fb64cda579 MIPS: Abstract cache op loops with a macro
The various cache maintenance routines perform a number of loops over
cache lines. Rather than duplicate the code for performing such loops,
abstract it out into a new cache_loop macro which performs an arbitrary
number of cache ops on a range of addresses. This reduces duplication in
the existing L1 cache maintenance code & will allow for not adding
further duplication when introducing L2 cache support.

372286217f MIPS: Split I & D cache line size config
Allow L1 Icache & L1 Dcache line size to be specified separately, since
there's no architectural mandate that they be the same. The
[id]cache_line_size functions are tidied up to take advantage of the
fact that the Kconfig entries are always present to simply check them
for zero rather than needing to #ifdef on their presence.

ace3be4f15 MIPS: Move cache sizes to Kconfig
Move details of the L1 cache line sizes & total sizes into Kconfig,
defaulting to 0. A new CONFIG_SYS_CACHE_SIZE_AUTO Kconfig entry is
introduced to allow platforms to select auto-detection of cache sizes,
and it defaults to being enabled if none of the cache sizes are set by
the configuration (ie. sizes are all the default 0), and code is
adjusted to #ifdef on that rather than on the definition of the sizes
(which will always be defined even if 0).

2e4cc1c5d4 MIPS: Use CPHYSADDR to implement mips32 virt_to_phys
Use CPHYSADDR to implement the virt_to_phys function for converting from
a virtual to a physical address for MIPS32, much as is already done for
MIPS64. This allows for virt_to_phys to work regardless of whether the
address being translated is in kseg0 or kseg1, unlike the previous
subtraction based approach which only worked for addresses in kseg0.
This allows for drivers to provide an address to virt_to_phys without
needing to manually ensure that kseg1 addresses are converted to
equivalent kseg0 addresses first.

This patch is equivalent to this Linux patch currently waiting to be

c52ebea1cc MIPS: Support for targetting MIPSr6
Add support for targetting MIPS32r6 & MIPS64r6 systems, in the same way

reused, so it is not practical to run U-Boot built for earlier revisions
on a MIPSr6 system. Update their Kconfig help text to reflect that.

fbb0de088b mips: cache: Bulletproof the code against cornercases
This patch makes sure that the flush/invalidate_dcache_range() functions
can handle corner-case calls like this -- invalidate_dcache_range(0, 0, 0);
This call is valid and is happily produced by USB EHCI code for example.
The expected behavior of the cache function(s) in this case is that they
will do no operation, since the size is zero.

The current implementation though has a problem where such invocation will
result in a hard CPU hang. This is because under such conditions, where the
start_addr = 0 and stop = 0, the addr = 0 and aend = 0xffffffe0 . The loop
will then try to iterate over the entire address space, which in itself is
wrong. But iterating over the entire address space might also hit some odd
address which will cause bus hang. The later happens on the Atheros MIPS.

f53830e74e MIPS: kconfig: add option for MIPS_L1_CACHE_SHIFT
Add Kconfig symbol for L1 cache shift like the kernel does.
The value of CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE is not a reliable source

If CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE is not defined by a board, the
cache sizes are automatically detected and ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN

The default value for CONFIG_MIPS_L1_CACHE_SHIFT is 5 which
corresponds to 32 Bytes. All current MIPS boards already used
that value. While on it, fix the Malta board to use a value of 6

2bb5b63879 MIPS: bootm: rework and fix broken bootm code
The move to 'generic board' as well as changes in the generic
bootm code broke the boot of FIT uImage's. Especially uImage's
with additional initramfs images or FDT's do not work anymore.

Refactor the bootm code to work again with the generic bootm code.

Always relocate ramdisk and FDT in step 'bootm prep' because the
generic bootm code does this only for legacy uImage's.

Move the step 'bootm cmdline' to 'bootm prep' because the Linux
kernel parameters rd_start and rd_size have to be initialized after
the relocation of the ramdisk.

Furthermore support the step 'bootm fake'.

73a4152b25 mips: Use unsigned int when reading c0 registers
In commit a18a477 (MIPS: use common code from lib/time.c) MIPS platforms
started using common the common timer functions which are based around
the fact that many platforms have a 32-bit free running counter register
that can be used see commit 8dfafdd (Introduce common timer functions).

Even MIPS64 has such a 32-bit register (some have an additional 64-bit free
running counter, but that's something for another time).

The problem is that in __read_32bit_c0_register() we read the value from
this register into an _signed_ int and as it's returned up the call
chain to timer_read_counter() it gets assigned to an unsigned long. On a
32-bit system there is no problem. On a 64-bit system odd things happen,
sign extension seems to kick in and all of a sudden if the counter
register happens to have the MSb (i.e. the sign bit) set the negative
int gets sign extended into a very large unsigned long value. This in
turn throws out things from get_ticks() up.

Update __read_32bit_c0_register() and __read_32bit_c0_ctrl_register() to
use "unsigned int res;" instead of "int res;". There seems to be little
reason to treat these register values as signed. They are either
counters (which by definition are unsigned) or are made up of various
bit fields to be interpreted as per the CPU datasheet.

cba1da495d include: move various macros to include/linux/kernel.h
U-Boot has imported various utility macros from Linux
scattering them to various places without consistency.

In include/common.h are min, max, min3, max3, ARRAY_SIZE, ALIGN,
container_of, DIV_ROUND_UP, etc.
In include/linux/compat.h are min_t, max_t, round_up, round_down,
etc.
We also have duplicated defines of min_t in some *.c files.

Moreover, we are suffering from too cluttered include/common.h.

This commit moves various macros that originate in
include/linux/kernel.h of Linux to their original position.

Note:
This commit simply moves the macros; the macros roundup,
min, max, min2, max3, ARRAY_SIZE are different
from those of Linux at this point.

265072ba75 MIPS: add .padding section to linker script
Commit 79fd7e649e

    MIPS: always keep all sections in u-boot ELF binary.

    Always keep all sections in u-boot ELF binary. Move all unneeded
    sections after _end to avoid allocating space in the final binary.
    Also remove .deadcode section which is now obsolete.

removed section .deadcode because the original symptoms were not
visible anymore. Unfortuneatly the binutils bug still exists.

The size of .rel.dyn section is often bigger than needed for all
entries. But objcopy only allocates space as much as required for all
reloc entries. Thus there is a gap between the last entry and
__rel_dyn_end in u-boot.bin. If u-boot is booted from RAM (e.g. in
SPL scenarios) that area could contain garbage data which could lead
to CPU exceptions during relocation.

 - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig
    set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board
 - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig

(This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script
based on boards.cfg)

In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under
arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory.
It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the
command line for cross compile.

But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line.
Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done.
That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a
single directory ./configs/.

cd2e46cb38 kbuild: add CONFIG_ prefix to USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC
Before this commit, USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC was defined in
arch-specific config.mk and referenced in
arch/$(ARCH)/lib/Makefile.

We are not happy about parsing config.mk again and again.
We have to keep the same behavior with a different way.

By adding "CONFIG_" prefix, this macro appears
in include/autoconf.mk, include/spl-autoconf.mk.
(And treating USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC as CONFIG macro
is reasonable enough.)

Tegra SoC family defined USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC as "yes"
in arch/arm/cpu/arm720t/tegra*/config.mk,
whereas did not define it in arch/arm/cpu/armv7/tegra*/config.mk.

It means Tegra enables PRIVATE_LIBGCC only for SPL.
We can describe the same behavior by adding

  #ifdef CONFIG_SPL_BUILD
  # define CONFIG_USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC
  #endif

to include/configs/tegra-common.h.

9e4140329e kbuild: change out-of-tree build
This commit changes the working directory
where the build process occurs.

Before this commit, build process occurred under the source
tree for both in-tree and out-of-tree build.

That's why we needed to add $(obj) prefix to all generated
files in makefiles like follows:
  $(obj)u-boot.bin:  $(obj)u-boot

Here, $(obj) is empty for in-tree build, whereas it points
to the output directory for out-of-tree build.

And our old build system changes the current working directory
with "make -C <sub-dir>" syntax when descending into the
sub-directories.

On the other hand, Kbuild uses a different idea
to handle out-of-tree build and directory descending.

The build process of Kbuild always occurs under the output tree.
When "O=dir/to/store/output/files" is given, the build system
changes the current working directory to that directory and
restarts the make.

Kbuild uses "make -f $(srctree)/scripts/Makefile.build obj=<sub-dir>"
syntax for descending into sub-directories.
(We can write it like "make $(obj)=<sub-dir>" with a shorthand.)
This means the current working directory is always the top
of the output directory.

10473d0490 malta: use unmapped flash base address
The physical base address of the NOR flash is 0x1e000000
on the Malta boards. The hardware also maps the first 4MiB
of the flash into the 0x1fc00000-0x1fffffff range.

Currently, U-Boot uses the mapped address to access the
flash, which does not work in recent qemu versions.

Since commit a427338b222b43197c2776cbc996936df0302f51
(mips_malta: correct reading MIPS revision at 0x1fc00010)
writing to the mapped address space causes a CPU exception.
Due to the exception, U-Boot hangs during boot when it tries
to detect the CFI flash chip.

Use the correct physical address for the MALTA_FLASH_BASE
constant to fix the problem. In order to avoid relocation
problems, also update the CONFIG_SYS_{TEXT,MONITOR}_BASE
constants.

The change makes it possible to start U-Boot on a Malta
board emulated with Qemu 1.6.1 and 1.7.0-rc0. It also
works on older versions (tested with 1.1.1, 1.2.2, 1.4.2,

baf37f06c5 malta: support for coreFPGA6 boards
This patch adds support for running on Malta boards using coreFPGA6
core cards, including support for the msc01 system controller used
with them. The system controller is detected at runtime allowing one
U-boot binary to run on a Malta with either.

Due to the PCI I/O base differing between Maltas using gt64120 & msc01
system controllers, the UART setup is modified slightly. A second UART
is added so that there is one pointing at the correct address for each
system controller. The Malta board then defines its own
default_serial_console function to select the correct one at runtime.
The incorrect UART will simply not function.

Tested on:
  - A coreFPGA6 Malta running interAptiv and proAptiv bitstreams, both
    with and without an L2 cache.

fa476f75bf mips32: detect L1 cache sizes if they're not defined
For boards such as the MIPS Malta with an FPGA core card it is desirable
to be able to detect the L1 cache sizes at runtime, since they are not
dependant upon the board but on the FPGA bitstream in use. This patch
performs that detection when the CONFIG_SYS_[DI]CACHE_SIZE macros are
not defined by the board configuration. In cases where the sizes are
detected this patch also removes the restriction that the I-cache &
D-cache line sizes must be the same, as this is not necessarily true.

If the cache sizes are defined by a configuration then they will be
hardcoded as before, so this patch will not add overhead to such
boards.

4b17645d5d MIPS: bootm: drop obsolete Qemu specific bootm implementation
The Qemu specific bootm implementation was intended for a special
Qemu target in Linux kernel. But this target has been dropped in
v2.6.25-rc1 by commit 302922e5f6901eb6f29c58539631f71b3d9746b8

    Author: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
    Date:   Tue Jan 29 10:15:02 2008 +0000

    [MIPS] Qemu: Remove platform.

    The Qemu platform was originally implemented to have an easily supportable
    platform until Qemu reaches a state where it emulates a real world system.
    Since the latest release Qemu is capable of emulating the MIPSsim and
    Malta platforms, so this goal has been reached. The Qemu plaform is also
    rather underfeatured so less useful than a Malta emulation.

Thus the special bootm implementation is obsolete by now and can be
dropped. The Qemu support in U-Boot is going to be replaced by MIPS Malta
board support.

1865286466 Introduce generic link section.h symbol files
We create a separate header file for link symbols defined by the link
scripts. It is helpful to have these all in one place and try to
make them common across architectures. Since Linux already has a similar
file, we bring this in even though many of the symbols there are not
relevant to us.

Each architecture has its own asm/sections.h where symbols specifc to
that architecture can be added. For now everything except AVR32 just
includes the generic header.

One change is needed in arch/avr32/lib/board.c to make this conversion
work.

ef123c5253 Refactor linker-generated arrays
Refactor linker-generated array code so that symbols
which were previously linker-generated are now compiler-
generated. This causes relocation records of type
R_ARM_ABS32 to become R_ARM_RELATIVE, which makes
code which uses LGA able to run before relocation as
well as after.

Note: this affects more than ARM targets, as linker-

5cb48582ac Add architecture-specific global data
We plan to move architecture-specific data into a separate structure so

As a first step, create struct arch_global_data to hold these fields.

This patch applies to all archs at once. I can split it if this is really
a pain.

6d86227880 MIPS: xburst: simplify relocation offset calculation

Saving the parameters in advance unnecessarily complicates
the code. The destination address is already saved in the

Change the code to compute the size parameter right

f321b0f99f MIPS: start.S: set sp register directly
The current code uses two instructions to load
the stack pointer into the 'sp' register.

This results in the following assembly code:

    468:   3c088040        lui     t0,0x8040
    46c:   251d0000        addiu   sp,t0,0

The first instuction loads the stack pointer into
the 't0' register then the value of the 'sp' register
is computed by adding zero to the value of the 't0'
register. The same issue present on the 64-bit version
as well:

    56c:   3c0c8040        lui     t0,0x8040
    570:   659d0000        daddiu  sp,t0,0

Change the code to load the stack pointer directly
into the 'sp' register. The generated code is functionally
equivalent to the previous version but it is simpler.

  32-bit:
    468:   3c1d8040        lui     sp,0x8040

14fdd1a8bf MIPS: start{, 64}.S: fill branch delay slots with NOP instructions
The romReserved and romExcHandle handlers are
accessed by a branch instruction however the
delay slots of those instructions are not filled.

Because the start.S uses the 'noreorder' directive,
the assembler will not fill the delay slots either,
and leads to the following assembly code:

  0000056c <romReserved>:
   56c:   1000ffff        b       56c <romReserved>

  00000570 <romExcHandle>:
   570:   1000ffff        b       570 <romExcHandle>

is placed into the delay slot of the first branch
instruction, which is not allowed on the MIPS

c60795f41d usb: use linux/usb/ch9.h instead of usbdescriptors.h
Linux usb/ch9.h seems to have all the same information (and more)
as usbdescriptors.h so use the former instead of the later one.

As a consequense of this change USB_SPEED_* values don't correspond
directly to EHCI speed encoding anymore, I've added necessary
recoding in EHCI driver. Also there is no point to put speed into
pipe anymore so it's removed and a bunch of host drivers fixed to
look at usb_device->speed instead.

Old usbdescriptors.h included is not removed as it seems to be
used by old USB device code.

This makes usb.h and usbdevice.h incompatible. Fortunately the
only place that tries to include both are the old MUSB code and
it needs usb.h only for USB_DMA_MINALIGN used in aligned attribute
on musb_regs structure but this attribute seems to be unneeded
(old MUSB code doesn't support any DMA at all).

This patch converts the old method of creating a list of command
onto the new LG-arrays code. The old u_boot_cmd section is converted
to new u_boot_list_cmd subsection and LG-array macros used as needed.

Minor adjustments had to be made to the common code to work with the
LG-array macros, mostly the fixup_cmdtable() calls are now passed the
ll_entry_start and ll_entry_count instead of linker-generated symbols.

The command.c had to be adjusted as well so it would use the newly

80421fcc3e MIPS: Ingenic XBurst Jz4740 processor support
Jz4740 is a multimedia application processor targeting for mobile
devices like e-Dictionary, eBook, portable media player (PMP) and
GPS navigator. Jz4740 is powered by Ingenic 360 MHz XBurst CPU core
(JzRISC), in which RISC/SIMD/DSP hybrid instruction set architecture
provides high integration, high performance and low power consumption.

JzRISC incorporated in Jz4740 is the advanced and power-efficient
32-bit RISC core, compatible with MIPS32, with 16K I-Cache and 16K
D-Cache, and can operate at speeds up to 400 MHz.

On-chip modules such as LCD controller, embedded audio codec, multi-
channel SAR-ADC, AC97/I2S controller and camera I/F offer a rich
suite of peripherals for multimedia application. NAND controller
(SLC/MLC), USB (host 1.1 and device 2.0), UART, I2C, SPI, etc. are
also available.

For more info about Ingenic XBurst Jz4740:

This patch introduces XBurst CPU support in U-Boot. It's compatible
with MIPS32, but requires a bit different cache maintenance, timer
routines, and boot mechanism using USB boot tool, so XBurst support
can go into a separate new home, cpu/xburst/.

6d8962e814 Switch from archive libraries to partial linking
Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols
found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of
binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not
extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols".

This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead
of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in
linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended.
This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function
cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is
inspired.

The name of each former library archive is preserved except for
extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates
references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker
scripts.

This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but
include source files that depend these disabled features in the build,
resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include:
- disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS;
- enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE.

25ddd1fb0a Replace CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE by auto-generated value
CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not
being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files.
Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not
reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into
GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the
asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be
deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all
files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file.

No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar
changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro
definitions as well.

ea882baf9c New implementation for internal handling of environment variables.
Motivation:

* Old environment code used a pessimizing implementation:
  - variable lookup used linear search => slow
  - changed/added variables were added at the end, i. e. most
    frequently used variables had the slowest access times => slow
  - each setenv() would calculate the CRC32 checksum over the whole
    environment block => slow
* "redundant" envrionment was locked down to two copies
* No easy way to implement features like "reset to factory defaults",
  or to select one out of several pre-defined (previously saved) sets
  of environment settings ("profiles")
* No easy way to import or export environment settings

======================================================================

API Changes:

- Variable names starting with '#' are no longer allowed

  I didn't find any such variable names being used; it is highly
  recommended to follow standard conventions and start variable names
  with an alphanumeric character

- "printenv" will now print a backslash at the end of all but the last
  lines of a multi-line variable value.

  Multi-line variables have never been formally defined, allthough
  there is no reason not to use them. Now we define rules how to deal
  with them, allowing for import and export.

- Function forceenv() and the related code in saveenv() was removed.
  At the moment this is causing build problems for the only user of
  this code (schmoogie - which has no entry in MAINTAINERS); may be
  fixed later by implementing the "env set -f" feature.

Inconsistencies:

- "printenv" will '\\'-escape the '\n' in multi-line variables, while
  "printenv var" will not do that.

======================================================================

Advantages:

- "printenv" output much better readable (sorted)
- faster!
- extendable (additional variable properties can be added)
- new, powerful features like "factory reset" or easy switching
  between several different environment settings ("profiles")

Disadvantages:

- Image size grows by typically 5...7 KiB (might shrink a bit again on
  systems with redundant environment with a following patch series)

======================================================================

Implemented:

- env command with subcommands:

  - env print [arg ...]

    same as "printenv": print environment

  - env set [-f] name [arg ...]

    same as "setenv": set (and delete) environment variables

    ["-f" - force setting even for read-only variables - not
    implemented yet.]

  - end delete [-f] name

    not implemented yet

    ["-f" - force delete even for read-only variables]

  - env save

    same as "saveenv": save environment

  - env export [-t | -b | -c] addr [size]

    export internal representation (hash table) in formats usable for
    persistent storage or processing:

	-t:	export as text format; if size is given, data will be
		padded with '\0' bytes; if not, one terminating '\0'
		will be added (which is included in the "filesize"
		setting so you can for exmple copy this to flash and
		keep the termination).
	-b:	export as binary format (name=value pairs separated by
		'\0', list end marked by double "\0\0")
	-c:	export as checksum protected environment format as
		used for example by "saveenv" command
	addr:	memory address where environment gets stored
	size:	size of output buffer

	With "-c" and size is NOT given, then the export command will
	format the data as currently used for the persistent storage,
	i. e. it will use CONFIG_ENV_SECT_SIZE as output block size and
	prepend a valid CRC32 checksum and, in case of resundant
	environment, a "current" redundancy flag. If size is given, this
	value will be used instead of CONFIG_ENV_SECT_SIZE; again, CRC32
	checksum and redundancy flag will be inserted.

	With "-b" and "-t", always only the real data (including a
	terminating '\0' byte) will be written; here the optional size
	argument will be used to make sure not to overflow the user
	provided buffer; the command will abort if the size is not
	sufficient. Any remainign space will be '\0' padded.

        On successful return, the variable "filesize" will be set.
        Note that filesize includes the trailing/terminating '\0'
        byte(s).

        Usage szenario: create a text snapshot/backup of the current
	settings:

		=> env export -t 100000
		=> era ${backup_addr} +${filesize}
		=> cp.b 100000 ${backup_addr} ${filesize}

	Re-import this snapshot, deleting all other settings:

		=> env import -d -t ${backup_addr}

  - env import [-d] [-t | -b | -c] addr [size]

    import external format (text or binary) into hash table,
    optionally deleting existing values:

	-d:	delete existing environment before importing;
		otherwise overwrite / append to existion definitions
	-t:	assume text format; either "size" must be given or the
		text data must be '\0' terminated
	-b:	assume binary format ('\0' separated, "\0\0" terminated)
	-c:	assume checksum protected environment format
	addr:	memory address to read from
	size:	length of input data; if missing, proper '\0'
		termination is mandatory

  - env default -f

    reset default environment: drop all environment settings and load
    default environment

  - env ask name [message] [size]

    same as "askenv": ask for environment variable

  - env edit name

    same as "editenv": edit environment variable

  - env run

    same as "run": run commands in an environment variable

======================================================================

TODO:

- drop default env as implemented now; provide a text file based
  initialization instead (eventually using several text files to
  incrementally build it from common blocks) and a tool to convert it
  into a binary blob / object file.

- It would be nice if we could add wildcard support for environment
  variables; this is needed for variable name auto-completion,
  but it would also be nice to be able to say "printenv ip*" or
  "printenv *addr*"

- Some boards don't link any more due to the grown code size:
  DU405, canyonlands, sequoia, socrates.

- Dropping forceenv() causes build problems on schmoogie

  flash only => needs testing!!

91a76751a0 Make getenv() work before relocation.
So far, getenv() would work before relocation is most cases, even
though it was not intended to be used that way. When switching to a
hash table based implementation, this would break a number of boards.

For convenience, we make getenv() check if it's running before
relocation and, if so, use getenv_f() internally.

Note that this is limited to simple cases, as we use a small static
buffer (32 bytes) in the global data for this purpose.

For this reason, it is also not a good idea to convert all current
uses of getenv_f() into getenv() - some of the existing use cases need
to be able to deal with longer variable values, so getenv_f() is still
needed and recommended for use before relocation.

cdb749778a Rename getenv_r() into getenv_f()
While running from flash, i. e. before relocation, we have only a
limited C runtime environment without writable data segment. In this
phase, some configurations (for example with environment in EEPROM)
must not use the normal getenv(), but a special function. This
function had been called getenv_r(), with the idea that the "_r"
suffix would mean the same as in the _r_eentrant versions of some of
the C library functions (for example getdate vs. getdate_r, getgrent
vs. getgrent_r, etc.).

Unfortunately this was a misleading name, as in U-Boot the "_r"
generally means "running from RAM", i. e. _after_ relocation.

To avoid confusion, rename into getenv_f() [as "running from flash"]

54841ab50c Make sure that argv[] argument pointers are not modified.
The hush shell dynamically allocates (and re-allocates) memory for the
argument strings in the "char *argv[]" argument vector passed to
commands. Any code that modifies these pointers will cause serious
corruption of the malloc data structures and crash U-Boot, so make
sure the compiler can check that no such modifications are being done
by changing the code into "char * const argv[]".

This modification is the result of debugging a strange crash caused
after adding a new command, which used the following argument
processing code which has been working perfectly fine in all Unix
systems since version 6 - but not so in U-Boot:

int main (int argc, char **argv)
{
	while (--argc > 0 && **++argv == '-') {
/* ====> */	while (*++*argv) {
			switch (**argv) {
			case 'd':
				debug++;
				break;
			...
			default:
				usage ();
			}
		}
	}
	...
}

The line marked "====>" will corrupt the malloc data structures and
usually cause U-Boot to crash when the next command gets executed by
the shell. With the modification, the compiler will prevent this with
an
	error: increment of read-only location '*argv'

N.B.: The code above can be trivially rewritten like this:

	while (--argc > 0 && **++argv == '-') {
		char *arg = *argv;
		while (*++arg) {
			switch (*arg) {
			...
