fefac0b064 dm: acpi: Enhance acpi_get_name()
For many device types it is possible to figure out the name just by
looking at its uclass or parent. Add a function to handle this, since it
allows us to cover the vast majority of cases automatically.

However it is sometimes impossible to figure out an ACPI name for a device
just by looking at its uclass. For example a touch device may have a
vendor-specific name. Add a new "acpi,name" property to allow a custom
name to be created.

With this new feature we can drop the get_name() methods in the sandbox
I2C and SPI drivers. They were only added for testing purposes. Update the
tests to use the new values.

Up to now the RAM size of the sandbox is hard coded as 128 MiB. This does
not allow testing the correct handling of addresses outside the 32bit

be1a6e9425 dm: uclass: don't assign aliased seq numbers
If there are aliases for an uclass, set the base for the "dynamically"
allocated numbers next to the highest alias.

Please note, that this might lead to holes in the sequences, depending
on the device tree. For example if there is only an alias "ethernet1",
the next device seq number would be 2.

In particular this fixes a problem with boards which are using ethernet
aliases but also might have network add-in cards like the E1000. If the
board is started with the add-in card and depending on the order of the
drivers, the E1000 might occupy the first ethernet device and mess up
all the hardware addresses, because the devices are now shifted by one.

Also adapt the test cases to the new handling and add test cases
checking the holes in the seq numbers.

2960107a22 sandbox: also restore terminal settings when killed by SIGINT
Hitting Ctrl-C is a documented way to exit the sandbox, but it is not
actually equivalent to the reset command. The latter, since it follows
normal process exit, takes care to reset terminal settings and
restoring the O_NONBLOCK behaviour of stdin (and, in a terminal, that
is usually the same file description as stdout and stderr, i.e. some
/dev/pts/NN).

Failure to restore (remove) O_NONBLOCK from stdout/stderr can cause
very surprising and hard to debug problems back in the terminal. For
example, I had "make -j8" consistently failing without much
information about just exactly what went wrong, but sometimes I did
get a "echo: write error". I was at first afraid my disk was getting
bad, but then a simple "dmesg" _also_ failed with write error - so it
was writing to the terminal that was buggered. And both "make -j8" and
dmesg in another terminal window worked just fine.

So install a SIGINT handler so that if the chosen terminal
mode (cooked or raw-with-sigs) means Ctrl-C sends a SIGINT, we will
still call os_fd_restore(), then reraise the signal and die as usual
from SIGINT.

At present driver model supports the IRQ uclass but there is no way to

Add a mechanism, similar to clock and reset, to read the interrupts

U-Boot itself does not have interrupt-driven handlers, so just provide a

peripherals which must use an interrupt to determine when data is
available, for example.

Bring over the basic binding file as well, from Linux v5.4. Note that the
older binding is not supported in U-Boot; the newer 'special form' must be

There can be different types of interrupt controllers in a system and some

handled using the device tree by adding the interrupt information to

However on x86 devices we have interrupt controllers which are not tied

336d4615f8 dm: core: Create a new header file for 'compat' features
At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.

Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

9b69ba4a78 pci: sandbox: Move the emulators into their own node
Sandbox pci works using emulation drivers which are currently children of
the pci device:

	pci-controller {
		pci@1f,0 {
			compatible = "pci-generic";
			reg = <0xf800 0 0 0 0>;
			emul@1f,0 {
				compatible = "sandbox,swap-case";
			};
		};
	};

In this case the emulation device is attached to pci device on address
f800 (device 1f, function 0) and provides the swap-case functionality.

However this is not ideal, since every device on a PCI bus has a child
device. This is only really the case for sandbox, but we want to avoid
special-case code for sandbox.

Worse, child devices cannot be probed before their parents. This forces
us to use 'find' rather than 'get' to obtain the emulator device. In fact
the emulator devices are never probed. There is code in
sandbox_pci_emul_post_probe() which tries to track when emulators are
active, but at present this does not work.

A better approach seems to be to add a separate node elsewhere in the
device tree, an 'emulation parent'. This could be given a bogus address
(such as -1) to hide the emulators away from the 'pci' command, but it
seems better to keep it at the root node to avoid such hacks.

Then we can use a phandle to point from the device to the correct
emulator, and only on sandbox. The code to find an emulator does not
interfere with normal pci operation.

Add a new UCLASS_PCI_EMUL_PARENT uclass which allows finding an emulator
given a bus, and finding a bus given an emulator. Update the existing
device trees and the code for finding an emulator.

This brings PCI emulators more into line with I2C.

is not help, e.g.:

  initcall sequence 0000557678967c80 failed at call 00005576709dfe1f (err=-96)

This is because U-Boot gets relocated high into memory and the relocation
offset (gd->reloc_off) does not work correctly for sandbox.

Add support for finding the base address of the text region (at least on
Linux) and use that to set the relocation offset. This makes the output
better:

  initcall sequence 0000560775957c80 failed at call 0000000000048134 (err=-96)

Then you use can use grep to see which init call failed, e.g.:

Of course another option is to run it with a debugger such as gdb:

   $ gdb u-boot

ffd4c7c2ec dts: switch spi-flash to jedec, spi-nor compatible
There is no reason not to use the Linux "jedec,spi-nor" binding in U-Boot
dts files. This compatible has been added in sf_probe, let use it.

This patch switches to jedec,spi-nor when spi-flash is used in the DTS

present.

The x86 dts are switched in a separate commit since it depends on a change

fc1f58a4da sandbox: Use malloc() and free() from os layer
At present sandbox calls malloc() from various places in the OS layer and
this results in calls to U-Boot's malloc() implementation. It is better to
use the on in the OS layer, since it does not mix allocations with the
main U-Boot code.

Fix this by replacing calls with malloc() to os_malloc(), etc.
