It is common to read a device-tree property from the node associated with
a device. Add convenience functions to do this so that drivers do not need
to deal with accessing the ofnode from the device.
These functions all start with 'dev_read_' to provide consistent naming
for all functions which read information from a device's device tree node.
These are inlined when using the flat DT to save code size. The live tree
implementation is added in a later commit.

Since U-Boot supports both a live tree and a flat tree, we need an easy
way to access the tree without worrying about which is currently active.
To support this, U-Boot has the concept of an ofnode, which can refer
either to a live tree node or a flat tree node.
For the live tree, the reference contains a pointer to the node (struct
device_node *) or NULL if the node is invalid. For the flat tree, the
reference contains the node offset or -1 if the node is invalid.
Add a basic set of operations using ofnodes. These are implemented by
using either libfdt functions (in the case of a flat DT reference) or
the live-tree of_...() functions.
Note that it is not possible to have both live and flat references active
at the same time. As soon as the live tree is available, everything in
U-Boot should switch to using that. This avoids confusion and allows us to
assume that the type of a reference is simply based on whether we have a
live tree yet, or not.

Add a basic assortment of functions to access the live device tree. These
come from Linux v4.9 and are modified for U-Boot to the minimum extent
possible. While these functions are now very stable in Linux, it will be
possible to merge in fixes if needed.

With live tree we need a struct device_node * to reference a node. With
the existing flat tree, we need an int offset. We need to unify these into
a single value which can represent both.
Add an ofnode union for this and adjust existing code to move to this.

These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..()
prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename
the existing functions to avoid confusion.
In the end we will have:
1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree
2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only
3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only
All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call
either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use.
Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file.

The PHY framework provides a set of APIs to control a PHY. This API is
derived from the linux version of the generic PHY framework.
Currently the API supports init(), deinit(), power_on, power_off() and
reset(). The framework provides a way to get a reference to a phy from the
device-tree.

This is a simple uclass for Watchdog Timers. It has four operations:
start, restart, reset, stop. Drivers must implement start, restart and
stop operations, while implementing reset is optional: It's default
implementation expires watchdog timer in one clock tick.

If the system is running PSCI firmware, the System Reset function
(func ID: 0x80000009) is supposed to be handled by PSCI, that is,
the SoC/board specific reset implementation should be moved to PSCI.
U-Boot should call the PSCI service according to the arm-smccc
manner.
The arm-smccc is supported on ARMv7 or later. Especially, ARMv8
generation SoCs are likely to run ARM Trusted Firmware BL31. In
this case, U-Boot is a non-secure world boot loader, so it should
not be able to reset the system directly.

The new function dm_remove_devices_flags() is intented for driver specific
last-stage cleanup operations before the OS is started. This patch adds
this functionality and hooks it into the common device_remove()
function.
Drivers wanting to use this feature for some last-stage removal calls,
need to add one of the DM_REMOVE_xx flags to their driver .flags.

Right now the u-boot,dm-pre-reloc flag will make each marked node
always appear in both spl and tpl. But systems needing an additional
tpl might have special constraints for each, like the spl needing to
be very tiny.
So introduce two additional flags to mark nodes for only spl or tpl
environments and introduce a function dm_fdt_pre_reloc to automate
the necessary checks in code instances checking for pre-relocation
flags.
The behaviour of the original flag stays untouched and still marks
a node for both spl and tpl.

At present devices use a simple integer offset to record the device tree

it. That's why CONFIG_SYS_SCSI_MAX_DEVICE is hardcoded to 1 and symbol

be correct when more devices are present.
scsi_bind() ensures corresponding block device creation.
uclass post_probe (scsi_post_probe()) is doing low level init.
SCSI/SATA DM based drivers requires to have 64bit base address as
the first entry in platform data structure to setup mmio_base.

The currently available functions accessing the 'reg' property of a
device only retrieve the address. Sometimes its also necessary to
retrieve the size described by the 'reg' property. This patch adds
the new function dev_get_addr_size_index() which retrieves both,
the address and the size described by the 'reg' property.

When CONFIG_SPL_STACK_R is enabled, and spl_init() is called before
board_init_r(), spl_relocate_stack_gd() will move global_data to a new
place in memory. This affects driver model since it uses a list for the
uclasses. Unless this is updated the list will become invalid. When
looking for a non-existent uclass, such as when adding a new one, the loop
in uclass_find() may continue forever, thus causing a hang.
Add a function to correct this rather obscure bug.

On the raspberry pi, you can disable the serial port to gain dynamic frequency
scaling which can get handy at times.
However, in such a configuration the serial controller gets its rx queue filled
up with zero bytes which then happily get transmitted on to whoever calls
getc() today.
This patch adds detection logic for that case by checking whether the RX pin is
mapped to GPIO15 and disables the mini uart if it is not mapped properly.
That way we can leave the driver enabled in the tree and can determine during
runtime whether serial is usable or not, having a single binary that allows for
uart and non-uart operation.

The ethoc device can be configured to have a private memory region
instead of having access to the main memory. In that case egress packets
must be copied into that memory for transmission and pointers to that
memory need to be passed to net_process_received_packet or returned from
the recv callback.

We currently use dm_scan_fdt_node() to bind devices. It is an internal
function and it requires the caller to know whether we are pre- or post-
relocation.
This requirement has become quite common in drivers, so the current function
is not ideal.
Add a new function with fewer arguments, that does not require internal
headers. This can be used directly as a post_bind() method if needed.

Some SoCs have a single clock device. Provide a way to find it given its
driver name. This is handled by the linker so will fail if the name is not
found, avoiding strange errors when names change and do not match. It is
also faster than a string comparison.

The MXC UART IP can be run in DTE or DCE mode. This depends on the
board wiring and the pinmux used and hence is board specific. This
extends platform data with a new field to choose wheather DTE
mode shall be used.

Devices which use of-platdata have their own platdata. However, in many
cases the driver will have its own auto-alloced platdata, for use with the
device tree. The ofdata_to_platdata() method converts the device tree
settings to platdata.
With of-platdata we would not normally allocate the platdata since it is
provided by the U_BOOT_DEVICE() declaration. However this is inconvenient
since the of-platdata struct is closely tied to the device tree properties.
It is unlikely to exactly match the platdata needed by the driver.
In fact a useful approach is to declare platdata in the driver like this:

In this case we have dt_platadata available, but the normal fields are not
present, since ofdata_to_platdata() is never called. In fact driver model
doesn't allocate any space for the 'normal' fields, since it sees that there
is already platform data attached to the device.
To make this easier, adjust driver model to allocate the full size of the
struct (i.e. platdata_auto_alloc_size from the driver) and copy in the
of-platdata. This means that when the driver's bind() method is called,
the of-platdata will be present, followed by zero bytes for the empty
'normal field' portion.
A new DM_FLAG_OF_PLATDATA flag is available that indicates that the platdata
came from of-platdata. When the allocation/copy happens, the
DM_FLAG_ALLOC_PDATA flag will be set as well. The dtoc tool is updated to
output the platdata_size field, since U-Boot has no other way of knowing
the size of the of-platdata struct.

A reset controller is a hardware module that controls reset signals that
affect other hardware modules or chips.
This patch defines a standard API that connects reset clients (i.e. the
drivers for devices affected by reset signals) to drivers for reset
controllers/providers. Initially, DT is the only supported method for
connecting the two.
The DT binding specification (reset.txt) was taken from Linux kernel
v4.5's Documentation/devicetree/bindings/reset/reset.txt.

A mailbox is a hardware mechanism for transferring small message and/or
notifications between the CPU on which U-Boot runs and some other device
such as an auxilliary CPU running firmware or a hardware module.
This patch defines a standard API that connects mailbox clients to mailbox
providers (drivers). Initially, DT is the only supported method for
connecting the two.
The DT binding specification (mailbox.txt) was taken from Linux kernel
v4.5's Documentation/devicetree/bindings/mailbox/mailbox.txt.

The current reset API implements a method to reset the entire system.
In the near future, I'd like to introduce code that implements the device
tree reset bindings; i.e. the equivalent of the Linux kernel's reset API.
This controls resets to individual HW blocks or external chips with reset
signals. It doesn't make sense to merge the two APIs into one since they
have different semantic purposes. Resolve the naming conflict by renaming
the existing reset API to sysreset instead, so the new reset API can be
called just reset.

example is the Tegra186 GPIO driver, which instantiates child devices
for each of its GPIO ports, yet supports two different HW instances each
with a different set of ports, and identified by the udevice_id .data
field.

Some devices have a name that is stored in allocated memory. At present
there is no mechanism to free this memory when the device is unbound.
Add a device flag to track whether a name is allocated and a function to
add the flag. Free the memory when the device is unbound.

On some platforms (e.g. x86), the return value of dev_get_addr() can't
be assigned to a pointer type variable directly. As there might be a
difference between the size of fdt_addr_t and the pointer type. On
x86 for example, "fdt_addr_t" is 64bit but "void *" only 32bit. So
assigning the register base directly in dev_get_addr() results in this
compilation warning:

This patch introduces the new function dev_get_addr_ptr() that
returns a pointer to the 'reg' address that can be used by drivers
in this case.

Qualcom processors use proprietary bus to talk with PMIC devices -
SPMI (System Power Management Interface).
On wiring level it is similar to I2C, but on protocol level, it's
multi-master and has simple autodetection capabilities.
This commit adds simple uclass that provides bus read/write interface.

The RPi3 typically uses the regular UART for high-speed communication with
the Bluetooth device, leaving us the mini UART to use for the serial
console. Add support for this UART so we can use it.

For Raspberry Pi, we had the input clock rate to the pl011 fixed in
the rpi.c file, but it may be changed by firmware due to user changes
to config.txt. Since the firmware always sets up the uart (default
115200 output unless the user changes it), we can just skip our own
uart init to simplify the boot process and more reliably get serial
output.

It seems likely that at some point we will want a generic interrupt uclass.
But this is a big undertaking as it involves unifying code across multiple
architectures.
As a first step, create a simple IRQ uclass and a driver for x86. This can
be generalised later as required.
Adjust pirq_init() to probe this driver, which has the effect of creating
routing tables and setting up the interrupt routing. This is a start
towards making interrupts fit better with driver model.

The current DisplayPort uclass is too specific. The operations it provides
are shared with other types of output devices, such as HDMI and LVDS LCD
displays.
Generalise the uclass so that it can be used with these devices as well.
Adjust the uclass to handle the EDID reading and conversion to
display_timing internally.
Also update nyan-big which is affected by this.

(which powers them up ready for use). If they have a backlight, this can be
enabled.

GPIO drivers want to be able to show if a pin is enabled for input, output,
or is being used by another function. Some drivers can easily find this
and the code is included in the driver. For some SoCs this is more complex.
Conceptually this should be handled by pinctrl rather than GPIO. Most
pinctrl drivers will have this feature anyway.
Add a method by which a GPIO driver can obtain the pin mux value given a
GPIO reference. This avoids repeating the code in two places.

Add a function which produces a flags word from a few common PIN_CONFIG
settings. This is useful for simple pinctrl drivers that don't need to worry
about drive strength, etc.

The existing LCD/video interface suffers from conflating the bitmap display
with text output on that display. As a result the implementation is more
complex than it needs to me.
We can support multiple text console drivers. Create a separate uclass to
support this, with its own API.

U-Boot has separate code for LCDs and 'video' devices. Both now use a
very similar API thanks to earlier work by Nikita Kiryanov. With the driver-
model conversion we should unify these into a single uclass.
Unfortunately there are different features supported by each. This
implementation provides for a common set of features which should serve
most purposes. The intent is to support:
- bitmap devices with 8, 16 and 32 bits per pixel
- text console wih white on black or vice versa
- rotated text console
- bitmap display (BMP format)
More can be added as additional boards are ported over to use driver model
for video.
The name 'video' is chosen for the uclass since it is more generic than LCD.
Another option would be 'display' but that would introduce a third concept
to U-Boot which seems like the wrong approach.
The existing LCD and video init functions are not needed now, so this uclass
makes no attempt to implement them.

Implement a Memory Technology Device (MTD) uclass. It should
include most flash drivers in the future. Though no uclass ops
are defined yet, the MTD ops could be used.
The NAND flash driver is based on MTD. The CFI flash and SPI
flash support MTD, too. It should make sense to convert them
to MTD uclass.

Many System on Chip(SoC) solutions are complex with multiple processors
on the same die dedicated to either general purpose of specialized
functions. Many examples do exist in today's SoCs from various vendors.
Typical examples are micro controllers such as an ARM M3/M0 doing a
offload of specific function such as event integration or power
management or controlling camera etc.
Traditionally, the responsibility of loading up such a processor with a
firmware and communication has been with a High Level Operating
System(HLOS) such as Linux. However, there exists classes of products
where Linux would need to expect services from such a processor or the
delay of Linux and operating system being able to load up such a
firmware is unacceptable.
To address these needs, we need some minimal capability to load such a
system and ensure it is started prior to an Operating System(Linux or
any other) is started up.
NOTE: This is NOT meant to be a solve-all solution, instead, it tries to
address certain class of SoCs and products that need such a solution.
A very simple model is introduced here as part of the initial support
that supports microcontrollers with internal memory (no MMU, no
execution from external memory, or specific image format needs). This
basic framework can then (hopefully) be extensible to other complex SoC
processor support as need be.

My original pinctrl patch operating using a peripheral ID enum. This was
shared between pinmux and clock and provides an easy way to specify a device
that needs to be controlled, even it is does not (yet) have a driver within
driver model.
Masahiro's new simple pinctrl gets around this by providing a
set_state_simple() pinctrl method. By passing a device to that call the
peripheral ID becomes unnecessary. If the driver needs it, it can calculate
it itself and use it internally.
However this does not solve the problem for peripheral clocks. The 'pure'
solution would be to pass a driver to the clock uclass also. But this
requires that all devices should have a driver, and a struct udevide. Also
a key optimisation of the clock uclass is allowing a peripheral clock to
be set even when there is no device for that clock.
There may be a better way to achive the same goal, but for now it seems
expedient to add in peripheral ID to the pinctrl uclass. Two methods are
added - one to get the peripheral ID and one to select it. The existing
set_state_simple() is effectively the union of these.

This creates a new framework for handling of pin control devices,
i.e. devices that control different aspects of package pins.
This uclass handles pinmuxing and pin configuration; pinmuxing
controls switching among silicon blocks that share certain physical
pins, pin configuration handles electronic properties such as pin-
biasing, load capacitance etc.
This framework can support the same device tree bindings, but if you
do not need full interface support, you can disable some features to
reduce memory foot print. Typically around 1.5KB is necessary to
include full-featured uclass support on ARM board (CONFIG_PINCTRL +
CONFIG_PINCTRL_FULL + CONFIG_PINCTRL_GENERIC + CONFIG_PINCTRL_PINMUX),
for example.
We are often limited on code size for SPL. Besides, we still have
many boards that do not support device tree configuration. The full
pinctrl, which requires OF_CONTROL, does not make sense for those
boards. So, this framework also has a Do-It-Yourself (let's say
simple pinctrl) interface. With CONFIG_PINCTRL_FULL disabled, the
uclass itself provides no systematic mechanism for identifying the
peripheral device, applying pinctrl settings, etc. They must be
done in each low-level driver. In return, you can save much memory
footprint and it might be useful especially for SPL.

Add a new uclass for TPMs which uses almost the same TIS (TPM Interface
Specification) as is currently implemented. Since init() is handled by the
normal driver model probe() method, we don't need to implement that. Also
rename the transfer method to xfer() which is a less clumbsy name.
Once all drivers and users are converted to driver model we can remove the
old code.

We do not want to compile the DM remove code for SPL. Currently,
we undef it in include/config_uncmd_spl.h (for C files) and in
scripts/Makefile.uncmd_spl (for Makefiles). This is really ugly.
This commit demonstrates how we can deprecate those two files.
Use $(SPL_) for the entry in the Makfile and CONFIG_IS_ENABLED()
in C files.

Some devices are bound entirely by probing and do not have the benefit of
a device tree to give them a name. This is very common with PCI and USB. In
most cases this is fine, but we should add an official way to set a device
name. This should be called in the device's bind() method.

Currently, Devres requires additional 16 byte for each allocation,
which is not so insignificant in some cases.
Add CONFIG_DEVRES to make this framework optional.
If the option is disabled, devres functions fall back to
non-managed variants. For example, devres_alloc() to kzalloc(),
devm_kmalloc() to kmalloc(), etc.
Because devres_head is also surrounded by an ifdef conditional,
there is no memory overhead when CONFIG_DEVRES is disabled.

allocated with it is managed and will be automatically released
when the device is removed/unbound.

In U-Boot's driver model, memory is basically allocated and freed
in the core framework. So, low level drivers generally only have
to specify the size of needed memory with .priv_auto_alloc_size,
.platdata_auto_alloc_size, etc. Nevertheless, some drivers still
need to allocate/free memory on their own in case they cannot
statically know the necessary memory size. So, I believe it is
reasonable enough to port Devres into U-boot.
Devres, which originates in Linux, manages device resources for each
device and automatically releases them on driver detach. With devres,
device resources are guaranteed to be freed whether initialization
fails half-way or the device gets detached.
The basic idea is totally the same to that of Linux, but I tweaked
it a bit so that it fits in U-Boot's driver model.
In U-Boot, drivers are activated in two steps: binding and probing.
Binding puts a driver and a device together. It is just data
manipulation on the system memory, so nothing has happened on the
hardware device at this moment. When the device is really used, it
is probed. Probing initializes the real hardware device to make it
really ready for use.
So, the resources acquired during the probing process must be freed
when the device is removed. Likewise, what has been allocated in
binding should be released when the device is unbound. The struct
devres has a member "probe" to remember when the resource was
allocated.
CONFIG_DEBUG_DEVRES is also supported for easier debugging.
If enabled, debug messages are printed each time a resource is
allocated/freed.

Currently, we only have DM_FLAG_ACTIVATED to indicate the device
status, but we still cannot know in which stage is in progress,
binding or probing.
This commit introduces a new flag, DM_FLAG_BOUND, which is set when
the device is really bound, and cleared when it is unbound.

A video bridge typically converts video from one format to another, e.g.
DisplayPort to LVDS. Add driver model support for these with a simple
interface to control activation and backlight. The uclass supports GPIO
control of power and reset lines.

Add a new I2C_MUX uclass. Devices in this class can multiplex between
several I2C buses, selecting them one at a time for use by the system.
The multiplexing mechanism is left to the driver to decide - it may be
controlled by GPIOs, for example.
The uclass supports only two methods: select() and deselect().
The current mux state is expected to be stored in the mux itself since
it is the only thing that knows how to make things work. The mux can
record the current state and then avoid switching unless it is necessary.
So select() can be skipped if the mux is already in the correct state.
Also deselect() can be made a nop if required.

It is common for one node to reference another via a phandle. Add support
for obtaining an attached device by this method. As an example, a node may
have a 'power-supply' property which references a regulator, allowing the
driver to turn on its power.

Clocks are an important feature of platforms and have become increasing
complex with time. Most modern SoCs have multiple PLLs and dozens of clock
dividers which distribute clocks to on-chip peripherals.
Some SoC implementations have a clock API which is private to that SoC family,
e.g. Tegra and Exynos. This is useful but it would be better to have a
common API that can be understood and used throughout U-Boot.
Add a simple clock API as a starting point. It supports querying and setting
the rate of a clock. Each clock is a device. To reduce memory and processing
overhead the concept of peripheral clocks is provided. These do not need to
be explicit devices - it is possible to write a driver that can adjust the
I2C clock (for example) without an explicit I2C clock device. This can
dramatically reduce the number of devices (and associated overhead) in a
complex SoC.
Clocks are referenced by a number, and it is expected that SoCs will define
that numbering themselves via an enum.

It is common for system reset to be available at multiple levels in modern
hardware. For example, an SoC may provide a reset option, and a board may
provide its own reset for reasons of security or thoroughness. It is useful
to be able to model this hardware without hard-coding the behaviour in the
SoC or board. Also there is a distinction sometimes between resetting just
the CPU (leaving GPIO state alone) and resetting all the PMICs, just cutting
power.
To achieve this, add a simple system reset uclass. It allows multiple devices
to provide reset functionality and provides a way to walk through them,
requesting a particular reset type until is it provided.

Many SoCs have a number of system controllers which are dealt with as a
group by a single driver. It is a pain to have to add lots of compatible
strings and/or separate drivers for each. Instead we can identify the
controllers by a number and request the address of the one we want.
Add a simple implementation of this which can be used by SoC driver code.

In some rare cases it is useful to be able to locate a device given a device
tree node offset. An example is when you have an alias that points to a node
and you want to find the associated device. The device may be SPI, MMC or
something else, but you don't need to know the uclass to find it.
Add a function to do a global search for a device, given its device tree
offset.

This commit introduces the PMIC uclass implementation.
It allows providing the basic I/O interface for PMIC devices.
For the multi-function PMIC devices, this can be used as I/O
parent device, for each IC's interface. Then, each PMIC particular
function can be provided by the child device's operations, and the
child devices will use its parent for read/write by the common API.

Add a uclass for real-time clocks which support getting the current time,
setting it and resetting the chip to a known-working state. Some RTCs have
additional registers which can be used to store settings, so also provide
an interface to these.

The CONFIG_DM_DEVICE_REMOVE option takes out code related to removing
devices. It should also remove the 'unbind' code since if we cannot
remove we probably don't need to unbind.

This test introduces new test structure type:dm_test_perdev_uc_pdata.
The structure consists of three int values only. For the test purposes,
three pattern values are defined by enum, starting with TEST_UC_PDATA_INTVAL1.
This commit adds two test cases for uclass platform data:
- Test: dm_test_autobind_uclass_pdata_alloc - this tests if:
* uclass driver sets: .per_device_platdata_auto_alloc_size field
* the devices's: dev->uclass_platdata is non-NULL
- Test: dm_test_autobind_uclass_pdata_valid - this tests:
* if the devices's: dev->uclass_platdata is non-NULL
* the structure of type 'dm_test_perdev_uc_pdata' allocated at address
pointed by dev->uclass_platdata. Each structure field, should be equal
to proper pattern data, starting from .intval1 == TEST_UC_PDATA_INTVAL1.

This commit adds 'uclass_platdata' field to 'struct udevice', which
can be automatically allocated at bind. The allocation size is defined
in 'struct uclass_driver' as 'per_device_platdata_auto_alloc_size'.
New device's flag is added: DM_FLAG_ALLOC_UCLASS_PDATA, which is used
for memory freeing at device unbind method.
As for other udevice's fields, a complementary function is added:
- dev_get_uclass_platdata()

This emulator supports USB enumeration and allows a local file to be provided
as the contents of the emulated flash stick. U-Boot can then use the file as
it would a normal device, with all access passing through the usb_stor layer
and the USB stack.

With sandbox we want to be able to emulate USB devices so that we can test
the USB stack. Add a uclass to support this. It implements the same
operations as a normal USB device driver, but in this case passes them on
to an emulation driver.

At present USB devices with no driver model driver cannot be seen in the
device list, and we fail to set them up correctly. This means they cannot
be used.
While having real drivers that support driver model for all USB devices
is the eventual goal, we are not there yet.
As a stop-gap, add a generic USB driver which is bound when we do not have
a real driver. This allows the device to be set up and shown on the bus.
It also allows ad-hoc code (such as usb_ether) to find these devices and
set them up.

Since sandbox does not have real devices (unless it borrows those from the

Add a uclass for PCI controllers and a generic one for PCI devices. Adjust
the 'pci' command and the existing PCI support to work with this new uclass.
Keep most of the compatibility code in a separate file so that it can be
removed one day.

Some uclasses want to set up a device before it is probed. Add a method
for this.
An example is with PCI, where a PCI uclass wants to set up its private
data for later use. This allows the device's uclass() method to make calls
whcih use that data (for example, read PCI memory regions from device
tree, set up bus numbers).

may well be common to all buses in a particular uclass. Support a common
pre-probe method for the uclass, called before any bus devices are probed.

For buses, after a child is bound, allow the uclass to perform some
processing. This can be used to figure out the address of the child (e.g.
the chip select for SPI slaves) so that it is ready to be probed.
This avoids bus drivers having to repeat the same process, which really
should be done by the uclass, since it is common.

In many cases the per-child private data for a device's children is defined
by the uclass rather than the individual driver. For example, a SPI bus
needs to store information about each of its children, but all SPI drivers
store the same information. It makes sense to allow the uclass to define
this data.
If the driver provides a size value for its per-child private data, then use
it. Failng that, fall back to that provided by the uclass.

At present we try to use the 'reg' property and device tree aliases to give
devices a sequence number. The 'reg' property is often actually a memory
address, so the sequence numbers thus-obtained are not useful. It would be
better if the devices were just sequentially numbered in that case. In fact
neither I2C nor SPI use this feature, so drop it.
Some devices need us to look up an alias to number them within the uclass.
Add a flag to control this, so it is not done unless it is needed.
Adjust the tests to test this new behaviour.

For buses it is common for parents to need to know the address of the child
on the bus, the bus speed to use for that child, and other information. This
can be provided in platform data attached to each child.
Add driver model support for this, including auto-allocation which can be
requested using a new property to specify the size of the data.

This commit converts UniPhier on-chip serial driver to driver model.
Since UniPhier SoCs do not have Device Tree support, some board files
should be added under arch/arm/cpu/armv7/uniphier/ph1-*/ directories.
(Device Tree support for UniPhier platform is still under way.)
Now the base address and master clock frequency are passed from
platform data, so CONFIG_SYS_UNIPHIER_SERIAL_BASE* and
CONFIG_SYS_UNIPHIER_UART_CLK should be removed.
Tested on UniPhier PH1-LD4 ref board.

The platform_data definitions are generally referenced from both
drivers and board files. That is why header files defining
platform_data sturectures are placed in "include" directory,
but our top level "include" directory is already too cluttered.
Let's collect platform_data definitions under the directory
"include/dm/platform_data" like Linux gathers ones around under
"include/linux/platform_data".
This commit moves two header files:
include/serial_mxc.h -> include/dm/platform_data/serial_mxc.h
include/serial_pl01x.h -> include/dm/platform_data/serial_pl01x.h

Check the state of the malloc() heap before each test is run, so that tests
can verify that all is well at the end. Provide helper functions to mark

operations (read, write, erase). Since we must keep support for the
non-dm interface, some modification of the spi_flash header is required.
CONFIG_DM_SPI_FLASH is used to enable driver model for SPI flash.

U-Boot includes a SPI emulation driver already but it is not explicit, and
is hidden in the SPI flash code.
Conceptually with sandbox's SPI implementation we have a layer which
creates SPI bus transitions and a layer which interprets them, currently
only for SPI flash. The latter is actually an emulation, and it should be
possible to add more than one emulation - not just SPI flash.
Add a SPI emulation uclass so that other emulations can be plugged in to
support different types of emulated devices on difference buses/chip
selects.

Add a uclass which provides access to SPI buses and includes operations
required by SPI.
For a time driver model will need to co-exist with the legacy SPI interface
so some parts of the header file are changed depending on which is in use.
The exports are adjusted also since some functions are not available with
driver model.
Boards must define CONFIG_DM_SPI to use driver model for SPI.

The driver model supports two ways for passing device parameters;
Device Tree and platform_data (board file).
Each driver should generally support both of them because some
popular IPs are used on various platforms.
Assume the following scenario:
- The driver Foo is used on SoC Bar and SoC Baz
- The SoC Bar uses Device Tree control (CONFIG_OF_CONTROL=y)
- The SoC Baz does not support Device Tree; uses a board file
In this situation, the device driver Foo should work with/without
the device tree control. The driver should have .of_match and
.ofdata_to_platdata members for SoC Bar, while they are meaningless
for SoC Baz; therefore those device-tree control code should go
inside #ifdef CONFIG_OF_CONTROL.
The driver code will be like this:

when a new child is added so that it can be set up for communication on the
bus.

Some device types can have child devices and want to store information
about them. For example a USB flash stick attached to a USB host
controller would likely use this space. The controller can hold
information about the USB state of each of its children.
The data is stored attached to the child device in the 'parent_priv'
member. It can be auto-allocated by dm when the child is probed. To
do this, add a per_child_auto_alloc_size value to the parent driver.

Devices can have childen that can be addressed by a simple index, the
sequence number or a device tree offset. Add functions to access a child
in each of these ways.
The index is typically used as a fallback when the sequence number is not
available. For example we may use a serial UART with sequence number 0 as
the console, but if no UART has sequence number 0, then we can fall back
to just using the first UART (index 0).
The device tree offset function is useful for buses, where they want to
locate one of their children. The device tree can be scanned to find the
offset of each child, and that offset can then find the device.

At present only root nodes in the device tree are scanned for devices.
But some devices can have children. For example a SPI bus may have
several children for each of its chip selects.
Add a function which scans subnodes and binds devices for each one. This
can be used for the root node scan also, so change it.
A device can call this function in its bind() or probe() methods to bind
its children.

In U-Boot it is pretty common to number devices from 0 and access them
on the command line using this numbering. While it may come to pass that
we will move away from this numbering, the possibility seems remote at
present.
Given that devices within a uclass will have an implied numbering, it
makes sense to build this into driver model as a core feature. The cost
is fairly small in terms of code and data space.
With each uclass having numbered devices we can ask for SPI port 0 or
serial port 1 and receive a single device.
Devices typically request a sequence number using aliases in the device
tree. These are resolved when the device is probed, to deal with conflicts.
Sequence numbers need not be sequential and holes are permitted.
At present there is no support for sequence numbers using static platform
data. It could easily be added to 'struct driver_info' if needed, but it
seems better to add features as we find a use for them, and the use of -1
to mean 'no sequence' makes the default value somewhat painful.

Driver model currently only operates after relocation is complete. In this
state U-Boot typically has a small amount of memory available. In adding
support for driver model prior to relocation we must try to use as little
memory as possible.
In addition, on some machines the memory has not be inited and/or the CPU
is not running at full speed or the data cache is off. These can reduce
execution performance, so the less initialisation that is done before
relocation the better.
An immediately-obvious improvement is to only initialise drivers which are
actually going to be used before relocation. On many boards the only such
driver is a serial UART, so this provides a very large potential benefit.
Allow drivers to mark themselves as 'pre-reloc' which means that they will
be initialised prior to relocation. This can be done either with a driver
flag or with a 'dm,pre-reloc' device tree property.
To support this, the various dm scanning function now take a 'pre_reloc_only'
parameter which indicates that only drivers marked pre-reloc should be
bound.

There is a spelling mistake and two functions are missing comments
altogether. Also the flags declaration is correct, but doesn't follow
style. Finally, the uclass_get_device() function has some errors in
its documentation.
Fix these problems.

In a very few cases we need to adjust the driver model root device, such as
when setting it up at initialisation. Add a macro to make this easier.

using UBI and DM together leads in compiler error, as
both define a "struct device", so rename "struct device"
in include/dm/device.h to "struct udevice", as we use
linux code (MTD/UBI/UBIFS some USB code,...) and cannot
change the linux "struct device"

Add some tests of driver model functionality. Coverage includes:
- basic init
- binding of drivers to devices using platform_data
- automatic probing of devices when referenced
- availability of platform data to devices
- lifecycle from bind to probe to remove to unbind
- renumbering within a uclass when devices are probed/removed
- calling driver-defined operations
- deactivation of drivers when removed
- memory leak across creation and destruction of drivers/uclasses
- uclass init/destroy methods
- automatic probe/remove of children/parents when needed
This function is enabled for sandbox, using CONFIG_DM_TEST.

Add driver model functionality for generic board.
This includes data structures and base code for registering devices and
uclasses (groups of devices with the same purpose, e.g. all I2C ports will
be in the same uclass).
The feature is enabled with CONFIG_DM.
