The watchdog timer value was never updated in the hardware by this
driver, so the watchdog triggered on some random stale value that
was left in the hardware. The TI SPRUH37C says, quote:
20.4.3.9 Modifying Timer Count/Load Values and Prescaler Setting
...
After a write access, the load register value and prescaler ratio
registers are updated immediately, but new values are considered
only after the next consecutive counter overflow or after a new
trigger command (the WDT_WTGR register).
This means at least one trigger must happen. The driver probably
depended on someone calling it's .reset() callback, however that
is not guaranteed e.g. if the WDT operates without servicing.
Add this missing trigger.

This patch tries to implement a generic watchdog_reset() function that
can be used by all boards that want to service the watchdog device in
U-Boot. This watchdog servicing is enabled via CONFIG_WATCHDOG.
Without this approach, new boards or platforms needed to implement a
board specific version of this functionality, mostly copy'ing the same
code over and over again into their board or platforms code base.
With this new generic function, the scattered other functions are now
removed to be replaced by the generic one. The new version also enables
the configuration of the watchdog timeout via the DT "timeout-sec"
property (if enabled via CONFIG_OF_CONTROL).
This patch also adds a new flag to the GD flags, to flag that the
watchdog is ready to use and adds the pointer to the watchdog device
to the GD. This enables us to remove the global "watchdog_dev"
variable, which was prone to cause problems because of its potentially
very early use in watchdog_reset(), even before the BSS is cleared.

The Armada 37xx watchdog driver was recently accepted for mainline

different than the one in U-Boot. This patch fixes this.
In the previous implementation there was a tiny period of time when the
watchdog was disabled and the system was vulnerables - this was during
pinging, which was done by disabling, setting, and enabling the counter.
Now pinging is done without disabling the watchdog. We use 2 counters:
Counter 1 is the watchdog counter - on expiry, the system is reset.
Counter 0 is used to reset Counter 1 to start counting from the set
timeout again. So Counter 1 is set to be reset on Counter 0 expiry event
event and pinging is done by forcing an immediate expiry event on
Counter 0.

When a driver declares DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag, it wishes to be
bound before relocation. However due to a bug in the DM core,
the flag only takes effect when devices are statically declared
via U_BOOT_DEVICE(). This bug has been fixed recently by commit
"dm: core: Respect drivers with the DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in
lists_bind_fdt()", but with the fix, it has a side effect that
all existing drivers that declared DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag will
be bound before relocation now. This may expose potential boot
failure on some boards due to insufficient memory during the
pre-relocation stage.
To mitigate this potential impact, the following changes are
implemented:
- Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver, if the driver
only supports configuration from device tree (OF_CONTROL)
- Keep DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver only if the device
is statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE()
- Surround DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag with OF_CONTROL check, for
drivers that support both statically declared devices and
configuration from device tree

There are 4 counters which can be set as CPU watchdog counters.
This driver uses the second counter (ID 1, counting from 0)
(Marvell's Linux also uses second counter by default).
In the future it could be adapted to use other counters, with
definition in the device tree.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

Remove busy looping during watchdog reset.
Each polling of W_PEND_WTGR bit ("finish posted
write") after watchdog reset takes 120-140us
on BeagleBone Black board. Current U-Boot code
has watchdog resets in random places and often
there is situation when watchdog is reset
few times in a row in nested functions.
This adds extra delays and slows the whole system.
Instead of polling W_PEND_WTGR bit, we skip
watchdog reset if the bit is set. Anyway, watchdog
is in the middle of reset *right now*, so we can
just return.
This noticeably increases performance of the
system. Below are some measurements on BBB:
- DFU upload over USB 15% faster
- fastboot image upload 3x times faster
- USB ep0 transfers with 4k packets 20% faster

the existing functions to avoid confusion.
In the end we will have:
1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree
2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only
3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only
All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call

Since commit 623d96e89aca6("imx: wdog: correct wcr register settings")
issuing a 'reset' command causes the system to hang.
Unlike i.MX and Vybrid, the watchdog controller on LS102x is big-endian.
This means that the watchdog on LS1021 has been working by accident as
it does not use the big-endian accessors in drivers/watchdog/imx_watchdog.c.
Commit 623d96e89aca6("imx: wdog: correct wcr register settings") only
revelead the endianness problem on LS102x.
In order to fix the reset hang, introduce a reset_cpu() implementation that
is specific for ls102x, which accesses the watchdog WCR register in big-endian
format. All that is required to reset LS102x is to clear the SRS bit.
This approach is a temporary workaround to avoid a regression for LS102x
in the 2015.10 release. The proper fix is to make the watchdog driver
endian-aware, so that it can work for i.MX, Vybrid and LS102x.

Makefile conflicts are due to additions/removals of
object files on the ARM branch vs KBuild introduction
on the main branch. Resolution consists in adjusting
the list of object files in the main branch version.
This also applies to two files which are not listed
as conflicting but had to be modified:
board/compulab/common/Makefile
board/udoo/Makefile
include/configs/omap4_common.h conflicts are due to
the OMAP4 conversion to ti_armv7_common.h on the ARM
side, and CONFIG_SYS_HZ removal on the main side.
Resolution is to convert as this icludes removal of

include/configs/pdnb3.h is due to a removal on ARM side.
Trivial resolution is to remove the file.

Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols
found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of
binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not
extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols".
This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead
of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in
linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended.
This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function
cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is
inspired.
The name of each former library archive is preserved except for
extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates
references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker
scripts.
This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but
include source files that depend these disabled features in the build,
resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include:
- disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS;
- enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE.
