move the generic definitions to <asm-generic/dma-mapping.h>.
Add some comments to the helpers. The concept is quite similar to
the DMA-API of Linux kernel. Drivers are agnostic about what is
going on behind the scene. Just call dma_map_single() before the
DMA, and dma_unmap_single() after it.

At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.
Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

At present devres.h is included in all files that include dm.h but few
make use of it. Also this pulls in linux/compat which adds several more
headers. Drop the automatic inclusion and require files to include devres

The Broadcom GENET Ethernet MACs are used in several MIPS based SoCs
and in the Broadcom 2711/2838 SoC used on the Raspberry Pi 4.
There is no publicly available documentation, so this driver is based
on the Linux driver. Compared to that the queue management is
drastically simplified, also we only support version 5 of the IP and
RGMII connections between MAC and PHY, as used on the RPi4.

The LS1028A SoC is special in the handling of the MAC addresses. We need
to write to the IERB version of the PSIPMAR0/1 register. This value will
be sampled into the corresponding port PSIPMAR0/1 register if the PCI

Passing 0 to PHY connect used to trigger a MDIO scan due to a bug fixed in
the meantime. It's unclear if bcm-sf2 wants to connect to PHY @ addr 0 or
is scanning the bus, passing -1 here should keep it functional either way.

At present if CONFIG_SPL_GPIO_SUPPORT is enabled then the GPIO uclass
is included in SPL/TPL without any control for boards. Some boards may
want to disable this to reduce code size where GPIOs are not needed in
SPL or TPL.
Add a new Kconfig option to permit this. Default it to 'y' so that
existing boards work correctly.
Change existing uses of CONFIG_DM_GPIO to CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_GPIO) to
preserve the current behaviour. Also update the 74x164 GPIO driver since
it cannot build with SPL.
This allows us to remove the hacks in config_uncmd_spl.h and
Makefile.uncmd_spl (eventually those files should be removed).

This bus is used to access internal SoC PHYs. These PHYs are configured
by the ENETC driver directly, but it's useful to have command line access
to this MDIO to debug the system especially when using new external PHYs.

On some boards MDIO may get stuck if it detects echo on the line. This is
a know hardware issue, there is a board fix for it. In case we're running
on a board that doesn't have the fix, we don't want to loop here forever
and freeze U-Boot.

This reduces the time needed to establish a link as we don't reset the link

In some cases the link on the system interface of the aquantia PHY comes up
after the link on line interface. The link state loop only checks the line
side, which may result in first packet sent being lost.
Use aquantia_link_is_up instead, which checks both system and line side on
gen 2/3 PHYs to avoid losing the 1st packet.

Aquantia PHYs have a SMBus interface mostly used for debug. The addresses
on this interface are normally set up by PHY firmware, but depending on the
board they may end up not being unique. Add an optional DT property used
to change SMBus address if needed.

MDI pins up to the RJ45 connector may be reversed on the board and the

If PHY is not ready for data by the time _config is called, reconfigure the
PHY system interface to use the proper protocol based on phydev->interface,

The PHY supports XFI and USXGMII, the notable difference being that USX AN
is enabled for USXGMII. Legacy code uses XGMII for any 10G proto and
detects whether USX AN should be enabled or not using a PHY status
register. Keep that functionality too, so we don't break existing drivers.

On mv88E6071 the 'EDet' field offset, width and sense control
bits are different, adjust the driver to init the PHY control

On 88E6071 chip the port status register bit field offsets
for duplex and link bits differ. Extend the driver to use
88E6071 specific offset values. The width of bit fields for
speed status differ, too. Adapt for proper port speed

Extend the driver to init switch register offsets from variables
instead of compile time macros and enable detection of 88E6071 and
compatible devices. Ethernet transfer (e.g. tftp) does not work yet,
so enable the registration of the 'indirect mii' bus for easier PHY
register access by 'mii' command.

The KSZ8081 PHY has a factory test mode which is set at the de-assertion
of the reset line based on the RXER (KSZ8081RNA/RND) or TXC
(KSZ8081MNX/RNB) pin. If a pull-down is missing, or if the pin has a
pull-up, the factory test mode should be cleared by manually writing a 0
(according to the datasheet).
Create another ksz8081_config function to handle this case.

I've noticed that in most cases when genphy_update_link() is called, the
ethernet driver (mt7628-eth in this case) fails with the first ethernet
packets. Resulting in a timeout of the first tftp command. Increasing
the delay in the link check look from 1 to 50 ms and moving it below the
BMSR register read fixes this issue, resulting in a stable ethernet
traffic, even after initial link autonogotiation.

This version of the RTL-8168 chip can be found on some add-in cards sold
by CSL-Computer GmbH & Co. KG. The chip isn't special in any way, but it
needs to have the ChipCmd register programmed after the DMA descriptors
have been set up, so make sure that happens by adding an entry to the
chip information table.

This commit ports mvpp2 to use the recently introduced Marvell MDIO
(MVMDIO) driver. It removes direct interaction with the SMI & XSMI
busses. This commit is based in part on earlier work by
Ken Ma <make@marvell.com> in Marvell's own downstream repo:
https://github.com/MarvellEmbeddedProcessors/u-boot-marvell/commit/c81dc39.
The above refrenced work was based on an MVMDIO implementation that
never made it into U-Boot. With this patch the mvpp2 driver switches
to use the new MVMDIO driver that is based on a more universal
mdio-uclass implementation.

If the phy doesn't match with any existing u-boot drivers, the phy
framework will connect it to the generic one which uid ==
0xffffffff. In this case, act as if the phy wouldn't be declared in
dts. Otherwise, in case of 3310 (for which the driver doesn't exist)
the link is marked as always down. Removing phy entry from dts in case
of 3310 is not a good option because it is required for the
phy_fw_down procedure.
This patch fixes the issue with the link always down on MCBIN board.

Issue:
- Network stuck if autonegotion fails.
Issue root cause:
- When autonegotiation fails during port open procedure, the packet
processor configuration does not finish and open procedure exits
with error.
- However, this doesn't prevent u-boot network framework from
calling send and receive procedures.
- Using transmit and receive functions of misconfigured packet
processor will cause traffic to get stuck.
Fix:
- Continue packet processor configuration even if autonegotiation
fails. Only error message is triggered in this case.
- Exit transmit and receive functions if there is no PHY link
indication.
- U-boot network framework now calls open procedure again during next
transmit initiation.

The driver would only set the IO impedance value when RGMII internal delays

Based on commit c11669a2757e ("net: phy: dp83867: Rework delay rgmii delay
handling") of mainline linux kernel.
The current code is assuming the reset default of the delay control
register was to have delay disabled. This is what the datasheet shows as
the register's initial value. However, that's not actually true: the
default is controlled by the PHY's pin strapping.
This patch:
- insures the other direction's delay is disabled If the interface mode is
selected as RX or TX delay only
- validates the delay values and fail if they are not in range
- checks if the board is strapped to have a delay and is configured to use
"rgmii" mode and warning is generated that "rgmii-id" should have been
used.

Based on commit 13c83cf8af0d ("net: phy: dp83867: Add ability to disable
output clock") of mainline linux kernel.
Generally, the output clock pin is only used for testing and only serves as
a source of RF noise after this. It could be used to daisy-chain PHYs, but
this is uncommon. Since the PHY can disable the output, make doing so an
option. I do this by adding another enumeration to the allowed values of
ti,clk-output-sel.
The code was not using the value DP83867_CLK_O_SEL_REF_CLK as one might
expect: to select the REF_CLK as the output. Rather it meant "keep clock
output setting as is", which, depending on PHY strapping, might not be
outputting REF_CLK.
Change this so DP83867_CLK_O_SEL_REF_CLK means enable REF_CLK output.
Omitting the property will leave the setting as is (which was the previous
behavior in this case).
Out of range values were silently converted into DP83867_CLK_O_SEL_REF_CLK.
Change this so they generate an error.

According to TRMs the 10Mbps link speed is supported in RGMII only when
CPSW2G MAC SL is configured for External Control ("in band") mode
CPSW_SL_MACCTRL.EXT_EN(18) = 1.

When received a packet with an invalid length recorded in rx descriptor,
we should free this rx descriptor to allow us to continue to receive
following packets.
Without doing so, u-boot will stuck in a dead loop trying to process this
invalid rx descriptor.
This patch adds a call to mt7628_eth_free_pkt() after received an invalid
packet length.

The mt7628 has an embedded ethernet switch (5 phy ports + 1 cpu port).
Although in IOT mode only port0 is usable, the phy0 is still connected
to the switch, not the ethernet gmac directly.
This patch rewrites it and makes it optional. It can be turned on by adding
mediatek,poll-link-phy = <?> explicitly into the eth node. By default the
driver is switch mode with all 5 phy ports working without link detection.

This patch adds support for gmiitorgmii converter.
This converter sits between the MAC and the external phy
MAC <==> GMII2RGMII <==> RGMII_PHY.
The ethernet driver probes this bridge and this bridge driver
probes real phy driver and invokes the real phy functionalities
as requested. This bridge just needs to be configured based on
real phy negotiated speed and duplex.

The commit
642b80d256 ("net: designware: drop compatible altr, socfpga-stmmac")
breaks designware ethernet for all ARC boards. It removes
"altr, socfpga-stmmac" compatible from "drivers/net/designware.c"
without changing compatible in the boards which use it.
Fix that by adding "snps,arc-dwmac-3.70a" compatible string to
"drivers/net/designware.c" and using it in ARC boards device tree.

With commit c6d07bf440 ("net/macb: increase RX buffer size for GEM")
ethernet support does not work any more with d-cache enabled on the
AT91SAM. The reason is, that MACB_RX_BUFFER_SIZE was changed from 4096
to 128 but this change was not refected in the rx_buffer flush and
invalidate functions, as these also use this macro.
This patch now fixes this by calculating the rx buffer size correctly
again in those functions. With this change, ethernet works again
reliably on my AT91SAM board.

The same compatible = "altr,socfpga-stmmac" appears in both
drivers/net/designware.c and drivers/net/dwmac_socfgpa.c,
creating ambiguity in which driver will be bound.
For Intel/Altera SoC devices, dwmac_socfpga.c is the correct driver.
So drop the compatible string from designware.c.

Align the board and driver prototype for board_interface_eth_init
to avoid execution issue (the interface_type parameter is defined
as int or phy_interface_t).
To have a generic weak function (it should be reused by other driver)

mvpp2 already has support for setting MAC addresses but this
functionality was not exposed to the ethernet core. This commit exposes
this functionality so that MAC address assignments stored in U-Boot's
environment are correctly applied before Linux boots.

This patch adds a separate driver for the MDIO interface of the
Marvell Ethernet controllers based on driver model. There are two
reasons to have a separate driver rather than including it inside
the MAC driver itself:
*) The MDIO interface is shared by all Ethernet ports, so a driver
must guarantee non-concurrent accesses to this MDIO interface. The
most logical way is to have a separate driver that handles this
single MDIO interface, used by all Ethernet ports.
*) The MDIO interface is the same between the existing mv643xx_eth
driver and the new mvneta/mvpp2 driver. Even though it is for now
only used by the mvneta/mvpp2 driver, it will in the future be
used by the mv643xx_eth driver as well.
This driver supports SMI IEEE for 802.3 Clause 22 and XSMI for IEEE
802.3 Clause 45.
This patch also adds device tree binding for marvell MDIO driver.

MC firmware need to be aligned to 512M, so minimum 512MB DDR is reserved.
But MC support to work with 128MB or 256MB DDR memory also, in this
case, rest of the memory is not usable.
So reporting this extra memory to Linux through dtb memory fixup.

Instead of depending on CONFIG_SYS_LITTLE_ENDIAN, we check at runtime
whether underlying system is little-endian or big-endian. This way
we are not dependent on any U-Boot specific OR compiler specific macro
to check system endianness.

The SiFive MACB ethernet has a custom TX_CLK_SEL register to select
different TX clock for 1000mbps vs 10/100mbps.
This patch adds SiFive MACB compatible string and extends the MACB
ethernet driver to change TX clock using TX_CLK_SEL register for
SiFive MACB.

In the case of the tsec network driver, so far there has been no
mainline user of DM_ETH where the DT bindings get used.
In the case of the mdio bus, it looks like the "fsl,tsec-mdio" string
was made up for the documentation, but there is no mainline code that
parses the "compatible" property anyway.
In both cases, there are no DT blobs that contain the old strings.
So change the documentation to "fsl,etsec2" for the Ethernet ports and
"fsl,etsec2-mdio" for the MDIO buses, which are strings that Linux also
uses, at least for LS1021A. More compatible strings can be added once
other (PowerPC) SoCs are migrated to DM_ETH.
The current ls1021a.dtsi doesn't match what was documented for the MDIO
buses anyway (the "compatible" is "gianfar" currently). This will be
fixed in the next patch.

In tsec_init, the MAC address is retrieved from 2 different structures
depending on whether DM_ETH is enabled or not.
But since the field name is the same inside both structures, we can
conditionally define the structure of the correct type and simplify the
assignments.

By convention, the eTSEC MDIO controller nodes are defined in DT at
0x2d24000 and 0x2d50000, but actually U-Boot does not touch the
interrupt portion of the register map (MDIO_IEVENTM, MDIO_IMASKM,
MDIO_EMAPM).
That leaves only the MDIO bus registers (MDIO_MIIMCFG, MDIO_MIIMCOM,
MDIO_MIIMADD, MDIO_MIIMADD, MDIO_MIIMCON, MDIO_MIIMSTAT) which start at
the 0x520 offset.
So shift the DT-defined register map by the offset of MDIO_MIIMCFG when
mapping the MDIO bus registers.

Macb Ethernet controller requires a RX buffer of 128 bytes. It is
highly sub-optimal for Gigabit-capable GEM that is able to use
a bigger DMA buffer. Change this constant and associated macros
with data stored in the private structure.
RX DMA buffer size has to be multiple of 64 bytes as indicated in
DMA Configuration Register specification.

Ethernet interfaces using serial protocols go through the serdes block
integrated in the SoC. This is accessed over dedicated internal MDIOs
which are part of the Ethernet PCI functions. Set up serdes at _start,
along with other protocol specific port/MAC configuration.
MDIO code is shared with enetc_mdio, read/write functions are exported
from fsl_enetc_mdio for this reason.

Adds a driver for the MDIO interface currently integrated in LS1028A SoC.
This MDIO interface is shared by multiple ethernet interfaces and is
presented as a stand-alone PCI function on the SoC ECAM.

The designware eth driver registers an mdio bus during probe, but if no
PHY is found, this bus is never removed although probe failes and the
driver is shown as not probed in the dm tree.
This later leads to errors when e.g. the mii or mdio commands try to
use available mdio buses because the mdio bus is still registered but
all corresponding data structures are invalid because probe failed.
Fix this by unregistering the mdio bus on probe failure (just as it is
unregistered in the .remove callback, too).

Adds a class for MDIO MUXes, which control access to a series of
downstream child MDIOs.
MDIO MUX drivers are required to implement a select function used to switch
between child buses.
MUX children are registered as MDIO buses and they can be used just like

Current code fails to probe some C45 PHYs that also respond to C22 reads.
This is the case for PHYs like Aquantia AQR112, Marvell 88X2242 (as
previously posted on the u-boot list).
If the PHY ID reads all 0s just ignore it and try the next devad.

Add new driver for the TI AM65x SoC Gigabit Ethernet Switch subsystem (CPSW
NUSS). It has two ports and provides Ethernet packet communication for the
device and can be configured as an Ethernet switch. CPSW NUSS features: the
Reduced Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII), Reduced Media
Independent Interface (RMII), and the Management Data Input/Output (MDIO)
interface for physical layer device (PHY) management. The TI AM65x SoC has
integrated two-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch subsystem into device MCU
domain named MCU_CPSW0. One Ethernet port (port 1) with selectable RGMII
and RMII interfaces and an internal Communications Port Programming
Interface (CPPI) port (Host port 0).
Host Port 0 CPPI Packet Streaming Interface interface supports 8 TX
channels and on RX channels operating by TI am654 NAVSS Unified DMA
Peripheral Root Complex (UDMA-P) controller.

When serdes configuration was written in hardware there was a delay
of 100ms to be sure that configuration was written. But the delay is not
needed because already the function serdes_write it is checking that the
operation finished.
Therefore remove the mdelay. This improves the speed of configuring the
network driver.

The code block reading the DT property for the clock output control was
before the phy's DT node pointer was set, so it could never work. Move
it after the node pointer is set.
Also store the unsigned 32-bit property into an unsigned value, not a
signed value, as the former will cause a problem if value overflows.
For instance, if one were to add 0xffffffff as a code to mean the clock
output should be turned off.

When not using DM_ETH, these PHY settings are programmed with default
values hardcoded into the driver. When using DM_ETH, they should come
from the device tree. However, if the device tree does not have the
properties, the driver will silent use -1. Which is entirely out of
range, programs nonsense into the PHY's registers, and does not work.
Change this to use the same defaults as non-DM_ETH if the device tree is
lacking the properties.
As an alternative, the kernel driver for the phy will display an error
message and fail if the device tree is lacking.

At present the link speed change callback is a nop. According to
macb device tree bindings, an optional "tx_clk" is used to clock
the ethernet controller's TX_CLK under different link speed.
In 10/100 MII mode, transmit logic must be clocked from a free
running clock generated by the external PHY. In gigabit GMII mode,
the controller, not the external PHY, must generate the 125 MHz
transmit clock towards the PHY.

In mt7629-rfb.dts, the phy-handle is a reference to the node phy0, not the
node itself:

It will always fail.

Implement this callback that allows the MAC address to be set for the
Ethernet card. This is necessary in order for the device to be able to

Commit d397f7c45b ("net: phy: micrel: Separate KSZ9000 drivers from
KSZ8000 drivers") separated the KSZ8xxx and KSZ90x1 drivers and warns
that you shouldn't select both of them due to a device ID clash between
the KSZ9021 and the KS8721, asserting that "it is highly unlikely for a
system to contain both a KSZ8000 and a KSZ9000 PHY". Unfortunately
boards like the SAMA5D3xEK do contain both types of PHY, but fortunately
the Linux Micrel PHY driver provides a solution by using different PHY
ID and mask values to distinguish these chips.
This commit contains the following changes:
- The PHY ID and mask values for the KSZ9021 and the KS8721 now match
those used by the Linux driver.
- The warnings about not enabling both drivers have been removed.
- The description for PHY_MICREL_KSZ8XXX has been corrected (these are
10/100 PHYs, not GbE PHYs).
- PHY_MICREL_KSZ9021 and PHY_MICREL_KSZ9031 no longer select PHY_GIGE
since this is selected by PHY_MICREL_KSZ90X1.
- All of the relevant defconfig files have been updated now that
PHY_MICREL_KSZ8XXX does not default to 'Y'.

In some of the device trees that specify skew values for KSZ90x1 PHYs
the values are stored (incorrectly) in the MAC node, whereas in others
it is in an 'ethernet-phy' subnode. Previously the code would fail to
find and program these skew values, so this commit changes it to look
for an "ethernet-phy" subnode first, and revert to looking in the MAC
node if there isn't one.
The device trees affected (where the skew values are in a subnode) are
imx6qdl-icore-rqs.dtsi, r8a77970-eagle.dts, r8a77990-ebisu.dts,
r8a77995-draak.dts, salvator-common.dtsi, sama5d3xcm.dtsi,
sama5d3xcm_cmp.dtsi, socfpga_cyclone5_vining_fpga.dts,
socfpga_stratix10_socdk.dts and ulcb.dtsi. Before this change the skew
values in these device trees would be ignored.
The device trees where the skew values are in the MAC node are
socfpga_arria10_socdk.dtsi, socfpga_arria5_socdk.dts,
socfpga_cyclone5_de0_nano_soc.dts, socfpga_cyclone5_de10_nano.dts,
socfpga_cyclone5_de1_soc.dts, socfpga_cyclone5_is1.dts,
socfpga_cyclone5_socdk.dts, socfpga_cyclone5_sockit.dts. These should be
unaffected by this change.
The changes were tested on a sama5d3xcm.

Commit ff7bd212cb ("net: phy: micrel: fix divisor value for KSZ9031
phy skew") fixed the skew value divisor for the KSZ9031, but left the
code using the same divisor for the KSZ9021, which is incorrect.
The preceding commit c16e69f702 ("net: phy: micrel: add documentation
for Micrel KSZ90x1 binding") added the DTS documentation for the
KSZ90x1, changing it from the equivalent file in the Linux kernel to
correctly state that for this part the skew value is set in 120ps steps,
whereas the Linux documentation and driver continue to this day to use
the incorrect value of 200 that came from the original KSZ9021 datasheet
before it was corrected in revision 1.2 (Feb 2014).
This commit sorts out the resulting confusion in a consistent way by
making the following changes:
- Update the documentation to be clear about what the skew values mean,
in the same was as for the KSZ9031.
- Update the Micrel PHY driver to select the appropriate divisor for
both parts.
- Adjust all the device trees that state skew values for KSZ9021 PHYs to
use values based on 120ps steps instead of 200ps steps. This will result
in the same values being programmed into the skew registers as the
equivalent device trees in the Linux kernel do, where it incorrectly
uses 200ps steps (since that's where all these device trees were copied
from).

For AQR405 in register 4.c441 bit 15 was override with 0. This caused the
phy to not negotiate at 2.5GB rate with mac. To avoid
this override it needed first to know the previous value of reg 4.c441
and set only bit 3.

When EEE is supported by the PHY and the driver allows it, libphy in the
kernel is configuring the PHY to stop receiving the xMII clock while it
is signaling LPI. While this (usually) works fine in the kernel this is
causing issues in U-Boot when rebooting from the linux kernel with this
bit set (without having the possibility to reset the PHY) where the PHY
suddenly stops working.
A new quirk is introduced to unconditionally reset this bit. If the
quirk is not enabled using the proper configuration symbol, the PHY state
is not changed.

Two new helper functions (phy_read_mmd() and phy_write_mmd()) are added
to allow access to the MMD PHY registers.
The MMD PHY registers can be accessed by several means:
1. Using two new MMD access function hooks in the PHY driver. These
functions can be implemented when the PHY driver does not support the
standard IEEE Compatible clause 45 access mechanism described in clause
22 or if the PHY uses its own non-standard access mechanism.
2. Direct access for C45 PHYs and C22 PHYs when accessing the reachable
DEVADs.
3. The standard clause 45 access extensions to the MMD registers through
the indirection registers (clause 22) in all the other cases.

According to the R-Car Gen3 Hardware Manual Rev 1.50 of Nov 30, 2018, the
TX clock internal delay mode isn't supported on R-Car E3 (r8a77990) or D3
(r8a77995).
Avoid setting the APSR:TDM bit on these SoCs. Moreover, only set APSR:TDM
when the DT explicitly specifies RGMII ID or TXID mode instead of setting
it unconditionally when the PHY link speed is 1000 Mbit/s.

The boards with SoCs from the DaVinci DM* family used to come with
different PHYs that needed special support implemented in mach-davinci.
Since the support for these chips has long been removed, we can now

Currently mach-mt7620 contains only support for mt7628. To avoid confusion,
rename mach-mt7620 to mach-mtmips, which means MediaTek MIPS platforms.
MT7620 and MT7628 should be distinguished by SOC_MT7620 and SOC_MT7628
because they do not share the same lowlevel codes.
Dependencies of four drivers are changed to SOC_MT7628 as these drivers
are only used by MT7628.

Since the introduction of the driver, some memory in IRAM is reserved for
the TX buffers.
However there are not used but instead of it, it is the buffer provided
by the net stack which is used. As stated in the comment of the driver,
not using the IRAM buffer could cause cache issue and lower the
throughput.
For the second argument it is less the case for transmitting buffers
because the throughput gain in IRAM is mitigated by the time to copy the
data from RAM to IRAM, but the first argument is still valid and indeed
this patch fixes issue seen with Ethernet on some boards

Unlike other Allwinner SoC's R40 GMAC clock control register
is locate in CCU, but rest located via syscon itself. Since
the phandle property for current code look for 'syscon' and
it will grab the respective ccu or syscon base address based
on DT property defined in respective SoC dtsi.
So, use the existing 'syscon' code even for R40 for retrieving
GMAC clock via CCU and update the register directly in
sun8i_emac_set_syscon instead of writing it separately using
ccm base.

The function mscc_miim_reset resets all the phys, but it is called for
each phy separetely. One consequence of this is that the boot time
is increased by 2 seconds.
The fix consists for calling the mscc_miim_reset function only once for
all phys.

ti_cm_get_macid() is used to get a syscon node from the dt, read the
efuse address and then assign the macid read from the address. Divide
these two steps into separate functions one of which can be called from
ofdata_to_platdata() while the other can be called from _probe(). This
ensures that platdata can be assigned statically in a board file when
OF_CONTROL is not enabled. Also add a macid_sel_compat in private data
to get information about the macid byte placement.

Convert cpsw_platform_data to a pointer in cpsw_priv. Allocate it
dynamically and assign it as a part of eth_pdata. This helps in
isolating platform data handling and implementing platdata for SPL
in a board file.

cpsw_phy_sel() is a configuration step that should not be in
ofdata_to_platdata(). Add phy_sel_compat to the cpsw_platform_data
structure so that it is accessible in _probe. Then move the call of

Reset and initialize the PHY once in the probe() function rather than
doing it over and over again is start() function. This requires us to
keep the clock enabled while the driver is in use. This significantly
reduces the time between transfers as the PHY doesn't have to restart
autonegotiation between transfers, which takes forever.

I've noticed that the first ethernet packet after PHY link establishment
is not tranferred correctly most of the time on my AT91SAM9G25 board.
Here I usually see a timeout of a few seconds, which is quite
annoying.
Adding a small delay (10ms in this case) after the link establishment
helps to solve this problem. With this patch applied, this timeout
on the first packet is not seen any more.

As per Linux kernel DT binding doc:
- phy-reset-post-delay : Post reset delay in milliseconds. If present then
a delay of phy-reset-post-delay milliseconds will be observed after the
phy-reset-gpios has been toggled. Can be omitted thus no delay is
observed. Delay is in range of 1ms to 1000ms. Other delays are invalid.

Negative phy-addresses can occour if the caller function was not able to
determine a valid phy address (from device-tree for example). In this
case we catch this here and search for ANY phy device on the given mdio-
bus.

If node /board_info/ports does not exist in the DPC file,
function mc_fixup_dpc() will skip not only MAC address fixup,
but also the cache flush at the end. This may cause the other
fixup changes (e.g. ICID related ones) to be ignored by MC.

some dpmacs in armv8a based freescale layerscape SOCs can be
configured via both serdes(sgmii, xfi, xlaui etc) bits and via
EC*_PMUX(rgmii) bits in RCW.
e.g. dpmac 17 and 18 in LX2160A can be configured as SGMII from
serdes bits and as RGMII via EC1_PMUX/EC2_PMUX bits
Now if a dpmac is enabled by serdes bits then it takes precedence
over EC*_PMUX bits. i.e. in LX2160A if we select serdes protocol
that configures dpmac17 as SGMII and set the EC1_PMUX as RGMII,
then the dpmac is SGMII and not RGMII.
Therefore, in fsl_rgmii_init function of SOC, we will check if the
dpmac is enabled or not? if it is (fsl_serdes_init has already enabled
the dpmac), then don't enable it.

Enable the socfpga specific designware ethernet driver by default for
socfpga by implying it when enabling CONFIG_ETH_DESIGNWARE for a
MACH_SOCFPGA config.
This is required to remove the hacky reset and phy mode handling in
arch/arm/mach-socfpga.

This driver was written for Arria10, but it applies to Gen5, too.
The main difference is that Gen5 has 2 MACs (Arria10 has 3) and the
syscon bits are encoded in the same register, thus an offset is needed.
This offset is already read from the devicetree, but for Arria10 it is
always 0, which is probably why it has been ignored. By using this
offset when writing the phy mode into the syscon regiter, we can use
this driver to set the phy mode for both of the MACs on Gen5.
Since the PHY mode bits in sysmgr are the same even for Stratix10,
let's drop the detection of the sub-mach by checking compatible
version and just use the same code for all FPGAs.
To work correctly, this driver depends on SYSCON and REGMAP, so select
those via Kconfig when it is enabeld.
Tested on socfpga_socrates (where the 2nd MAC is connected, so a shift
offset is required).

When DM_REGULATOR is enabled, the driver attempts to call
regulator_autoset() which expects the regulators to be on at boot
and/or always on and fails if they are not true.
For a more generic approach, this patch just calls
regulator_set_enable() which shouldn't have such restrictions.

Currently if we have more than one phy on the MDIO bus, we do not have a
good mechanism for determining which should be used at runtime. Enable the
FEC driver to determine the address for the PHY from the device tree.

No mainline board enables CONFIG_MCAST_TFTP and there have been
compilation issues with the code for some time. Additionally, it has a
potential buffer underrun issue (reported as a side note in
CVE-2018-18439).
Remove the multicast TFTP code but keep the driver API for the future
addition of IPv6.

According to the datasheet to access the extended registers we have to:
1. Write Register 31 Data = 0x0XYZ (Page 0xXYZ)
2. Read/Write the target Register Data
3. Write Register 31 Data = 0x0000 or 0xa42 (switch back to IEEE
Standard Registers)
Hook the missing functions so that we can use the `mdio rx/wx` command to

For KSZ9021, all skew register fields are 4-bit wide.
For KSZ9031, the clock skew register fields are 5-bit wide.
The common code in ksz90x1_of_config_group calculating the combined
register value checks if the requested value is above the maximum
and uses this maximum if so. The calculation of this maximum uses
the register width, but the check itself does not. It uses a hardcoded
value of 0xf, which is too low in case of the 5-bit clock (0x1f).
This detail was probably lost during driver unification.
Effect (only for KSZ9031 clock skews): For values greater 900 (== 0ps),
this silently results in 1860 (== +960ps) instead of the requested one.
Fix the check by using the bit width instead of hardcoded value(s).

Current code forces all ports on a given Ethernet device to use the same
mdio device. In practice different ports might be wired to separate mdio
devices. Move the mdio device from the container struct mvpp2 to the per
port struct mvpp2_port.

Short frames are padded to the minimum allowed size of 60 bytes.
However, the designware driver sends old data in these padding bytes.
It is common practice to zero out these padding bytes ro prevent
leaking memory contents to other hosts.
Fix the padding code to zero out the padded bytes at the end.
Tested on socfpga gen5.

The designware driver has a bug in setting the tx length into the dma
descriptor: it always or's the length into the descriptor without
zeroing out the length mask before.
This results in occasional packets being transmitted with a length
greater than they should be (trailer). Due to the nature of Ethernet
allowing such a trailer, most packets seem to be parsed fine by remote
hosts, which is probably why this hasn't been noticed.
Fix this by correctly clearing the size mask before setting the new
length.

The phy devices can be accessed via clause 22 or via clause 45.
This information can be deduced when we read phy id. if the phy id
is read without giving any MDIO Manageable Device Address (MMD), then
it conforms to clause 22. otherwise it conforms to clause 45.

The cache was only flushed before *transmitting* packets, but not
when receiving them, leading to an issue where new packets were
handed to the receive handler with old contents in cache. This
only happens when a lot of packets are received without sending
packages every now and then. Also flushing the receive buffers
in the transmit function makes no sense and can be removed.

fsl-mc lazyapply command applies dpl from efi_exit_boot_services().
Status of fsl-mc node in working fdt is updated at this stage.
However, an efi application like grub may already have copied the fdt.
So the updates to fdt done at efi_exit_boot_services() may not be
visible to the OS. Fix it by updating fdt earlier if fsl-mc lazyapply
command is used.

When fixed-link phy is used subnode offset is used as phy address. This
number is bigger then space allocated for bus structure (allocated via
mdio_alloc).
bus->phymap[] array has PHY_MAX_ADDR size (32).
That's why writing bus->phymap[addr] where addr is < 0 or > PHY_MAX_ADDR
is causing write to memory which can caused full U-Boot crash.
The patch is checking if address is in correct range.

This merges the CRC16-CCITT headers into u-boot/crc.h to prepare for

This patch throws an error if 64-bit support is expected
but DMA hardware is not capable of 64-bit support. It also
prints a debug message if DMA is capable of 64-bit but not
using it.

This patch adds 64-bit addressing support for zynq gem.
This means it can perform send and receive operations on
64-bit address buffers.
