df17cdc9cf drivers: avoid using aliases on drivers when OF_PLATDATA is enabled
After latest improvements on OF_PLATDATA struct names are generated
based on driver name instead of compatible strings. With this in mind,
using aliases in drivers are not longer needed.

This patch removes code that tried to handle these kind of aliases to
improve readability.

e7005b3e80 fsl_dspi: Introduce DT bindings for CS-SCK and SCK-CS delays
Communication with some SPI slaves just won't cut it if these delays
(before the beginning, and after the end of a transfer) are not added to
the Chip Select signal.

conversions.

To generate this commit, I used coccinelle excluding drivers/core/,

8613c8d897 treewide: convert (void *)devfdt_get_addr() to dev_read_addr_ptr()
Use the _ptr suffixed variant instead of casting. Also, convert it to
dev_read_addr_ptr(), which is safe to CONFIG_OF_LIVE.

One curious part is an error check like follows in
drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c:

    priv->regs = (struct wd_timer *)devfdt_get_addr(dev);
    if (!priv->regs)
            return -EINVAL;

devfdt_get_addr() returns FDT_ADDR_T_NONE (i.e. -1) on error.
So, this code does not catch any error in DT parsing.

dev_read_addr_ptr() returns NULL on error, so this error check
will work.

I generated this commit by the following command:

 $ find . -name .git -prune -o -name '*.[ch]' -type f -print | \
   xargs sed -i -e 's/([^*)]*\*)devfdt_get_addr(/dev_read_addr_ptr(/'

I manually fixed drivers/usb/host/ehci-mx6.c

fefac0b064 dm: acpi: Enhance acpi_get_name()
For many device types it is possible to figure out the name just by
looking at its uclass or parent. Add a function to handle this, since it
allows us to cover the vast majority of cases automatically.

However it is sometimes impossible to figure out an ACPI name for a device
just by looking at its uclass. For example a touch device may have a
vendor-specific name. Add a new "acpi,name" property to allow a custom
name to be created.

With this new feature we can drop the get_name() methods in the sandbox
I2C and SPI drivers. They were only added for testing purposes. Update the
tests to use the new values.

def88bce09 spi: fsl_qspi: Support to use full AHB space on i.MX
i.MX platforms provide large AHB mapped space for QSPI, each
controller has 256MB. However, current driver only maps small
size (AHB buffer size) of AHB space, this implementation
causes i.MX failed to boot M4 with QSPI XIP image.

Add config CONFIG_FSL_QSPI_AHB_FULL_MAP (default enabled for i.MX)
to address above problem.

When the config is set:
1. Full AHB space is divided to each CS.
2. A dedicated LUT entry is used for AHB read only.
3. The MODE instruction in LUT is replaced to standard ADDR instruction
4. The address in spi_mem_op is used to SFAR and AHB read

93d6c8f7b7 spi: fsl_qspi: Add support for i.MX7ULP
Add compatible string and driver data for i.MX7ULP.
Meanwhile, the address set to SFA1AD/SFA2AD/SFB1AD/SFB2AD should
align with 1KB, because the lowest 10 bits are reserved by the
registers definition.
For i.MX7ULP which has only 128Bytes AHB buffer, must align it
when setting the registers and selecting cs.

51f1263d89 dtoc: extend dtoc to use struct driver_info when linking nodes
In the current implementation, when dtoc parses a dtb to generate a struct
platdata it converts the information related to linked nodes as pointers
to struct platdata of destination nodes. By doing this, it makes
difficult to get pointer to udevices created based on these
information.

This patch extends dtoc to use struct driver_info when populating
information about linked nodes, which makes it easier to later get
the devices created. In this context, reimplement functions like
clk_get_by_index_platdata() which made use of the previous approach.

addf358bac core: add support for U_BOOT_DRIVER_ALIAS
Currently when using OF_PLATDATA the binding between devices and drivers
is done trying to match the compatible string in the node with a driver
name. However, usually a single driver supports multiple compatible strings
which causes that only devices which its compatible string matches a
driver name get bound.

To overcome this issue, this patch adds the U_BOOT_DRIVER_ALIAS macro,
which generates no code at all, but allows an easy way to declare driver
name aliases. Thanks to this, dtoc could be improve to look for the driver
name based on its alias when it populates the U_BOOT_DEVICE entry.

e3e2470fdd drivers: rename drivers to match compatible string
When using OF_PLATDATA, the bind process between devices and drivers
is performed trying to match compatible string with driver names.
However driver names are not strictly defined, and also there are different
names used when declaring a driver with U_BOOT_DRIVER, the name of the
symbol used in the linker list and the used in the struct driver_info.

In order to make things a bit more clear, rename the drivers names. This
will also help for further OF_PLATDATA improvements, such as checking
for valid driver names.

0e146993bb spi: add support for all spi modes with soft spi
The spi bitbanging driver did not implement all spi modes properly. Add
code to support all spi modes, honoring soft_spi_set_mode() and
defaulting to spi mode 0. Previously, CPHA was implemented inversely
(defaulting to CPHA=1) and CPOL=1 was hardcoded.

56c4046038 spi: Convert CONFIG_DM_SPI* to CONFIG_$(SPL_TPL_)DM_SPI*
This change allows more fine tuning of driver model based SPI support in
SPL and TPL. It is now possible to explicitly enable/disable the DM_SPI
support in SPL and TPL via Kconfig option.

Before this change it was necessary to use:

    #undef CONFIG_DM_SPI_FLASH
    #undef CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTD
    #endif

in the ./include/configs/<board>.h, which is error prone and shall be
avoided when we strive to switch to Kconfig.

The goal of this patch:

Provide distinction for DM_SPI support in both U-Boot proper and SPL (TPL).
Valid use case is when U-Boot proper wants to use DM_SPI, but SPL must
still support non DM driver.

Another use case is the conversion of non DM/DTS SPI driver to support
DM/DTS. When such driver needs to work in both SPL and U-Boot proper, the
distinction is needed in Kconfig (also if SPL version of the driver
supports OF_PLATDATA).

In the end of the day one would have to support following use cases (in
single driver file - e.g. mxs_spi.c):

- U-Boot proper driver supporting DT/DTS
- U-Boot proper driver without DT/DTS support (deprecated)
- SPL driver without DT/DTS support
- SPL (and TPL) driver with DT/DTS (when the SoC has enough resources to
  run full blown DT/DTS)
- SPL driver with DT/DTS and SPL_OF_PLATDATA (when one have constrained
  environment with no fitImage and OF_LIBFDT support).

Some boards do require SPI support (with DM) in SPL (TPL) and some only
have DM_SPI{_FLASH} defined to allow compiling SPL.

This patch converts #ifdef CONFIG_DM_SPI* to #if CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_SPI)
and provides corresponding defines in Kconfig.

609b90a6a9 x86: spi: Rewrite logic for obtaining the SPI memory map
At present this logic does not work on link and samus, since their SPI
controller is not a PCI device, but a child of the PCH.

Unfortunately, fixing this involves a lot of extra logic. Still, this was
requested in the review of the fix-up patch, so here it is.

Board gets reset when performing burst read/write operations. On the
other hand, no such behaviour is observed on small size operations.

In Linux, readl_poll_timeout API already adds delay of 1us which is
further skipped in U-boot. Hence, use new "readl_poll_sleep_timeout" API
which adds delay alongwith timeout functionality.

25e4d94f45 spi: sifive: Fix QPP transfer
The guessed reason is that the existing logic of filling
tx fifo with data, rx fifo with NULL for tx transfer and
filling rx fifo with data, tx fifo with NULL for rx transfer
is not clear enough to support the Quad Page Program.
   
SiFive SPI controllers have specific sets of watermark
registers and SPI I/O directions bits in order to program
SPI controllers clear enough to support all sets of operating
modes.
   
Here is the exact programing sequence that would follow on this
patch and tested via SPI-NOR and MMC_SPI.
   
- set the frame format proto, endian
- set the frame format dir, set it for tx and clear it for rx
- TX transfer:
  fill tx fifo with data.
  wait for TX watermark bit to clear.
- RX transfer:
  fill tx fifo with 0xff.
  write nbytes to rx watermark register
  wait for rx watermark bit to clear.
  read the rx fifo data.

So, this patch adopts this program sequence and fixes the existing
I/O direction bit.

622b913ea1 spi: sifive: Fix format register proto field
SiFive SPI controller has a proto bit field in frame format
register which would be used to configure the SPI I/O protocol
lines used on specific transfer. 

Right now the driver is configuring this proto using slave->mode,
for all types of transctions. This makes the driver unable to
function since the proto needs to configure dynamically for
each and every transaction separately at runtime.

Now, the controller driver supports per transfer via spi-mem
exec_opo, so add the fmt_proto flag and fill the per transfer
buswidth so that the controller configures the proto bit at
runtime.

This patch fixes the SPI controller works with SPI NOR flash
on quad read with page program.

b7d6e104fb spi: sifive: Add spi-mem exec op
SiFive SPI controller is responsible to handle the
slave devices like mmc spi and spi nor flash.

The controller is designed such a way that it would
handle the slave transactions based on the I/O protocol
numbers, example if spi nor slave send quad write opcode
it has to send alone with I/O protocol number of 4 and
if it try to send data it has to send I/O protocol number
along with 4 line data.

But the current spi-xfer code from spi-mem is combining
the opcode and address in a single transaction, so the
SPI controller will be unable to identify the I/O protocol
number of opcode vs address.

So, add the spi-mem exec_op with spi-xfer of opcode, address
and data as a separate transaction. This doesn't remove
the .xfer of dm_spi_ops since mmc spi will make use of it.

Note: This code might have moved to the spi-mem core area
once we have done the dedicated tests on other controllers
and have real reason to move.

790c1699b2 spi: spi-mem: Add SPI_MEM_NO_DATA to the spi_mem_data_dir enum
Commit: 0ebb261a0b2d ("spi: spi-mem: Add SPI_MEM_NO_DATA to the spi_mem_data_dir enum")
in linux.

When defining spi_mem_op templates we don't necessarily know the size
that will be passed when the template is actually used, and basing the
supports_op() check on op->data.nbytes to know whether there will be
data transferred for a specific operation is not possible.

Add SPI_MEM_NO_DATA to the spi_mem_data_dir enum so that we can base
our checks on op->data.dir instead of op->data.nbytes.

This also fixes a bug identified with the atmel-quaspi driver.
The spi-nor core, when erasing sectors, fills the spi_mem_op template
using SPI_MEM_OP_NO_DATA, which initializes all the data members with
value zero. This is wrong because data.dir is treated as SPI_MEM_DATA_IN,
which translates in our driver to read accesses for erases (RICR), while
the controller expects write accesses (WICR).

0a9c287497 spi: cadence-qspi: Move ref clock calculation to probe
"assigned-clock-parents" and "assigned-clock-rates" DT properties take
effect only after ofdata_to_platdata() when clk_set_defaults() is called
in device_probe(). Therefore clk get rate() would return a wrong value
in ofdata_to_platdata() when compared with probe. Hence it needs to be
moved to probe.

91afd36f38 spi: Transform the FSL QuadSPI driver to use the SPI MEM API
To support the SPI MEM API, instead of modifying the existing U-Boot
driver, this patch adds a port of the existing Linux driver.
This also has the advantage that porting changes and fixes from Linux will
be easier.
Porting of driver left most of the functions unchanged while few of the
changes are:
-Remove lock(mutexes) and irq handler as u-boot is a single core execution.
-Remove invalid masterid as it was required specially for multicore
execution in LS2088ARDB which is not the case in u-boot.
-Remove clock support as changing spi speed is not supported in uboot and
nor in linux.

Currently tested on LS1088ARDB, LS1012ARDB, LS1046ARDB, LS1046AFRWY,
LS1043AQDS, LS1021ATWR, LS2088ARDB, I.MX6ULL EVK.

2fcc3ba1b7 qspi: t210: Fix QSPI clock and tap delays
When claim_bus was setting the clock, it reset the QSPI controller,
which wipes out any tap delays set by previous bootloaders (nvtboot,
CBoot for example on Nano). Instead of doing that in claim_bus, which
gets called a lot, moved clock setting to probe(), and set tap delays
there, too. Also updated clock to 80MHz to match CBoot. Now QSPI env
save works reliably again.

3c8cf24032 qspi: t210: Fix claim_bus's use of the wrong bus/device
claim_bus() is passed a udevice *dev, which is the bus device's parent.
In this driver, claim_bus assumed it was the bus, which caused the
'priv' info pointer to be wrong, and periph_id was incorrect. This in
turn caused the periph clock call to assign the wrong clock (PLLM
instead of PLLP0), which caused a kernel warning. I only saw the 'bad'
periph_id when enabling DEBUG due to an assert. Not sure how QSPI was
working w/this errant clock, but it was moot as QSPI wasn't active
unless you probed it, and that wasn't happening until I posted a patch
to enable env save to QSPI for Nano (coming soon).

ba03a6c944 spi: atmel-quadspi: fix possible MMIO window size overrun
The sama5d2 QSPI controller memory space is limited to 128MB:
0x9000_00000-0x9800_00000/0XD000_0000--0XD800_0000.

There are nor flashes that are bigger in size than the memory size
supported by the controller: Micron MT25QL02G (256 MB).

Check if the address exceeds the MMIO window size. An improvement
would be to add support for regular SPI mode and fall back to it
when the flash memories overrun the controller's memory space.

4856cc7a97 mpc8xxx_spi: implement real ->set_speed
Not all boards have the same CSB frequency, nor do every SPI slave
necessarily support running at 16.7 MHz. So implement ->set_speed;

1a7b462dee mpc8xxx_spi: put max_cs to use
Currently, max_cs is write-only; it's just set in
mpc8xxx_spi_ofdata_to_platdata and not otherwise used.

My mpc8309 was always resetting during an "sf probe 0". It turns out
dm_gpio_set_dir_flags() was being called with garbage, since nothing
had initialized priv->gpios[0] - our device tree used "cs-gpios"
rather than "gpios", so gpio_request_list_by_name() had returned 0.

That would have been a lot easier to figure out if the chip select
index was sanity checked, so rename max_cs to cs_count, and reject a
xfer with a too large cs index.

336d4615f8 dm: core: Create a new header file for 'compat' features
At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.

Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

5e579cc004 spi: ich: Drop while loop in hardware sequencing erase case
When ich_spi_exec_op_hwseq() is called to erase a 4k block
(opcode = SPINOR_OP_BE_4K), it expects to find a length value in
op->data.nbytes, but that value is always 0. As a result, the while loop
is never executed and no erase is carried out.

Fix this by dropping the loop code entirely, only keeping the relevant
parts of the loop body.

allows MMIO access to SPI NOR flash providing better read performance.
Direct mode is only exercised if AHB window size is greater than 8MB.
Support for flash address remapping is also not supported at the moment
and can be added in future.

For better performance, driver uses DMA to copy data from flash in
direct mode using dma_memcpy().

d640772021 spi: cadence_qspi: Move to spi-mem framework
Current Cadence QSPI driver has few limitations. It assumes all read
operations to be in Quad mode and thus does not support SFDP parsing.
Also, adding support for new mode such as Octal mode would not be
possible with current configuration. Therefore move the driver over to spi-mem
framework. This has added advantage that driver can be used to support
SPI NAND memories too.
Hence, move driver over to new spi-mem APIs.

Please note that this gets rid of mode bit setting done when
CONFIG_SPL_SPI_XIP is defined as there does not seem to be any user to
that config option.

f7dd537098 spi: prevent overriding established bus settings
The SPI stack relies on a proper bus speed/mode configuration
by calling dm_spi_claim_bus(). However the hitherto code
allowed to accidentally override those settings in
the spi_get_bus_and_cs() routine.

The initially established speed could be discarded by using
the slave platdata, which turned out to be an issue on
the platforms whose slave maximum supported frequency
is not on par with the maximum frequency of the bus controller.

This patch fixes above issue by configuring the bus from
spi_get_bus_and_cs() only in case it was not done before.

383fded70c spi: nxp_fspi: new driver for the FlexSPI controller
This is a port of the kernel's spi-nxp-fspi driver. It uses the new
spi-mem interface and does not expose the more generic spi-xfer
interface. The source was taken from the v5.3-rc3 tag.

The port was straightforward:
 - remove the interrupt handling and the completion by busy polling the
   controller
 - remove locks
 - move the setup of the memory windows into claim_bus()
 - move the setup of the speed into set_speed()
 - port the device tree bindings from the original fspi_probe() to
   ofdata_to_platdata()

There were only some style change fixes, no change in any logic. For
example, there are busy loops where the return code is not handled
correctly, eg. only prints a warning with WARN_ON(). This port
intentionally left most functions unchanged to ease future bugfixes.

This was tested on a custom LS1028A board. Because the LS1028A doesn't
have proper clock framework support, changing the clock speed was not
tested. This also means that it is not possible to change the SPI
speed on LS1028A for now (neither is it possible in the linux driver).

4d9b1afa41 spi: Fix manual relocation calling more times
When two instances of AXI QSPI with flash are added and tested
simultaneously the spi driver operations are relocated twice.
As a result code is accessing addresses outside of RAM when
relocated second time which is causing a crash.

Tested on Microblaze.

dbbdc81c60 spi: rk: Limit transfers to (64K - 1) bytes
The Rockchip SPI controller's length register only supports 16-bits,
yielding a maximum length of 64KiB (the CTRLR1 register holds "length -
1"). Trying to transfer more than that (e.g., with a large SPI flash
read) will cause the driver to hang.

Now, it seems that while theoretically we should be able to program
CTRLR1 with 0xffff, and get a 64KiB transfer, but that also seems to
cause the core to choke, so stick with a maximum of 64K - 1 bytes --
i.e., 0xffff.

Note, that the size is further divided into 'minus 1' while writing
into CTRLR1.

This change fixed two different read issues,

1. sf read failure when with > 0x10000

2. Boot from SPI flash failed during spi_flash_read call in
   common/spl/spl_spi.c

Observed and Tested in
- Rockpro64 with Gigadevice flash
- ROC-RK3399-PC with Winbond flash

bcee8d6764 dm: gpio: Allow control of GPIO uclass in SPL
At present if CONFIG_SPL_GPIO_SUPPORT is enabled then the GPIO uclass
is included in SPL/TPL without any control for boards. Some boards may
want to disable this to reduce code size where GPIOs are not needed in
SPL or TPL.

Add a new Kconfig option to permit this. Default it to 'y' so that
existing boards work correctly.

Change existing uses of CONFIG_DM_GPIO to CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_GPIO) to
preserve the current behaviour. Also update the 74x164 GPIO driver since
it cannot build with SPL.

This allows us to remove the hacks in config_uncmd_spl.h and
Makefile.uncmd_spl (eventually those files should be removed).

by modifying some fields of two registers, which is incompatible with the
MTK's original SDK linux driver. This will cause the flash data being

54a6b8e793 spi: mt7621-spi: remove data cache and rewrite its xfer function
The mt7621 spi controller supports continuous generic half-duplex spi
transaction. There is no need to cache xfer data at all.

To achieve this goal, the OPADDR register must be used as the first data
to be sent. And follows the eight generic DIDO registers. But one thing
different between OPADDR and DIDO registers is OPADDR has a reversed byte
order.

With this patch, any amount of data can be read/written in a single xfer
function call.

b47f4891e5 spi: bcm63xx_hsspi: Continue init when using no reset and fixed-clock.
The Broadcom ARM implementations do not yet have a clock framework so
one can use a fixed clock as the root clock of the hsspi block. The
fixed clock does not have an "enable" routine, since it's always
enabled. So when we hit this issue, getting an ENOSYS return, do not
bail but continue initialization.

Similarly the block might already have been out of reset, say, when
we are booting from a SPI device. So if the reset signal is not configured
in the device tree, do not bail out and instead skip deasserting the reset.

7949576664 spi: fsl_qspi: Fix DDR mode setting for latest iMX platforms
On latest iMX platforms like iMX7D/iMX6UL/iMX8MQ, the QSPI controller
is updated to have TDH field in FLSHCR register. According to reference
manual, this TDH must be set to 1 when DDR_EN is set. Otherwise, the TX
DDR delay logic won't be enabled.

Another issue in DDR mode is the MCR register will be overwritten in
every read/write/erase operation. This causes DDR_EN been cleared while
TDH=1, then no clk2x output for TX data shift and all operations will
fail.

c2050e10e1 spi: fix: Call mxs_reset_block() during DM/DTS probe
Without this change the DM/DTS version of mxs_spi driver doesn't reset the
SPI IP block in probe.
As a result this driver (when used solely on U-Boot proper) relies on reset
performed by mxs spi driver in SPL.

In the use case where eMMC is used in SPL as a boot primary device, the
mxs_reset_block() is not called at all and DM/DTS aware SPI driver in
U-Boot proper is malfunctioning.

fd9d70d738 km/spi: remove deprecated SPI flash driver code for KM Kirkwood boards
KM Kirkwood boards now implement the driver model for its SPI flash
interface. Therefore, the old board specific claim and release functions
can be deleted. The preprocessor definition CONFIG_SYS_KW_SPI_MPP is yet
unused as well. All its appearances and dependencies are removed in the
kirkwood_spi driver, header files and finally the configuration whitelist.

f169653483 km/spi: add weak functions to kirkwood_spi driver (DM part)
The weak functions, known from the legacy code, are added to the DM part
as well. For this purpose, the release operation first needs to be
implemented. KM Kirkwood boards will overwrite those weak functions to
change the MPP configuration when claiming/releasing the bus, because the
hardware pins are shared between the SPI NOR and NAND devices.

ca2abb75a0 spi: Avoid using malloc() in a critical function
In general we should avoid calling malloc() and free() repeatedly in
U-Boot lest we turn it into tianocore. In SPL this can make SPI flash
unusable since free() is often a nop and allocation space is limited.

In any case, these seems no need for malloc() since the number of bytes
is very small, perhaps less than 8.

67adbaef5a spi: mpc8xxx: Use get_timer
The comment before the transmission loop in conjunction with the
definition of SPI_TIMEOUT as 1000 implies that the loop is supposed to
have a timeout value of 1000 ms. But since there is no mdelay(1) or
similar in the loop body, the loop just runs 1000 times, without regard
for the time elapsed.

To correct this, use the standard get_timer functionality to properly
time out the loop after 1000 ms.

f6fcad5f2a spi: mpc8xxx: Fix if check
Decreasing the bit length and increasing the write data pointer should
be done when there are more than 32 bit of data, not 16 bit.

This did not produce incorrect behavior, because the only time where the
two checks produce different outcomes is the case of 16 < bitlen < 32,
and in this case the subsequent transmission is the last one regardless,
hence the additional bit length decrease and write data pointer increase
has no effect anyway.

Still, the correct check is the check for "bitlen > 32", so correct this
behavior.

Minize the time the adapter is disabled (via SPI_MODE_EN

The transmission loop starts with setting some variables, which are only
used inside the loop. Reduce the scope to the loop to make the
declaration and initialization of these variables coincide.

In the case of char_size this also always initializes the variable

Like clk_get_by_index, there is requirement for
clk_get_by_index_nodev. In this case to make common
code functionalities for dev and nodev, clk_get_by_index
is trying to get the index of clock by passing ofnode

the atcspi200_spi driver is unable to find CONFIG_ENV_SIZE.

16b94903e2 mips: rename mach-mt7620 to mach-mtmips
Currently mach-mt7620 contains only support for mt7628. To avoid confusion,
rename mach-mt7620 to mach-mtmips, which means MediaTek MIPS platforms.
MT7620 and MT7628 should be distinguished by SOC_MT7620 and SOC_MT7628
because they do not share the same lowlevel codes.

Dependencies of four drivers are changed to SOC_MT7628 as these drivers
are only used by MT7628.

2236149e49 rockchip: spi: make optimised receive-handler unaligned-safe
To support unaligned output buffers (i.e. 'in' in the terminology of
the SPI framework), this change splits each 16bit FIFO element after
reading and writes them to memory in two 8bit transactions.  With this
change, we can now always use the optimised mode for receive-only
transcations independent on the alignment of the target buffer.

Given that we'll run with caches on, the impact should be negligible:
as expected, this has no adverse impact on throughput if running with
a 960MHz LPLL configuration.

51a644a1b8 rockchip: spi: add driver-data and a 'rxonly_manages_fifo' flag
The SPI controller's documentation (I only had access to the RK3399,
RK3368 and PX30 TRMs) specifies that, when operating in master-mode,
the controller will stop the SCLK to avoid RXFIFO overruns and TXFIFO
underruns.  Looks like my worries that we'd need to support DMA-330
(aka PL330) to make any further progress were unfounded.

This adds a driver-data structure to capture hardware-specific
settings of individual controller instances (after all, we don't know
if all versions are well-behaved) and adds a 'master_manages_fifo'
flag to it.  The first use of said flag is in the optimised
receive-only transfer-handler, which can now request 64Kframe
(i.e. 128KByte) bursts of data on each reprogramming of CTRLR1
(i.e. every time through the loop).

This improves throughput to 46.85MBit/s (a 94.65% bus-utilisation).

8aa6c921f7 rockchip: spi: add optimised receive-only implementation
For the RK3399-Q7 we recommend storing SPL and u-boot.itb in the
on-module 32MBit (and sometimes even larger, if requested as part of a
configure-to-order configuration) SPI-NOR flash that is clocked for a
bitrate of 49.5MBit/s and connected in a single-IO configuration (the
RK3399 only supports single-IO for SPI).

Unfortunately, the existing SPI driver is excruciatingly slow at
reading out large chunks of data (in fact it is just as slow for small
chunks of data, but the overheads of the driver-framework make it less
noticeable): before this change, the throughput on a 4MB read from
SPI-NOR is 8.47MBit/s which equates a 17.11% bus-utilisation.

To improve on this, this commit adds an optimised receive-only
transfer (i.e.: out == NULL) handler that hooks into the main transfer
function and processes data in 16bit frames (utilising the full with
of each FIFO element).  As of now, the receive-only handler requires
the in-buffer to be 16bit aligned.  Any lingering data (i.e. either if
the in-buffer was not 16-bit aligned or if an odd number of bytes are
to be received) will be handled by the original 8bit reader/wirter.

Given that the SPI controller's documentation does not guarantuee any
interlocking between the RXFIFO and the master SCLK, the transfer loop
will be restarted for each chunk of 32 frames (i.e. 64 bytes).

With this new receive-only transfer handler, the throughput for a 4MB
read increases to 36.28MBit/s (i.e. 73.29% bus-utilisation): this is a
4x improvement over the baseline.

7e0e5c552f rockchip: spi: only wait for completion, if transmitting
The logic in the main transmit loop took a bit of reading the TRM to
fully understand (due to silent assumptions based in internal logic):
the "wait until idle" at the end of each iteration through the loop is
required for the transmit-path as each clearing of the ENA register
(to update run-length in the CTRLR1 register) will implicitly flush
the FIFOs... transmisson can therefore not overlap loop iterations.

This change adds a comment to clarify the reason/need for waiting
until the controller becomes idle and wraps the entire check into an
'if (out)' to make it clear that this is required for transfers with a
transmit-component only (for transfers having a receive-component,
completion of the transmit-side is trivially ensured by having
received the correct number of bytes).

The change does not increase execution time measurably in any of my
tests.
