If fixup offset is zero then there is nothing to fix. All calculation in
this case just increase addresses by value zero which results in identity.
So in this case skip whole fixup re-calculation as it is not needed.
This is just an optimization for special case when fix_offset is zero which
skips code path which does only identity operations (meaning nothing). No
functional changes.

Current version of this function uses a lot of incorrect assumptions about
the `ranges` DT property:
* parent(#address-cells) == 2
* #size-cells == 2
* number of entries == 2
* address size of first entry == 0x1000000
* second child address entry == base + 0x1000000
Trying to increase PCIe MEM space to more than 16 MiB leads to an overlap
with PCIe IO space, and trying to define additional MEM space (as a third
entry in the `ranges` DT property) causes U-Boot to crash when booting the
kernel.

complications with clang and gcc differences.
Remove the quote operator # from compiler_attributes.h __section macro.
Convert all unquoted __section(foo) uses to quoted __section("foo").
Also convert __attribute__((section("foo"))) uses to __section("foo")
even if the __attribute__ has multiple list entry forms.

There is region left by ATF, which needs to remain in memory to provide RT
services. To prevent overwriting it by u-boot, do not provide any mapping
for this memory region, so any attempt to access it will trigger
synchronous exception.

Historically, the reset_cpu() function had an `addr` parameter which was
meant to pass in an address of the reset vector location, where the CPU
should reset to. This feature is no longer used anywhere in U-Boot as
all reset_cpu() implementations now ignore the passed value. Generic
code has been added which always calls reset_cpu() with `0` which means
this feature can no longer be used easily anyway.
Over time, many implementations seem to have "misunderstood" the
existence of this parameter as a way to customize/parameterize the reset
(e.g. COLD vs WARM resets). As this is not properly supported, the
code will almost always not do what it is intended to (because all
call-sites just call reset_cpu() with 0).
To avoid confusion and to clean up the codebase from unused left-overs
of the past, remove the `addr` parameter entirely. Code which intends
to support different kinds of resets should be rewritten as a sysreset
driver instead.

Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In
a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding
another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header
files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few
cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so
remove that include.

Hardware testing of a board using the Armada 385 has shown that an
impedance threshold setting of 0x7 performs better in an eye-diagram
test than with Marvell's recommended value 0x6.
As other boards may still perform better with Marvell's reccomended value,
a configuration option is added with a default value of 0x6.

The Linux coding style guide (Documentation/process/coding-style.rst)
clearly says:
It's a **mistake** to use typedef for structures and pointers.
Besides, using typedef for structures is annoying when you try to make
headers self-contained.
Let's say you have the following function declaration in a header:
void foo(bd_t *bd);
This is not self-contained since bd_t is not defined.
To tell the compiler what 'bd_t' is, you need to include <asm/u-boot.h>
#include <asm/u-boot.h>
void foo(bd_t *bd);
Then, the include direcective pulls in more bloat needlessly.
If you use 'struct bd_info' instead, it is enough to put a forward
declaration as follows:

When running USB compliance tests on our Armada-385 hardware platforms
we have seen some eye mask violations. Marvell's internal documentation
says: Based on silicon test results, it is recommended to change the
impedance calibration threshold setting to 0x6 prior to calibration.
Port changes from Marvell's u-boot fork[1] to address this.

Update mvebu SPL boot selection mechanism for the move to driver model
usage by ensuring that the required driver support for SPI and MMC
booting is available in SPL when the respective boot method is
selected.
Previously, all mvebu boards selected a boot method (implicitly
MVEBU_SPL_BOOT_DEVICE_SPI for many) even if SPL booting wasn't used.
This changes mvebu boot method selection to depend on SPL usage which
resolves the issue with aarch64 boards which don't use SPL getting an
implicit boot device selection resulting in unmet dependencies. The
32-bit arm boards do use SPL, but I'm led to conclude that most aren't
intentionally using the MVEBU_SPL_BOOT_DEVICE selection since none have
SPL_DM_SPI enabled in their defconfig even though they still implicitly
select the SPI boot method.
This also results in the new addition of SPL_GPIO_SUPPORT to helios4.
The mainline dts for helios4 includes the cd-gpios entry for sdhci with
identical addresses as the clearfog dts. I don't have a helios4 board
to confirm, but based on the current source conclude that the board
itself is either wired to pull the signal low for eMMC, or the default
MMC boot isn't fully functional in mainline. In either case, as far as
I can tell, including the GPIO support will at least cause no
regression.

In case when ARM Trusted Firmware changes the default address of PCIe
regions (which can be done for devices with 4 GB RAM to maximize the
amount of RAM the device can use) we add code that looks at how ATF
changed the PCIe windows in the CPU Address Decoder and changes given
device-tree blob accordingly.

Currently on Armada-37xx the mem_map structure is statically defined to
map first 2 GB of memory as RAM region, and system registers and PCIe
region device region.
This is insufficient for when there is more RAM or when for example the
PCIe windows is mapped to another address by the CPU Address Decoder.
In the case when the board has 4 GB RAM, on some boards the ARM Trusted
Firmware can move the PCIe window to another address, in order to
maximize possible usable RAM.
Also the dram_init and dram_init_banksize looks for information in
device-tree, and therefore different device trees are needed for boards
with different RAM sizes.
Therefore we add code that looks at how the ARM Trusted Firmware has
configured the CPU Address Decoder windows, and then we update the
mem_map structure and compute gd->ram_size and gd->bd->bi_dram bank
base addresses and sizes accordingly.

Update the RTC (Read Timing Control) values for PCIe memory wrappers
following an ERRATA (ERRATA# TDB). This means the PCIe accesses will
used slower memory Read Timing, to allow more efficient energy
consumption, in order to lower the minimum VDD of the memory. Will lead
to more robust memory when voltage drop occurs (VDDSEG)

At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.
Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

At present some boards generate kwbimage.cfg in the source tree
during the build. This breaks buildman testing on some systems
where the source tree is read-only. Update makefile rules to
generate it in the build tree instead.
Note some other boards have the kwbimage.cfg file written in
advance, hence we need check if the file exists in the build
tree first, otherwise we fall back to one in the source tree.

Reduce Auto Voltage Scaling VDD limit when core frequency is lower than
1600MHz. This reduces core voltage level from 1.25V to 1.15V, which
saves power.

CRS305-1G-4S has a switch chip with an integrated CPU (98DX3236) and
like some of the other similar boards requires bin_hdr.
bin_hdr (DDR3 init stage) is currently retrieved from the stock
bootloader and compiled into the kwb image.
Adds support for U-Boot, enable UART, SPI, Winbond SPI flash chip
support and writing env to SPI flash.

There is a Factory RESET button on the back side of the Turris Omnia
router. When user presses this button before powering the device up and
keeps it pressed, the microcontroller prevents the main CPU from booting
and counts how long the RESET button is being pressed (and indicates
this by lighting up front LEDs).
The idea behind this is that the user can boot the device into several
Factory RESET modes.
This patch adds support for U-Boot to read into which Factory RESET mode
the user booted the device. The value is an integer stored into the
omnia_reset environment variable. It is 0 if the button was not pressed
at all during power up, otherwise it is the number identifying the
Factory RESET mode.
This patch also changes bootcmd to a special hardcoded value if Factory
RESET button was pressed during device powerup. This special bootcmd
value sets the colors of all the LEDs on the front panel to green and
then tries to load the rescue image from the SPI flash memory and boot
it.

Testing has shown that the current DM implementation of a platform /
board specific translation offset, as its needed for the SPL on MVEBU
platforms is buggy. The translation offset is confingured too late,
after the driver bind functions are run. This may result in incorrect
address translations. With the current implementation its not possible
to configure the offset earlier, as the DM code has not run at all.
This patch now removed the set_/get_translation_offset() calls and
moves the translation offset into the GD variable translation_offset.
This variable will get used when CONFIG_TRANSLATION_OFFSET is enabled.
This option is enabled only for MVEBU on ARM32 platforms, where its
currenty needed and configured in the SPL.

The DB-XC3-24G4XG is a switch development board from Marvell. It can
either use and external CPU card such as the db-88f6820-amc or the
internal CPU that is integrated into the switch.
Add support for running U-Boot on the internal CPU and enable the USB,
SPI and NAND peripherals. For now this needs the bin_hdr from the
Marvell U-Boot for this board.

Marvell's switch chips with integrated CPUs (collectively referred to as
MSYS) share common ancestry with the Armada SoCs. Some of the IP blocks
(e.g. xor) are located at different addresses and DFX server exists as a
separate target on the MBUS (on Armada-38x it's just part of the core
complex registers).

This patch enables the PCIe port specific link capabilities configuration
for Armada XP. The weak function board_sat_r_get() was used to return
a common flag for PCIe Gen1 vs Gen2 capability for all PCIe ports. This
is now changed with this patch to return a bit per PCIe port (4 bits
in this case, bit 0 for PCIe port 0, etc).
The theadorable board uses this new feature to configure PCIe port 0
as Gen1 and all other PCIe ports as Gen2 capable. All other AXP boards
using this function are not changed in the configuration and still
configure all ports as PCIe Gen2.
This patch also removes the parameter "pex_mode" from
board_serdes_cfg_get() as this parameter was not used in any of the
implementations.

The mvebu mbus code already had most of the support required for
kirkwood. The only difference is that unlike the other mvebu targets
kirkwood doesn't have a bridge control block so the code related to
managing that needs to be compiled out.

This patch moves the Armada XP video / LCD driver to DM_VIDEO. With this
move, the legacy interface board_video_init() is removed from the
theadorable board code (only user of this video driver). The support
via DT will be added in a separate patch.
This patch also enables DM_VIDEO for the theadorable board, as this is

This is a range of stackable network switches. The SoC is Armada-385 and
there are a number of variants with differing network port
configurations. The DP variants are intended for a harsher operating
environment so they use a different i2c mux and fit industrial-temp
parts.

Some Armada 8K boards like Macchiatobin and Clearfog GT-8K use RAM from
external DIMM. Hard coding the RAM size in the device-tree is not
convenient. Fortunately, the ATF that initializes the RAM knows the size
of RAM, and U-Boot can query the ATF using a SMC call.
The ATF maps the lower 3G of RAM starting at address 0. Higher RAM is
mapped at 4G. This leaves a 1G hole between 3G and 4G for IO
peripherals. Use a second bi_dram[] entry to describe the higher RAM
area. As a result, CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS must be set to 2 to use more
than 3GB RAM.
This code in this commit is mostly taken from downstream Marvell U-Boot
code by Grzegorz Jaszczyk.

With patch 49b23e035d (pci: mvebu: Increase size of PCIe default mapping)
the mapping size for each PCI(e) controller was increased from 32MiB to
128MiB. This leads to problems on boards with multiple PCIe slots / ports
which are unable to map all PCIe ports, e.g. the Armada-XP theadorable:
DRAM: 2 GiB (667 MHz, 64-bit, ECC not enabled)
SF: Detected m25p128 with page size 256 Bytes, erase size 256 KiB, total 16 MiB
Cannot add window '4:f8', conflicts with another window
PCIe unable to add mbus window for mem at f0000000+08000000
Model: Marvell Armada XP theadorable
This patch moves the base address for the PCI(e) memory spaces from
0xe8000000 to the end of SDRAM (clipped to a max of 0xc0000000 right now).
This gives move room and flexibility for PCI(e) mappings.

The bootROM in the Armada-38x (and similar) SoC has two modes for UART
boot. The first is when the normal boot media is blank (or otherwise
missing the kwb header). The second is when the boot sequence has been
interrupted with the magic byte sequence on the UART lines.
In the first mode the bootROM routine and error code register will
indicate that there was an error booting from the configured media in
bits 7:0. In the second mode there is no error to indicate but the boot
source is provided via bits 31:28.
Handle both situations so that kwboot can be used for both boot
strapping a blank board and for intercepting a regular boot sequence.

Detect the SD/eMMC boot device at run-time. Load the environment from
the boot deice, as well as save to it.
Leave the environment offset the same as in the SPI flash.
Make SD/eMMC 0 the default environment device when the boot device is
not detected.

2), set this to 8.

Move the gdsys Controlcenter DC specific build time kwbimage.cfg
generation code into the mach-mvebu/ directory to be shared by all 32bit
mvebu platforms.
Remove board specific kwbimage.cfg files, and use the generated one
instead. These files are all identical, with two exceptions. Clearfog
and Helios4 use the sdio boot device, whereas all others use spi. Update
the defconfigs for the exceptional boards to generate the same
kwbimage.cfg as before.

Use MVEBU_SPL_BOOT_DEVICE_* to select between SPI and MMC, instead of
board specific symbols. This commit enables the boot device selection
menu to all mvebu platforms, but it is only effective on Turris Omnia
and gdsys Controlcenter DC platforms. A following commit will enable
boot selection for other platforms.

Currently mvebu sata driver is in arch/arm/mach_mvebu directory, this
patch moves it to drivers/ata directory with renaming "sata.c" to
"ahci_mvebu.c" which is aligned to Linux.
New ahci driver's kconfig option is added as AHCI_MVEBU which selects
SCSI_AHCI and is based on AHCI.

PEX_CFG_DIRECT_ACCESS was defined in ddr3_hws_hw_training_def.h despite
only being used in the serdes code. Move this definition to ctrl_pex.h
where all the other PEX defines are. Also remove the duplicate
definition of PEX_DEVICE_AND_VENDOR_ID which is already defined in
ctrl_pex.h.

This adds basic support for the Turris Mox board from CZ.NIC, which is
currently being crowdfunded on Indiegogo.
Turris Mox is as modular router based on the Armada 3720 SOC (same as
EspressoBin).
The basic module can be extended by different modules. The device tree
binary for the kernel can be dependent on which modules are connected,
and in what order. Because of this, the board specific code creates
in U-Boot a variable called module_topology, which carries this
information.

Currently CPU_V7 kconfig symbol supports only ARMv7A architectures under
armv7 folder. This led to a misconception of creating separate folders
for armv7m and armv7r. There is no reason to create separate folder for
other armv7 based architectures when it can co-exist with few Kconfig
symbols.
As a first step towards a common folder, rename CPU_V7 as CPUV7A. Later
separate Kconfig symbols can be added for CPU_V7R and CPU_V7M and
can co exist in the same folder.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

This patch added a new region of 32MiB AT 0xe800.0000
to Armada37x0's memory map. This region is supposed to

The goal of this patch is to clean up the code related to choosing SPL
MMC boot mode.
The spl_boot_mode() now is called only in spl_mmc_load_image() function,
which is only compiled in if CONFIG_SPL_MMC_SUPPORT is enabled.
To achieve the goal, all per mach/arch implementations eligible for
unification has been replaced with one __weak implementation.

The ClearFog Base boot from UART when setting the DIP switches to 01001.
Unfortunately, the SPL code sometimes fails to detect the UART boot
method at run-time. Add an alternative SAR UART boot value to fix this.
Note that this alternative value is not documented (Armada 38x Hardware
Specifications, Table 48). But experimentations showed it on the
ClearFog Base.

dram_ecc_scrubbing() had code to skip unused DRAM banks but it would not
work because mvebu_sdram_bs() returns 0 and the code was subtracting 1
before checking the size. Remove the -1 from the bank size and the +1
from the total which will skip unused banks and still calculate the
correct size. Put the -1 where it is needed for scrubbing via the xor
engine.

At present we support multiple environment drivers but there is not way to
select between them at run time. Also settings related to the position and
size of the environment area are global (i.e. apply to all locations).
Until these limitations are removed we cannot really support more than one
environment location. Adjust the location to be a choice so that only one
can be selected. By default the environment is 'nowhere', meaning that the
environment exists only in memory and cannot be saved.
Also expand the help for the 'nowhere' option and move it to the top since
it is the default.

The Turris Omnia is a open-source router created by CZ.NIC.
The code is based on the Marvell/db-88f6820-gp by Stefan Roese
with modifications from Tomas Hlavacek in the CZ.NIC turris-omnia-uboot
repository, which can be found at
https://gitlab.labs.nic.cz/turris/turris-omnia-uboot
By default, the Turris Omnia uses btrfs as the main and only filesystem,
and also loads kernel and device tree from this filesystem. Since U-Boot
does not yet support btrfs, you should not flash your Turris Omnia board
with this unless you know what you are doing.

These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..()
prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename
the existing functions to avoid confusion.
In the end we will have:
1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree
2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only
3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only
All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call
either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use.
Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file.

The dram_init and dram_init_banksize functions were using a board
specific implementation for decoding the memory banks from the fdt.
This change makes the dram_init* functions use a generic implementation
of decoding and populating memory bank and size data.

The gdsys ControlCenter Digital board is based on a Marvell Armada 38x
SOC.
It boots from SPI-Flash but can be configured to boot from SD-card for
factory programming and testing.
On board peripherals include:

Tests have shown that on some boards the default width of the
configuration pulse for the PEX link detection might lead to
non-established PCIe links (link down). Especially under certain
conditions (higher temperature) and with specific PCIe devices
(in the case on the theadorable board its a Atheros PCIe WLAN
device). To enable a board-specific detection pulse width this weak
array "serdes_pex_pulse_width[4]" is introduced which can be
overwritten if needed by a board-specific version. If the board
code does not provide a non-weak version of this variable, the
default value will be used. So nothing is changed from the
current setup on the supported board.
Many thanks to Adam from Marvell for all his insights here and
his suggestion about testing with a changed detection pulse width.

The patch implements secure booting for the mvebu architecture.
This includes:
- The addition of secure headers and all needed signatures and keys in
mkimage
- Commands capable of writing the board's efuses to both write the
needed cryptographic data and enable the secure booting mechanism
- The creation of convenience text files containing the necessary
commands to write the efuses
The KAK and CSK keys are expected to reside in the files kwb_kak.key and
kwb_csk.key (OpenSSL 2048 bit private keys) in the top-level directory.

Armada 38x has four PCI ports, not three.
The optimization in pci_init_board() seems to assume that every port has
three lanes. This is obviously wrong, and breaks support for Armada 38x.

This option should not really be user selectable. Note that on PowerPC
we currently only need BOARD_LATE_INIT when CHAIN_OF_TRUST is enabled so be
conditional on that.

Add missing L3 cache flush functionality which absence prevents
Linux kernel from normal boot in case the L3 cache is enabled
by ATF.
The L3 cache is named the "last level" cache in order to keep
the terminology similar to the ATF code.
This cache should not be disabled by u-boot since the Linux
kernel cannot activate it, so it is activates at ATF stage.
However the cache flush is required for preventing data corruption
after disabling the MMU and the data cache before passing control
to the loaded Linux image.

Not all memory is mapped in the MMU. So we need to restrict the memory
size so that U-Boot does not try to access it. Also, the internal
registers are located at 0xf000.0000 - 0xffff.ffff. Currently only 2GiB
are mapped for system memory. This is what we pass to the U-Boot
subsystem here.

The Armada8k implements 2 CPs (communication processors) and the 2nd
CP also is equipped with a COMPHY controller. This patch now loops
over all enabled MISC devices (CP110) enabled in the DT to initialize
all CPs.

This moves some of the Armada DB-88F7040 board specific files to a more
generic name: armada-8k. This is in preparation for the Armada-8k
support which will be added soon. And since both platforms share
most devices, lets also share most source files to not duplicate

Compared to the Armada 3700, the Armada 7K and 8K are much more on the
high-end side: they use a dual Cortex-A72 or a quad Cortex-A72, as
opposed to the Cortex-A53 for the Armada 3700.
The Armada 7K and 8K also use a fairly unique architecture, internally
they are composed of several components:
- One AP (Application Processor), which contains the processor itself
and a few core hardware blocks. The AP used in the Armada 7K and 8K
is called AP806, and is available in two configurations:
dual Cortex-A72 and quad Cortex-A72.
- One or two CP (Communication Processor), which contain most of the I/O
interfaces (SATA, PCIe, Ethernet, etc.). The 7K family chips have one
CP, while the 8K family chips integrate two CPs, providing two times
the number of I/O interfaces available in the CP.
The CP used in the 7K and 8K is called CP110.
All in all, this gives the following combinations:
- Armada 7020, which is a dual Cortex-A72 with one CP
- Armada 7040, which is a quad Cortex-A72 with one CP
- Armada 8020, which is a dual Cortex-A72 with two CPs
- Armada 8040, which is a quad Cortex-A72 with two CPs
This patch adds basic support for this ARMv8 based SoC into U-Boot.
Future patches will integrate other device drivers and board support,
starting with the Marvell DB-88F7040 development board.

88F6820 is a specific Armada-38x chip that is used on the DB-88F6820-GP
board. Rather than having DB_88F6820_GP and TARGET_DB_88F6820_GP which
selects the former. Rename DB_88F6820_GP to 88F6820 so that other boards
using the 88F6820 can be added.

This series moves the CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE. First, in nearly all
cases we are mirroring the values used by the Linux Kernel here. Also,
so long as (and in this case, it is true) we implement flushes in hunks
that are no larger than the smallest implementation (and given that we
mirror the Linux Kernel, again we are fine) it is OK to align higher.
The biggest changes here are that we always use 64 bytes for CPU_V7 even
if for example the underlying core is only 32 bytes (this mirrors
Linux). Second, we say ARM64 uses 64 bytes not 128 (as found in the
Linux Kernel) as we do not need multi-platform support (to this degree)
and only the Cavium ThunderX 88xx series has a use for such large
alignment.

The NAND interface on the Armada-38x series is similar to that on the
Armada-XP. The key difference is that the NAND ECC clock ratio is
provided via the DFX Server registers instead of the Core Clock.

The SPL code already knows which boot device it calls the spl_boot_mode()
on, so pass that information into the function. This allows the code of
spl_boot_mode() avoid invoking spl_boot_device() again, but it also lets
board_boot_order() correctly alter the behavior of the boot process.
The later one is important, since in certain cases, it is desired that
spl_boot_device() return value be overriden using board_boot_order().

This patch adds basic support for the Marvell A375 eval board. Tested

Currently the A375 SerDes and DDR3 init code is not intergrated. So
the SPL U-Boot is not fully functional.

This patch adds support for the Armada XP (MV78260) based theadorable
board. Its equipped with onboard DDR3, UART, ethernet, I2C, SPI NOR,
LCD and SATA (SSD) interfaces / devices.
Two defconfigs are added:
theadorable_defconfig:
The production U-Boot version with a stripped down drivers and feature
list. This removes networking, USB and PCI support.
theadorable_debug_defconfig:
The debugging / testing U-Boot version with full support for all drivers.

This adds support for the MV78230 based DS414 NAS by Synology. The
relevant bits have been extracted from the 'synogpl-5004-armadaxp'
package Synology kindly published, garnished with a fair amount of
trial-and-error.
Sadly, support is far from perfect. The major parts I have failed in
are SATA and XHCI support. Details about these and some other things
follow:
Device Tree
-----------
The device tree file armada-xp-synology-ds414.dts has been copied from
Linux and enhanced by recent U-Boot specific changes to
armada-xp-gp.dts.
SATA Support
------------
There is a Marvell 88SX7042 controller attached to PCIe which is
supported by Linux's sata_mv driver but sadly not U-Boot's sata_mv.
I'm not sure if extending the latter to support PCI devices is worth the
effort at all. Porting sata_mv from Linux exceeded my brain's
capacities. :(
XHCI Support
------------
There is an EtronTech EJ168A XHCI controller attached to PCIe which
drives the two rear USB3 ports. After a bit of playing around I managed
to get it recognized by xhci-pci, but never was able to access any
devices attached to it. Enabling it in ds414 board config shows that it
does not respond to commands for whatever reason. The (somewhat) bright
side to it is that it is not even supported in Synology's customized
U-Boot, but that also means nowhere to steal the relevant bits from.
EHCI Support
------------
This seems functional after issuing 'usb start'. At least it detects USB
storage devices, and IIRC reading from them was OK. OTOH Linux fails to
register the controller if 'usb start' wasn't given before in U-Boot.
According to Synology sources, this board seems to support USB device
(gadget?) mode. Though I didn't play around with it.
PCIe Support
------------
This is fine, but trying to gate the clocks of unused lanes will hang
PCI enum. In addition to that, pci_mvebu seems not to support DM_PCI.
DDR3 Training
-------------
Marvell/Synology uses eight PUPs instead of four. Does not look like
this is meant to be customized in mainline U-Boot at all. OTOH I have
no idea what a "PUP" actually is.
PEX Init
--------
Synology uses different values than mainline U-Boot with this patch:
pex_max_unit_get returns 2, pex_max_if_get returns 7 and
max_serdes_lines is set to 7. Not changing this seems to not have an
impact, although I'm not entirely sure it does not cause issues I am not
aware of.
Static Environment
------------------
This allows to boot stock Synology firmware at least. In order to be a
little more flexible when it comes to booting custom kernels, do not
only load zImage partition, but also rd.gz into memory. This way it is
possible to use about 7MB for kernel with piggyback initramfs.

Armada XP has support for X4 lanes, boards specify this in their
serdes_cfg. During PEX init in high_speed_env_lib.c, the configuration
is stored in GEN_PURP_RES_2_REG.
When enumerating PEX, subsequent interfaces of an X4 lane must be
skipped. Otherwise the enumeration hangs up the board.
The way this is implemented here is not exactly beautiful, but it mimics
how Marvell's BSP does it. Alternatively we could get the information
using board_serdes_cfg_get(), but that won't lead to clean code, either.

This patch adds runtime detection of the Marvell UART boot-mode (xmodem
protocol). If this boot-mode is detected, SPL will return to the
BootROM to continue the UART booting.
With this patch its now possible, to generate a U-Boot image that
can be booted either from the strapped boot-device (e.g. SPI NOR, MMC,
etc) or via the xmodem protocol from the UART. In the UART case,
the kwboot tool will dynamically insert the UART boot-device type
into the image. And also patch the load address in the header, so
that the mkimage header will be skipped (as its not expected by the
Marvell BootROM).
This simplifies the development for Armada XP / 38x based boards.
As no special images need to be generated by selecting the
MVEBU_BOOTROM_UARTBOOT Kconfig option.
Since the Kconfig option MVEBU_BOOTROM_UARTBOOT is not needed any
more, its now completely removed.

Until now, the SoC selection for the ARCH_MVEBU platforms has been done
in the config header. Using CONFIG_ARMADA_XP in a non-clear way. As
it needed to get selected for AXP and A38x based boards. This patch
now changes this to move the SoC selection to Kconfig. And also
uses CONFIG_ARCH_MVEBU as a common define for both AXP and A38x.
This makes things a bit clearer - especially for new board additions.
Additionally the defines CONFIG_SYS_MVEBU_DDR_AXP and
CONFIG_SYS_MVEBU_DDR_A38X are replaced with the already available
CONFIG_ARMADA_38X and CONFIG_ARMADA_XP.
And CONFIG_DDR3 is removed, as its not referenced anywhere.

This patch leaces the cache configuration untouched for the AXP in the
setup done by the BootROM. Resulting in the cache still being enabled
at the startup of U-Boot. This leads to a slightly faster boot to the
U-Boot prompt (or Linux of course).

This patch removes the call to arch_cpu_init() in the SPL U-Boot version.
As SPL does not need all the configuration done in this function. And
also does not need the reconfiguration of the internal register
address to 0xf1000000. This will be done by the main U-Boot later on.
This also fixes a problem with the timer not beeing initialized on AXP,
as needed for the mdelay in the setup_usb_phys(). This will now only
be called once in main U-Boot.

Add functionality to correctly disable the L2 cache on the Armada XP
and 38x platforms.
Without this, booting into Linux on ClearFog (A38x) results in a hangup
without any output on the serial console at all. Even with earlyprintk
enabled.

Until now, the L2 cache was never enabled again in U-Boot. To get
even better performance (bootup time), lets enable the L2 cache
in U-Boot. This code was taken from the Linux kernel.
A performance gain was measured on the DB-MV784MP-GP board by testing
with tftpboot and sata commands.
This patch also cleans up the L2 cache related code. And makes sure that
the L2 cache is only disabled once.
Please note that A38x still runs with L2 cache disabled. And needs
to be enabled for this SoC in a separate patch if needed or desired.

Update this driver to support driver model. As all MVEBU boards using
this driver are converted with this patch, the non-driver-model code
can be removed completely. This is also the reason why this patch
is quite big and includes a) the driver change and b) the
platform change. As its not git-bisect save otherwise.
With this conversion, some parameters are now extracted from the
DT instread of using the config header defines. The supported
properties right now are:
PHY-mode ("phy-mode") and PHY-address ("reg").
The base addresses for the ethernet controllers can be removed from
the header files as well.
Please note that this patch also removes the E1000 network driver
from some MVEBU config headers. This is necessary, as with DM_ETH
configured and the e1000 driver enabled, the PCI driver also needs
to support DM. But the MVEBU PCI(e) driver still needs to get
ported to DM. When this is done, the E1000 driver can be enabled
again.

This patch adds full DM support to the SPL on MVEBU. Currently
only serial is supported. Other drivers will follow.
This patch also adds the necessary config values for the DEBUG UART
to the MVEBU defconfig files. This came in handy while implementing
this DM support.
Additionally, the mvebu specific SPL linker script is removed and
this common one is used instead:
arch/arm/cpu/u-boot-spl.lds
This common linker script already handles all special cases. No need
to reinvent the wheel for MVEBU here.

A lot of extra configuration information was left over in the
Marvell serdes and DDR3 initialization code for boards that
U-boot does not support. Remove this extra config information,
and the concept of fixing up board topologies with information
loaded from an EEPROM. If this needs to be done, it should be
handled in the board file, not in core code.

This patch adds driver model support for some Marvell MVEBU SoC's. Including
Armada XP and 38x. All 3 currently mainlined boards are converted. DM is now
selected automatically for MVEBU platforms.
With this DM support now available for MVEBU, hardcoding the base addresses
and other information is not necessary any more. Probing should be done
by using the values provided via the device tree now instead. For this
the driver also need to be converted to DM. Patches for some of the drivers
will follow.

Instead of calling board_init_r() directly from board_init_f(), just
return from board_init_f(). This will make the code continue executing
in crt0.S _main(), from which the board_init_r() is called. This patch
aligns the MVEBU SPL with the correct SPL design as well as reduces
the stack utilisation slightly.

When running on the AXP I sometimes noticed a strange behavior. As some
characters are not echoed on the U-Boot prompt. Not disabling the
lowlevel_init code, especially calling cpu_init_cp15() in the main
U-Boot seems to solve this issue.

This patch enables the use of the kwboot tool, to boot mainline U-Boot
on the Marvell Armada XP/38x SoC's. This is done by returning to the
SoC's BootROM after SPL has initialized the SDRAM. We need to make sure
to not reconfigure the internal register space and MBARs. Otherwise
the BootROM will not be able to continue after SPL jumps back to it.
To use this feature, please don't forget to change the BOOT_FROM line
in your board specfic kwbimage.cfg file this way:

Currently booting on A38x is broken. As the current code tries to detect
the SoC family to disable the MMU for the A38x at runtime. But before the
internal registers are switched to the new location (0xf100.0000), this
runtime detection does not work. As all macros / defines are already
assigned to the new location at 0xf100.0000. But the registers are sill
mapped to the default location at 0xd000.0000.
This patch now makes sure, no such runtime detection is used before
the internal registers are configured to the new location. After this,
the remaining cache cleanup is executed.

This adds a PCI driver for the controllers found on Marvell MVEBU SoCs.
Besides the driver, this patch also removes the statically defined
PCI MBUS windows. As they are not needed anymore, since this PCIe
driver now creates the windows dynamically.
Tested on Armada XP db-mv784mp-gp eval board using an Intel E1000
PCIe card in all 3 PCIe slots. And on the Armada 38x db-88f6820-gp
eval board using this Intel E1000 PCIe card in the PCIe 0 slot.

This patch introduces the SDRAM scrubbing for ECC enabled board
to fill/initialize the ECC bytes. This is done via the XOR engine
to speed up the process. The scrubbing is a 2-stage process:
1) SPL scrubs the area 0 - 0x100.0000 (16MiB) for the main U-Boot
2) U-Boot scrubs the remaining SDRAM area(s)
