4cf9e464f7 misc: Add simple driver for some Nuvoton NCT6102D devices
This simple driver provides some functions to control some of the
integrated devices. The watchdog is enabled per default. This driver
adds a function to disable the watchdog. Also the internal legacy
UART (io address 0x3f8/0x2f8) is enabled per default.

73dd5c4cfe misc: add Tegra BPMP driver
The Tegra BPMP (Boot and Power Management Processor) is a separate
auxiliary CPU embedded into Tegra to perform power management work, and
controls related features such as clocks, resets, power domains, PMIC I2C
bus, etc. This driver provides the core low-level communication path by
which feature-specific drivers (such as clock) can make requests to the
BPMP. This driver is similar to an MFD driver in the Linux kernel. It is
unconditionally selected by CONFIG_TEGRA186 since virtually any Tegra186
build of U-Boot will need the feature.

b647f55420 misc: add "call" uclass op
The call op requests that the callee pass a message to the underlying HW
or device, wait for a response, and then pass back the response error code
and message to the callee. It is useful for drivers that represent some
kind of messaging or IPC channel to a remote device.

d7e28918aa i2c_eeprom: Add reading support
This patch implements the reading functionality for the generic I2C
EEPROM driver, which was just a non-functional stub until now.

Since the page size will be of importance for the writing support, we
add suitable members to the private data structure to keep track of it.

Compatibility strings for a range of at24c* chips are added.

1163625898 Rename reset to sysreset
The current reset API implements a method to reset the entire system.
In the near future, I'd like to introduce code that implements the device
tree reset bindings; i.e. the equivalent of the Linux kernel's reset API.
This controls resets to individual HW blocks or external chips with reset
signals. It doesn't make sense to merge the two APIs into one since they
have different semantic purposes. Resolve the naming conflict by renaming
the existing reset API to sysreset instead, so the new reset API can be
called just reset.

2e82e745a4 x86: qemu: move x86 specific operations out of qfw core

fcf5c04193 x86: qemu: split qfw command interface and qfw core
This patch splits qfw command interface and qfw core function into two
files, and introduces a new Kconfig option (CONFIG_QFW) for qfw core.

Now when qfw command interface is enabled, it will automatically select
qfw core. This patch also makes the ACPI table generation select
CONFIG_QFW.

73223f0e1b Kconfig: Move CONFIG_FIT and related options to Kconfig
There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are
still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this.

Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration:

   CONFIG_FIT
   CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP
   CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP
   CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE
   CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH
   CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE
   CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS
   CONFIG_RSA

Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure
this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is
enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the
image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can
be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot
and SPL.

Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing.

serial ports for legacy applications, 16 GPIO pins and some other
functionalities like power management.

9f3183d2d6 armv8/fsl_lsch3: Change arch to fsl-layerscape
There are two LS series processors are built on ARMv8 Layersacpe
architecture currently, LS2085A and LS1043A. They are based on
ARMv8 core although use different chassis, so create fsl-layerscape
to refactor the common code for the LS series processors which also
paves the way for adding LS1043A platform.

13cfbe5135 allow LED initialization without STATUS_LED_BOOT
For current U-Boot to initialize status LEDs via status_led_init(), it
is required to have both CONFIG_STATUS_LED and STATUS_LED_BOOT defined.
This may be a particular concern with GPIO LEDs, where __led_init() is
required to correctly set up the GPIO (gpio_request and
gpio_direction_output). Without STATUS_LED_BOOT the initialization isn't
called, which could leave the user with a non-functional "led" command -
due to the fact that the LED routines in gpio_led.c use gpio_set_value()
just fine, but the GPIO never got set up properly in the first place.

I think having CONFIG_STATUS_LED is sufficient to justify a
corresponding call to status_led_init(), even with no STATUS_LED_BOOT
defined. To do so, common/board_r.c needs call that routine, so it now
is exposed via status_led.h.

d375ebbcb6 add generic stubs for GPIO LEDs
For boards that support LEDs driven via GPIO (CONFIG_GPIO_LED),
it may be useful to have some generic stubs (wrapper functions)
for the "colored" LEDs.

This allows defining STATUS_LED_* values directly to GPIO numbers,
e.g.: #define STATUS_LED_GREEN	248 /* = PH24 */

To keep those optional, it's probably best to introduce an additional
configuration setting. I've chosen CONFIG_GPIO_LED_STUBS for that.
Placing the code in drivers/misc/gpio_led.c also ensures that it
automatically depends on CONFIG_GPIO_LED too.

7bb91dd109 sandbox: Correct operaion of 'reset' command
Currently 'reset' only works with the test device tree. When run without a
device tree, or with the normal device tree, the following error is
displayed:

   Reset not supported on this platform

Fix the driver and the standard device tree to avoid this.

7296a02358 mxc: ocotp fix hole in shadow registers
There is a hole in shadow registers address map of size 0x100
between bank 5 and bank 6 on iMX6QP, iMX6DQ, iMX6SDL, iMX6SX and iMX6UL.
Bank 5 ends at 0x6F0 and Bank 6 starts at 0x800. When reading the fuses,
we should account for this hole in address space.

Similar hole exists between bank 14 and bank 15 of size
0x80 on iMX6QP, iMX6DQ, iMX6SDL and iMX6SX.
Note: iMX6SL has only 0-7 banks and there is no hole.
Note: iMX6UL doesn't have this one.

When reading, we use register offset, so need to account for holes
to get the correct address.
When writing, we use bank/word index, there is no need to account
for holes, always use bank/word index from fuse map.

d4b8b5d46e mxs_ocotp: Shift the HBUS divider correctly
When the original HBUS divider value is retrieved in mxs_ocotp_scale_hclk()
for the purpose or restoring it back later, the value is not shifted by the
HBUS divider offset in that register. This is not a problem, since the shift
is zero on all MXS hardware. Add the shift anyway, for completeness and in
case FSL ever decides to re-use this driver on future designs.

03c22449c5 arm/ls102xa:add hwconfig setting to support disable unused devices
DEVDISRn registers provides a mechanism for gating clocks of IP blocks
that are not used. Here we implement hwconfig option to allow users
to disable unused peripherals on the board.

For ex. If eSDHC/qDMA/eDMA are unused and with disabled status in dts,
User can enable CONFIG_FSL_DEVICE_DISABLE and set "devdis:esdhc,qdma,edma"
in hwconfig, thus ESDHC controller & eDMA/qDMA will be clock gated to
save more power.

f48eaf01b2 cros_ec: Support the LDO access method used by spring
Add a driver to support the special LDO access used by spring. This is a
custom method in the cros_ec protocol - it does not use an I2C
pass-through.

There are two implementation choices:

1. Write a special LDO driver which can talk across the EC. Duplicate all
the logic from TPS65090 for retrying when the LDO fails to come up.

2. Write a special I2C bus driver which pretends to be a TPS65090 and
transfers reads and writes using the LDO message.

Either is distasteful. The latter method is chosen since it results in less
code duplication and a fairly simple (30-line) implementation of the core
logic.

The crosec 'ldo' subcommand could be removed (since i2c md/mw will work
instead) but is retained as a convenience.

cc456bd7df dm: cros_ec: Convert the I2C tunnel code to use driver model
The Chrome OS EC supports tunnelling through to an I2C bus on the EC. This
currently uses a copy of the I2C command code and a special 'crosec'
sub-command.

With driver model we can define an I2C bus which tunnels through to the EC,
and use the normal 'i2c' command to access it. This simplifies the code and
removes some duplication.

Add an I2C driver which tunnels through to the EC. Adjust the EC code to
support binding child devices so that it can be set up. Adjust the existing
I2C xfer function to fit driver model better.

For now the old code remains to allow things to still work. It will be

f9917454d5 dm: Add a system reset uclass
It is common for system reset to be available at multiple levels in modern
hardware. For example, an SoC may provide a reset option, and a board may
provide its own reset for reasons of security or thoroughness. It is useful
to be able to model this hardware without hard-coding the behaviour in the
SoC or board. Also there is a distinction sometimes between resetting just
the CPU (leaving GPIO state alone) and resetting all the PMICs, just cutting
power.

To achieve this, add a simple system reset uclass. It allows multiple devices
to provide reset functionality and provides a way to walk through them,
requesting a particular reset type until is it provided.

3fbb78711c cros_ec: exynos: Match up device tree with kernel version
The U-Boot device trees are slightly different in a few places. Adjust them
to remove most of the differences. Note that U-Boot does not support the
concept of interrupts as distinct from GPIOs, so this difference remains.

For sandbox, use the same keyboard file as for ARM boards and drop the
host emulation bus which seems redundant.

d0cff03e18 dm: spi: Move slave details to child platdata
At present we go through various contortions to store the SPI slave's chip
select in its private data. This only exists when the slave is active so
must be set up when it is probed. Until the device is probed we don't
actually know what chip select it will appear on.

However, now that we can support per-child platform data, we can use that
instead. This allows us to set up the chip select when the child is bound,
and avoid the messy contortions.

Unfortunately this is a fairly large change and it seems to be difficult to
break it down further.

d8d160e420 mxs_ocotp: prevent error path from returning success
The code may goto 'fail' upon error with 'ret' variable set to an error
code, but this variable was being overwritten by a final preparation
function to restore the HCLK, so success was (in general) returned even
after an error was hit previously.

With this change, the function may now return success even if the final
preparation function fails, but it's probably enough to print a message
because (if successful) the real programming of the fuses has already
completed.

b41411954d linux/kernel.h: sync min, max, min3, max3 macros with Linux
U-Boot has never cared about the type when we get max/min of two
values, but Linux Kernel does.  This commit gets min, max, min3, max3
macros synced with the kernel introducing type checks.

Many of references of those macros must be fixed to suppress warnings.
We have two options:
 - Use min, max, min3, max3 only when the arguments have the same type
   (or add casts to the arguments)
 - Use min_t/max_t instead with the appropriate type for the first
   argument

709ea543b9 stdio: Pass device pointer to stdio methods
At present stdio device functions do not get any clue as to which stdio
device is being acted on. Some implementations go to great lengths to work
around this, such as defining a whole separate set of functions for each
possible device.

For driver model we need to associate a stdio_dev with a device. It doesn't
seem possible to continue with this work-around approach.

Instead, add a stdio_dev pointer to each of the stdio member functions.

Note: The serial drivers have the same problem, but it is not strictly
necessary to fix that to get driver model running. Also, if we convert
serial over to driver model the problem will go away.

Code size increases by 244 bytes for Thumb2 and 428 for PowerPC.

2bbcccf552 ARM: mxs: Add OCOTP driver
Add yet another OCOTP driver for this i.MX family. This time, it's a driver for
the OCOTP variant found in the i.MX23 and i.MX28. This version of OCOTP is too
different from the i.MX6 one that I could not use the mxc_ocotp.c driver without
making it into a big pile of #ifdef . This driver implements the regular fuse
command interface, but due to the IP blocks' limitation, we support only READ
and PROG functions.

2ab83f0d75 cros_ec: Correct comparison between signed and unsigned numbers
Due to signed/unsigned comparison, '< sizeof(struct)' does not do the right
thing, since if ec_command() returns a -ve number we will consider this be
success.

Adjust all comparisons to avoid this problem.

This error was found with sandbox, which gives a segfault in this case. On
ARM we may instead silently fail.

We should also consider turning on -Wsign-compare to catch this sort of thing
in future.

e8c1266236 cros_ec: Clean up multiple EC protocol support
Version 1 protocols (without command version) were already no longer
supported in cros_ec.c.  This removes some dead code from the
cros_ec_i2c driver.

Version 2 protcols (with command version) are now called
protocol_version=2, instead of cmd_version_is_supported=1.

A subsequent change will introduce protocol version 3 for SPI.

98ab435f73 x86: Add CBMEM console driver for coreboot
This patch builds upon the recently introduced CBMEM console
feature of coreboot.

CBMEM console uses a memry area allocated by coreboot to store
the console output. The memory area has a certain structure,
which allows to determine where the buffer is, the buffer size
and the location of the pointer in the buffer. This allows
different phases of the firmware (rom based coreboot, ram based
coreboot, u-boot after relocation with this change) to keep
adding text to the same buffer.

Note that this patch introduces a new console driver and adds the
driver to the list of drivers to be used for console output, i.e.
it engages only after u-boot relocates. Usiong CBMEM console for
capturing the pre-relocation console output will be done under a
separate change.

>From Linux, run the cbmem.py utility (which is a part of the coreboot
package) to see the output, e.g.:

8bc50f0b6d powerpc/mpc8xxx: move LAW code into arch/powerpc/cpu/mpc8xxx
It's arch code and not a driver, so move it where it belongs.  When it
originally went into drivers/misc there was no 8xxx CPU directory.

This will make new-SPL support a little easier since we can keep the CPU
stuff together and not need to pull stuff in from drivers/misc.

The PMIC framework has been extended to support multiple instances of
the variety of devices responsible for power management.
This change allows supporting of e.g. fuel gauge, charger, MUIC (Micro USB

Power related includes have been moved to ./include/power directory.
This is a first of a series of patches - in the future "pmic" will be
replaced with "power".

Two important issues:
1. The PMIC needs to be initialized just after malloc is configured
2. It uses list to hold information about available PMIC devices

461632bd71 powerpc/corenet_ds: Slave module for boot from PCIE
When boot from PCIE, slave's core should be in holdoff after powered on for
some specific requirements. Master will release the slave's core at the
right time by PCIE interface.

Slave's ucode and ENV can be stored in master's memory space, then slave
can fetch them through PCIE interface. For the corenet platform, ucode is
for Fman.

NOTE: Because the slave can not erase, write master's NOR flash by
	  PCIE interface, so it can not modify the ENV parameters stored
	  in master's NOR flash using "saveenv" or other commands.

environment and requirement:

master:
	1. NOR flash for its own u-boot image, ucode and ENV space.
	2. Slave's u-boot image is in master NOR flash.
	3. Put the slave's ucode and ENV into it's own memory space.
	4. Normally boot from local NOR flash.
	5. Configure PCIE system if needed.
slave:
	1. Just has EEPROM for RCW. No flash for u-boot image, ucode and ENV.
	2. Boot location should be set to one PCIE interface by RCW.
	3. RCW should configure the SerDes, PCIE interfaces correctly.
	4. Must set all the cores in holdoff by RCW.
	5. Must be powered on before master's boot.

For the slave module, need to finish these processes:
	1. Set the boot location to one PCIE interface by RCW.
    2. Set a specific TLB entry for the boot process.
	3. Set a LAW entry with the TargetID of one PCIE for the boot.
	4. Set a specific TLB entry in order to fetch ucode and ENV from
	   master.
	5. Set a LAW entry with the TargetID one of the PCIE ports for
	   ucode and ENV.
	6. Slave's u-boot image should be generated specifically by
	   make xxxx_SRIO_PCIE_BOOT_config.
	   This will set SYS_TEXT_BASE=0xFFF80000 and other configurations.

In addition, the processes are very similar between boot from SRIO and
boot from PCIE. Some configurations like the address spaces can be set to
the same. So the module of boot from PCIE was added based on the existing
module of boot from SRIO, and the following changes were needed:
	1. Updated the README.srio-boot-corenet to add descriptions about
	   boot from PCIE, and change the name to
	   README.srio-pcie-boot-corenet.
	2. Changed the compile config "xxxx_SRIOBOOT_SLAVE" to
	   "xxxx_SRIO_PCIE_BOOT", and the image builded with
	   "xxxx_SRIO_PCIE_BOOT" can support both the boot from SRIO and
	   from PCIE.
	3. Updated other macros and documents if needed to add information
	   about boot from PCIE.

81fa73bab0 powerpc/corenet_ds: Get rid of the CONFIG_SRIOBOOT_SLAVE_PORTx macro
When compile the slave image for boot from SRIO, no longer need to
specify which SRIO port it will boot from. The code will get this
information from RCW and then finishes corresponding configurations.

This has the following advantages:
	1. No longer need to rebuild an image when change the SRIO port for
	   boot from SRIO, just rewrite the new RCW with selected port,
	   then the code will get the port information by reading new RCW.
	2. It will be easier to support other boot location options, for
	   example, boot from PCIE.

6d8962e814 Switch from archive libraries to partial linking
Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols
found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of
binutils.  As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not
extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols".

This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead
of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in
linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended.
This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function
cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is
inspired.

The name of each former library archive is preserved except for
extensions which change from ".a" to ".o".  This commit updates
references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker
scripts.

This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but
include source files that depend these disabled features in the build,
resulting in undefined symbols.  Known such cases include:
- disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS;
- enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE.

7f0d241d5c led_display: split led display support into generic and hw-dependent parts
Split the display command into generic interface and hardware-specific
realization for PDSP188x LED display found on hmi1001 and manroland
boards. Simple interface for LED displays is defined in
include/led-display.h and described in doc/README.LED_display.
Driver-specific implementation was moved into drivers/misc/pdsp188x.c
file (enabled with CONFIG_PDSP188x set).

2f721d1733 MXC: Fix byte-ordering in SPI driver for i.MX31/i.MX51
The actual SPI driver for i.MX31 and i.MX51 controller
use a wrong byte ordering, because it is supposed
to work only with Freescale's devices, as the Power
Controllers (PMIC). The driver is not suitable for
general purposes, because the buffers passed to spi_xfer
must be 32-bit aligned, as it is used mainly to send
integer to PMIC devices.

The patch drops any kind of limitation and makes the
driver useful with devices controlled sending commands
composed by single bytes (or by a odd number of bytes), such as
spi flash, sensor, etc.

Because the byte ordering is changed,
any current driver using this controller must be adapted, too.

54841ab50c Make sure that argv[] argument pointers are not modified.
The hush shell dynamically allocates (and re-allocates) memory for the
argument strings in the "char *argv[]" argument vector passed to
commands.  Any code that modifies these pointers will cause serious
corruption of the malloc data structures and crash U-Boot, so make
sure the compiler can check that no such modifications are being done
by changing the code into "char * const argv[]".

This modification is the result of debugging a strange crash caused
after adding a new command, which used the following argument
processing code which has been working perfectly fine in all Unix
systems since version 6 - but not so in U-Boot:

The line marked "====>" will corrupt the malloc data structures and
usually cause U-Boot to crash when the next command gets executed by
the shell.  With the modification, the compiler will prevent this with
an
	error: increment of read-only location '*argv'

N.B.: The code above can be trivially rewritten like this:

	while (--argc > 0 && **++argv == '-') {
		char *arg = *argv;
		while (*++arg) {
			switch (*arg) {
			...

ead39d7aa3 TWL4030: make LEDs selectable for twl4030_led_init()
Not all boards have both LEDs hooked, so enabling both on
boards with single LED will just waste power. Make it
possible to choose LEDs by adding argument to
twl4030_led_init().

Using this turn on only LEDB for pandora, leave both LEDs
on for all other boards, as it was before this patch.

418ec85843 ppc/p4080: Add support for CoreNet style platform LAWs
On CoreNet based platforms the LAW address is split between an high &
low register and we no longer shift the address.  Also, the target IDs
on CoreNet platforms have been completely re-assigned.

Additionally, added a new find_law() API to which LAW an address hits in.
This is need for the CoreNet style boot release code since it will need
to determine what the target ID should be set to for boot window
translation.

Finally, enamed LAWAR_EN to LAW_EN and moved to header so we can use
it elsewhere.

7da53351d8 ppc/85xx: add boot from NAND/eSDHC/eSPI support
The MPC8536E is capable of booting form NAND/eSDHC/eSPI, this patch
implements these three bootup methods in a unified way - all of these
use the general cpu/mpc85xx/start.S, and load the main image to L2SRAM
which lets us use the SPD to initialize the SDRAM.

For all three bootup methods, the bootup process can be divided into two
stages: the first stage will initialize the corresponding controller,
configure the L2SRAM, then copy the second stage image to L2SRAM and
jump to it. The second stage image is just like the general U-Boot image
to configure all the hardware and boot up to U-Boot command line.

When boot from NAND, the eLBC controller will first load the first stage
image to internal 4K RAM buffer because it's also stored on the NAND
flash. The first stage image, also call 4K NAND loader, will initialize
the L2SRAM, load the second stage image to L2SRAM and jump to it. The 4K
NAND loader's code comes from the corresponding nand_spl directory, along
with the code twisted by CONFIG_NAND_SPL.

When boot from eSDHC/eSPI, there's no such a first stage image because
the CPU ROM code does the same work. It will initialize the L2SRAM
according to the config addr/word pairs on the fixed address and
initialize the eSDHC/eSPI controller, then load the second stage image
to L2SRAM and jump to it.

The macro CONFIG_SYS_RAMBOOT is used to control the code to produce the
second stage image for all different bootup methods. It's set in the
board config file when one of the bootup methods above is selected.

P1020 is another member of QorIQ series of processors which falls in ULE
category. It is an e500 based dual core SOC.

Being a scaled down version of P2020 it has following differences:
- 533MHz - 800MHz core frequency.
- 256Kbyte L2 cache
- Ethernet controllers with classification capabilities.
Also the SOC is pin compatible with P2020

2c15513010 OMAP3 Move twl4030 power and led functions
Because twl4030 now has its own device files, move exiting
omap3 power_init_r to a new location.

power_init_r is the only function in board/omap3/common.
It initializes the twl4030 power for the board and enables
the led.

The power part of the the function is moved to twl4030_power_init in
drivers/power/twl4030.c The power compilation is conditional on the
existing config variable CONFIG_TWL4030_POWER.

The led part is moved to twl4030_led_init in the new file
drivers/misc/twl4030_led.c  The led compilation is conditional on
the new config variable CONFIG_TWL4030_LED

The directory board/omap3/common was removed because power_init_r
was the only function in it.

a89c33db96 General help message cleanup
Many of the help messages were not really helpful; for example, many
commands that take no arguments would not print a correct synopsis
line, but "No additional help available." which is not exactly wrong,
but not helpful either.

Commit ``Make "usage" messages more helpful.'' changed this
partially. But it also became clear that lots of "Usage" and "Help"
messages (fields "usage" and "help" in struct cmd_tbl_s respective)
were actually redundant.

This patch cleans this up - for example:

Before:
	=> help dtt
	dtt - Digital Thermometer and Thermostat

	Usage:
	dtt         - Read temperature from digital thermometer and thermostat.

After:
	=> help dtt
	dtt - Read temperature from Digital Thermometer and Thermostat

	Usage:
	dtt
