Add a driver to support the special LDO access used by spring. This is a
custom method in the cros_ec protocol - it does not use an I2C
pass-through.
There are two implementation choices:
1. Write a special LDO driver which can talk across the EC. Duplicate all
the logic from TPS65090 for retrying when the LDO fails to come up.
2. Write a special I2C bus driver which pretends to be a TPS65090 and
transfers reads and writes using the LDO message.
Either is distasteful. The latter method is chosen since it results in less
code duplication and a fairly simple (30-line) implementation of the core
logic.
The crosec 'ldo' subcommand could be removed (since i2c md/mw will work
instead) but is retained as a convenience.

The Chrome OS EC supports tunnelling through to an I2C bus on the EC. This
currently uses a copy of the I2C command code and a special 'crosec'
sub-command.
With driver model we can define an I2C bus which tunnels through to the EC,
and use the normal 'i2c' command to access it. This simplifies the code and
removes some duplication.
Add an I2C driver which tunnels through to the EC. Adjust the EC code to
support binding child devices so that it can be set up. Adjust the existing
I2C xfer function to fit driver model better.
For now the old code remains to allow things to still work. It will be
removed in a later patch once the new flow is fully enabled.

Add a new I2C_MUX uclass. Devices in this class can multiplex between
several I2C buses, selecting them one at a time for use by the system.
The multiplexing mechanism is left to the driver to decide - it may be
controlled by GPIOs, for example.
The uclass supports only two methods: select() and deselect().
The current mux state is expected to be stored in the mux itself since
it is the only thing that knows how to make things work. The mux can
record the current state and then avoid switching unless it is necessary.
So select() can be skipped if the mux is already in the correct state.
Also deselect() can be made a nop if required.

on the frequency of the SoC. By elaborate methods, it
has been determined that a good starting value for all
platforms integrating the CAAM IP is 3200. Using a
higher value has additional benefit of speeding up
the process of instantiating the RNG, since the entropy
delay will be increased and instantiation of the RNG
state handles will be reattempted by the driver. If the
starting value is low, for certain platforms, this can
lead to a quite lengthy process.
This patch changes the starting value of the length of
the entropy sample to 3200 system clocks.

As with zImage support, there is no auto-detection of the native image

will try to interpret it as such. Otherwise, U-Boot will fall back to a
raw/native image format, if one is enabled.
My belief is that CONFIG_CMD_BOOTZ won't ever be enabled for any AArch64
port, hence there's never a need to differentiate between CONFIG_CMD_
_BOOTI and _BOOTZ at run-time; compile-time will do. Even if this isn't
true, we want to prefer _BOOTI over _BOOTZ when defined, since _BOOTI is
definitely the native format for AArch64.

The config file for the siemens-am33x-common was using OMAP_I2C_STANDARD, which
is defined in a header that is not included in the config header. In most cases,
it was being included by the code using CONFIG_SYS_OMAP24_I2C_SPEED, but it
might not always be the case.
In particular, when introducing I2C SPL support in omap-common's boot-common.c,
the header is missing and including it breaks other devices.

This introduces OMAP3 support for the common omap boot code, as well as a
major cleanup of the common omap boot code.
First, the omap_boot_parameters structure becomes platform-specific, since its
definition differs a bit across omap platforms. The offsets are removed as well
since it is U-Boot's coding style to use structures for mapping such kind of
data (in the sense that it is similar to registers). It is correct to assume
that romcode structure encoding is the same as U-Boot, given the description
of these structures in the TRMs.
The original address provided by the bootrom is passed to the U-Boot binary
instead of a duplicate of the structure stored in global data. This allows to
have only the relevant (boot device and mode) information stored in global data.
It is also expected that the address where the bootrom stores that information
is not overridden by the U-Boot SPL or U-Boot.
The save_omap_boot_params is expected to handle all special cases where the data
provided by the bootrom cannot be used as-is, so that spl_boot_device and
spl_boot_mode only return the data from global data.
All of this is only relevant when the U-Boot SPL is used. In cases it is not,
save_boot_params should fallback to its weak (or board-specific) definition.
save_omap_boot_params should not be called in that context either.

Some devices can take a long time to work out whether they have a new packet
or now. For example the ASIX USB Ethernet dongle can take 5 seconds to do
this, since it waits until it gets a new packet on the wire before allowing
the USB bulk read packet to be submitted.
At present with driver mode the Ethernet receive code reads 32 packets. This
can take a very long time if we must wait for all 32 packets. The old code
(before driver model) worked by reading a single set of packets from the USB
device, then processing all the packets with in. It would be nice to use
the same behaviour with driver model.
Add a flag to the receive method which indicates that the driver should try
to find a packet if available, by consulting the hardware. When the flag is
not set, it should just return any packet data it has already received. If
there is none, it should return -EAGAIN so that the loop will terminate.

Clocks are an important feature of platforms and have become increasing
complex with time. Most modern SoCs have multiple PLLs and dozens of clock
dividers which distribute clocks to on-chip peripherals.
Some SoC implementations have a clock API which is private to that SoC family,
e.g. Tegra and Exynos. This is useful but it would be better to have a
common API that can be understood and used throughout U-Boot.
Add a simple clock API as a starting point. It supports querying and setting
the rate of a clock. Each clock is a device. To reduce memory and processing
overhead the concept of peripheral clocks is provided. These do not need to
be explicit devices - it is possible to write a driver that can adjust the
I2C clock (for example) without an explicit I2C clock device. This can
dramatically reduce the number of devices (and associated overhead) in a
complex SoC.
Clocks are referenced by a number, and it is expected that SoCs will define
that numbering themselves via an enum.

It is common for system reset to be available at multiple levels in modern
hardware. For example, an SoC may provide a reset option, and a board may
provide its own reset for reasons of security or thoroughness. It is useful
to be able to model this hardware without hard-coding the behaviour in the
SoC or board. Also there is a distinction sometimes between resetting just
the CPU (leaving GPIO state alone) and resetting all the PMICs, just cutting
power.

to provide reset functionality and provides a way to walk through them,

available regardless of any controller drivers being enabled.
This fixes compile warnings due to missing prototypes on ARCHs where
the ARCH Kconfig always enables CONFIG_DM_USB and various usb drivers.

For secure boot systems it is common to have a read-only U-Boot which starts
the machine and jumps to a read-write U-Boot for actual booting the OS. This
allows the read-write U-Boot to be upgraded without risk of permanently
bricking the machine. In the event that the read-write U-Boot is corrupted,
the read-only U-Boot can detect this with a checksum and boot into a
recovery flow.
To support this, add a way to detect when U-Boot is run from SPL as opposed
to some other method, such as booted directly (no SPL) or started from
another source (e.g. a primary U-Boot). This works by putting a special value
in r0.
For now we rely on board-specific code to actually check the register and
set a flag. At some point this could be generalised, perhaps by using a spare
register and passing a flag to _main and/or board_init_f().
This commit does not implement any feature, but merely provides the API for
boards to implement.

Before device-tree, the device serial number used to be passed to the kernel
using ATAGs (on ARM). This is now deprecated and all the handover to the kernel
should now be done using device-tree. Thus, this passes the serial-number
property to the kernel using the serial-number property of the root node, as
expected by the kernel.
The serial number is a string that somewhat represents the device's serial
number. It might come from some form of storage (e.g. an eeprom) and be
programmed at factory-time by the manufacturer or come from identification

On my A10 OlinuxIno Lime I noticed a huge (5+ seconds) delay coming from
console_init_r. This turns out to be caused by the preconsole buffer flushing
to the cfb_console. The Lime only has a 16 bit memory bus and that is already
heavy used to scan out the 1920x1080 framebuffer.
The problem is that print_pre_console_buffer() was printing the buffer once
character at a time and the cfb_console code then ends up doing a cache-flush
for touched display lines for each character.
This commit fixes this by first building a 0 terminated buffer and then
printing it in one puts() call, avoiding unnecessary cache flushes.
This changes the time for the flush from 5+ seconds to not noticable.
The downside of this approach is that the pre-console buffer needs to fit
on the stack, this is not that much to ask since we are talking about plain
text here. This commit also adjusts the sunxi CONFIG_PRE_CON_BUF_SZ to
actually fit on the stack. Sunxi currently is the only user of the pre-console
code so no other boards need to be adjusted.

All tests are based od Sandbox PMIC emulated device. Some test constants for
this device are defined in the header: include/power/sandbox_pmic.h
PMIC tests includes:
- pmic get - tests, that pmic_get() returns the requested device
- pmic I/O - tests I/O by writing and reading some values to PMIC's registers
and then compares, that the write/read values are equal.
The regulator tests includes:
- Regulator get by devname/platname
- Voltage set/get
- Current set/get
- Enable set/get
- Mode set/get
- Autoset
- List autoset
For the regulator 'get' test, the returned device pointers are compared,
and their names are also compared to the requested one.
Every other test, first sets the given attribute and next try to get it.

As best I can tell, CONFIG_SYS_LOAD_ADDR and CONFIG_LOADADDR/$loadaddr
serve essentially the same purpose. Roughly, if a command takes a load
address, then CONFIG_SYS_LOAD_ADDR or $loadaddr (or both) are the default
if the command-line does not specify the address. Different U-Boot
commands are inconsistent re: which of the two default values they use.
As such, set the two to the same value, and move the logic that does this
into tegra-common-post.h so it's not duplicated. A number of other non-
Tegra boards do this too.
The values chosen for these macros are no longer consistent with anything
in MEM_LAYOUT_ENV_SETTINGS. Regain consistency by setting $kernel_addr_r
to CONFIG_LOADADDR. Older scripts tend to use $loadaddr for the default
kernel load address, whereas newer scripts and features tend to use
$kernel_addr_r, along with other variables for other purposes such as
DTBs and initrds. Hence, it's logical they should share the same value.
I had originally thought to make the $kernel_addr_r and CONFIG_LOADADDR
have different values. This would guarantee no interference if a script
used the two variables for different purposes. However, that scenario is
unlikely given the semantic meaning associated with the two variables.
The lowest available value is 0x90200000; see comments for
MEM_LAYOUT_ENV_SETTINGS in tegra30-common-post.h for details. However,
that value would be problematic for a script that loaded a raw zImage to
$loadaddr, since it's more than 128MB beyond the start of SDRAM, which
would interfere with the kernel's CONFIG_AUTO_ZRELADDR. So, let's not do
that.
The only potential fallout I could foresee from this patch is if someone
has a script that loads the kernel to $loadaddr, but some other file
(DTB, initrd) to a hard-coded address that the new value of $loadaddr
interferes with. This seems unlikely. A user should not do that; they
should either hard-code all load addresses, or use U-Boot-supplied
variables for all load addresses. Equally, any fallout due to this change
is trivial to fix; simply modify the load addresses in that script.

Overo COMs have NAND flash that requires 4-bit ECC or better except for
the first sector which can use 1-bit ECC. The boot ROM expects to load
a payload from NAND written using 1-bit hardware-based ECC. In short,
write SPL to NAND something like this (4 times for redundancy):
#> nandecc hw
#> nand write ${loadaddr} 0x0 ${filesize}
#> nand write ${loadaddr} 0x20000 ${filesize}
#> nand write ${loadaddr} 0x40000 ${filesize}

Then, switch back to software-based BCH8 for everything else:
#> nandecc sw bch8

Currently we copy over a number of usb_device values stored in the on stack
struct usb_device probed in usb_scan_device() to the final driver-model managed
struct usb_device in usb_child_pre_probe() through usb_device_platdata, and
then call usb_select_config() to fill in the rest.
There are 3 problems with this approach:
1) It does not fill in enough fields before calling usb_select_config(),
specifically it does not fill in ep0's maxpacketsize causing a div by zero
exception in the ehci driver.
2) It unnecessarily redoes a number of usb requests making usb probing slower
3) Calling usb_select_config() a second time fails on some usb-1 devices
plugged into usb-2 hubs, causing u-boot to not recognize these devices.
This commit fixes these issues by removing (*) the usb_select_config() call
from usb_child_pre_probe(), and instead of copying over things field by field
through usb_device_platdata, store a pointer to the in stack usb_device
(which is still valid when usb_child_pre_probe() gets called) and copy
over the entire struct.
*) Except for devices which are explictly instantiated through device-tree
rather then discovered through usb_scan_device() such as emulated usb devices
in the sandbox.

The 2/3 usb-phys on the sunxi SoCs are really a single separate functional
block, and are modelled as such in devicetree. So once we've moved all the

for the entire block from the driver-model enumeration code.
Move to this now as this also avoids problems with phy_probe being called
multiple times once we introduce ohci support. This also allows us to get rid

Since all x86 boards use spi flash as its bootloader storage media,
it makes sense to make CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH a common option.
So far only minnowmax board does not support it so undefine it in

The PicoZed is a System-on-Module board which is marketed as part of
the ZedBoard/MicroZed/etc. collection. It includes a Zynq-7000
processor.
This patch adds support that covers all the variants of the PicoZed
including the SKUs with Z7010/Z7020 and Z7015/Z7030 Zynq chips. This
patch set however only covers support for the System-on-Module and does
not cover any extra components that are available on carrier boards
(except those that are fanned out of the module itself).
More information on this board, its variants and available carrier
boards is available at: http://zedboard.org/product/picozed

Implemented fb_set_reboot_flag() for OMAP5 to set
an environment variable 'dofastboot' when reboot-bootloader called.
This environment variable will be checked in boot command and fastboot
will be called if the variable is set.
If the bootcmd env variable of OMAP5 common is overwritten with board-specific
command, then these changes will not apply.
This was originally intended for DRA7 platform, but now applies to all OMAP5.
