CMD_DM is used for debug purpose and it shouldn't be enabled by default
via Kconfig. Unfortunately this is in the tree for quite a long time
that's why solution is to use imply DM for all targets which are
enabling DM.

1. Since libavb library alone is highly portable, introduce dedicated
Kconfig symbol for AVB bootloader-dependent operations, so it's possible
to build libavb separately. AVB bootloader-dependent operations include:
* Helpers to process strings in order to build OS bootargs.
* Helpers to access MMC, similar to drivers/fastboot/fb_mmc.c.
* Helpers to alloc/init/free avb ops.
2. Add CONFIG_FASTBOOT dependency, as fastboot buffer is
re-used in partition verification operations.

Currently we can choose between 2 different types of behavior for the
serverip variable:
1) Always overwrite it with the DHCP server IP address (default)
2) Ignore what the DHCP server says (CONFIG_BOOTP_SERVERIP)
This patch adds a 3rd option:
3) Use serverip from DHCP if no serverip is given
(CONFIG_BOOTP_PREFER_SERVERIP)
With this new option, we can have the default case that a boot file gets
loaded from the DHCP provided TFTP server work while allowing users to
specify their own serverip variable to explicitly use a different tftp
server.

Add a new command 'wol': Wait for an incoming Wake-on-LAN packet or
time out if no WoL packed is received.
If the WoL packet contains a password, it is saved in the environment
variable 'wolpassword' using the etherwake format (dot or colon
separated decimals).
Intended use case: a networked device should boot an alternate image.
It's attached to a network on a client site, modifying the DHCP server
configuration or setup of a tftp server is not allowed.
After power on the device waits a few seconds for a WoL packet. If a
packet is received, the device boots the alternate image. Otherwise
it boots the default image.
This method is a simple way to interact with a system via network even
if only the MAC address is known. Tools to send WoL packets are
available on all common platforms.
Some Ethernet drivers seem to pad the incoming packet. The additional
padding bytes might be recognized as Wake-on-LAN password bytes.
By default enabled in pengwyn_defconfig.

This patch adds support to load secure bitstreams(authenticated or
encrypted or both). As of now, this feature is added and tested only
for xilinx bitstreams and the secure bitstream was generated using
xilinx bootgen tool, but the command is defined in more generic way.
Command example to load authenticated and device key
encrypted bitstream is as follows
"fpga loads 0 100000 2000000 0 1"

Introduce CONFIG_IMAGE_SPARSE and CONFIG_CMD_MMC_SWRITE so the "mmc
swrite" command is separated from the fastboot code.
Move image-sparse from common to lib so it's clear it's library code.
Rename CONFIG_FASTBOOT_FLASH_FILLBUF_SIZE to CONFIG_IMAGE_SPARSE_FILLBUF_SIZE
and migrate it to Kconfig.

Separate CMD_FASTBOOT from FASTBOOT and move code and configuration to
drivers/fastboot.
Switch dependencies on FASTBOOT to USB_FUNCTION_FASTBOOT as anyone who wants
FASTBOOT before this series wants USB_FUNCTION_FASTBOOT. Split
USB_FUNCTION_FASTBOOT from FASTBOOT so they retain their existing
behaviour.

We have almost all pieces needed to support RISC-V UEFI binaries in place already.
The only missing piece are ELF relocations for runtime code and
data.
This patch adds respective support in the linker script and the runtime
relocation code. It also allows users to enable the EFI_LOADER configuration
switch on RISC-V platforms.

Because both major revisions are not compatible at all, let's make them
mutually exclusive in Kconfig. This way we will be sure, when using a
command or a library function that it is supported by the right
revision.
Current drivers are currently prefixed by "tpm_", we will prefix TPMv2.x
files by "tpm2_" to make the distinction without moving everything.
The Kconfig menu about TPM drivers is now divided into two sections, one
for each specification. Compliant drivers with one specification will
only show up if this specification _only_ has been selected, otherwise a
comment is displayed.
Once a driver is selected by the user, it selects automatically a
boolean value, that is needed in order to activate the TPM commands.
Selecting the TPM commands will automatically select the right
command/library files.

The Cortex-R* processors are a mid-range CPUs for use in deeply-embedded,
real-time systems. It implements the ARMv7-R architecture, and includes
Thumb-2 technology for optimum code density and processing throughput.
Except for MPU(Memory Protection Unit) and few CP15 registers, most of the
features are compatible with v7 architecture. So,reuse the same armv7
folder and introduce a new config CPU_V7R in order to differentiate
from v7 based platforms.

Currently CPU_V7 kconfig symbol supports only ARMv7A architectures under
armv7 folder. This led to a misconception of creating separate folders
for armv7m and armv7r. There is no reason to create separate folder for
other armv7 based architectures when it can co-exist with few Kconfig
symbols.
As a first step towards a common folder, rename CPU_V7 as CPUV7A. Later
separate Kconfig symbols can be added for CPU_V7R and CPU_V7M and
can co exist in the same folder.

This patch adds a command that enables the calculation of bit operations
(AND, OR, XOR) on binary data from the command line. Memory locations as
well as the contents of environment variables are eligible as sources
and destination of the binary data used in the operations.
The possible applications are manifold: Setting specific bits in
registers using the regular read-OR-write pattern, masking out bits in
bit values, implementation of simple OTP encryption using the XOR
operation, etc.

In January some commits were introduced to mitigate the U-Boot image
size issues we encountered on sunxi builds.
Now with the MMC environment removed we can bring them back, as we
practically don't have a size limit anymore.

Clean up the screaming mess of configuration options that DFU is.
It was impossible to configure DFU such that TFTP is enabled and
USB is not, this patch fixes that and assures that DFU TFTP and
DFU USB can be enabled separatelly and that the correct pieces
of code are compiled in.

config_fallbacks.h has some logic that sets HAVE_BLOCK_DEVICE
based on a list of enabled options. Moving HAVE_BLOCK_DEVICE to

cmd/Makefile has:
ifdef CONFIG_FPGA
obj-$(CONFIG_CMD_FPGA) += fpga.o
endif
which means that if CONFIG_FPGA is not set, CONFIG_CMD_FPGA silently
does nothing. Let's remove that Makefile conditional and instead express
this equivalent dependency in Kconfig, so a lot of redundant
# CONFIG_CMD_FPGA is not set
can be removed from board defconfigs that don't actually have an FPGA.

In the Linux Kernel on ARM64, the Image.COMPRESSION file is not
self-extracting in the way that x86 and ARM images are. So when
CMD_BOOTI is enabled we should also default to enabling CMD_UNZIP and
CONFIG_LZMA in order for the user to be able to decompress many of the
common compressions that will be done to an Image file.

A testing framework for the EFI API is provided.
It can be executed with the 'bootefi selftest' command.
It is coded in a way that at a later stage we may turn it
into a standalone EFI application. The current build system
does not allow this yet.
All tests use a driver model and are run in three phases:
setup, execute, teardown.
A test may be setup and executed at boottime,
it may be setup at boottime and executed at runtime,
or it may be setup and executed at runtime.
After executing all tests the system is reset.

This patch provides support in u-boot for renaming GPT
partitions. The renaming is accomplished via new 'gpt swap'
and 'gpt rename' commands.
The 'swap' mode returns an error if no matching partition names
are found, or if the number of partitions with one name does not equal
the number with the second name. The 'rename' variant always
succeeds as long as a partition with the provided number exists.
Rewriting the partition table has the side-effect that all partitions
end up with "msftdata" flag set. The reason is that partition type
PARTITION_BASIC_DATA_GUID is hard-coded in the gpt_fill_pte()
function. This does not appear to cause any harm.

Remove the ARCH_SUNXI and RBTREE dependencies.
CMD_UBIFS already gets RBTREE from CMD_UBI (from MTD_UBI), and should
the first become independant from the latter, there would likely be a
dependency on MTD_UBI anyway.

Currently these (board agnostic) commands cannot be selected using
menuconfig and friends. Fix this the obvious way. As part of this,
don't muddle the meaning of CONFIG_HASH_VERIFY to mean both 'hash -v'
and "we have a hashing command" as this makes the Kconfig logic odd.

At present IDE support is controlled by CONFIG_CMD_IDE. Add a separate
CONFIG_IDE option so that IDE support can be enabled without requiring
the 'ide' command.
Update existing users and move the ide driver into drivers/block since
it should not be in common/.

CMD_MTDPARTS is something the user might or might not want to select, and
might depends on (or be selected by) other options too.
This is even truer for the MTDIDS_DEFAULT and MTDPARTS_DEFAULT options that
might change from one board to another, or from one user to the other,
depending on what it expects and what storage devices are available.
In order to ease that configuration, add those options to Kconfig.

So far CONFIG_MD5SUM would need to be set by a board's include file.
Since the command is really generic, move it over to Kconfig to allow
it to be defined by either a board's defconfig, menuconfig or some
config snippet merged via mergeconfig.sh.

The previous commit ("add a new command to show .config contents")
improves the basic infrastructure of "embed a compressed file into
the U-Boot image, and print it by a command". The same pattern for
the "license" command.
This commit reworks the command to improve the following:
[1] Improve log style
Kbuild style log
GZIP cmd/license_data.gz
CHK cmd/license_data_gz.h
UPD cmd/license_data_gz.h
CHK cmd/license_data_size.h
UPD cmd/license_data_size.h
instead of the bare Make log:

[2] Collect related code into the "cmd" directory
Prior to this commit, the license.h was created by tools/Makefile,
placed under the "include" directory, included from cmd/license.c,
and deleted by the top-level Makefile. It is not a good idea to
scatter related code.
[3] Drop the fixed-malloc size LICENSE_MAX
Just allocate the minimum required size of buffer because we know
the size of the original gpl-2.0.txt.
[4] Fix more issues
Terminate the buffer with zero to prevent puts() from over-running.

This feature is inspired by /proc/config.gz of Linux. In Linux,
if CONFIG_IKCONFIG is enabled, the ".config" file contents are
embedded in the kernel image. If CONFIG_IKCONFIG_PROC is also
enabled, the ".config" contents are exposed to /proc/config.gz.
Users can do "zcat /proc/config.gz" to check which config options
are enabled on the running kernel image.
The idea is almost the same here; if CONFIG_CMD_CONFIG is enabled,
the ".config" contents are compressed and saved in the U-Boot image,
then printed by the new command "config".
The usage is quite simple. Enable CONFIG_CMD_CONFIG, then run
> config
from the command line interface. The ".config" contents will be
printed on the console.
This feature increases the U-Boot image size by about 4KB (this is
mostly due to the gzip-compressed .config file). By default, it is
enabled only for Sandbox because we do not care about the memory
footprint on it. Of course, this feature is architecture agnostic,
so you can enable it on any board if the image size increase is
acceptable for you.

Currently, CMD_PXE is forcibly enabled in config_distro_defaults.h, so
that general purpose distributions can rely on it being defined. This
header is included, under conditions or not, by various archs or
famillies of archs / SoCs.
However, it is very possible that boards based on those SoCs will not
have a physical ethernet connector at all, even if the have a MAC; for
example, the Nanopi Neo AIR (sunxi H3) does not. It is also possible
that network booting is absolutely not necessary for a device.
However, it is not possible to disable the PXE command, as it is
forcibly enabled and is non-configurable.
But it turns out we already have a config option to build a distro-ready
image, in the name of DISTRO_DEFAULTS.
Move CMD_PXE out of the hard-coded config_distro_defaults.h into a
Kconfig option, that gets selected by DISTRO_DEFAULTS when it is set.

Add new command that provides possibility to enable the
background operations handshake functionality
(BKOPS_EN, EXT_CSD byte [163]) on eMMC devices.
This is an optional feature of eMMCs, the setting is write-once.
The command must be explicitly taken into use with
CONFIG_CMD_BKOPS_ENABLE.

Today we can compile a self-contained hello world efi test binary that
allows us to quickly verify whether the EFI loader framwork works.
We can use that binary outside of the self-contained test case though,
by providing it to a to-be-tested system via tftp.
This patch separates compilation of the helloworld.efi file from
including it in the u-boot binary for "bootefi hello". It also modifies
the efi_loader test case to enable travis to pick up the compiled file.
Because we're now no longer bloating the resulting u-boot binary, we
can enable compilation always, giving us good travis test coverage.

Introduce a hidden USB_FUNCTION_DFU Kconfig option and select it for
CMD_DFU (as we must have the DFU command enabled to do anything DFU).
Make all of the entries in drivers/dfu/Kconfig depend on CMD_DFU and add
options for all of the back end choices that DFU can make use of.

This command is used to boot ARM64 Linux.
I made DISTRO_DEFAULTS select this option for ARM64 to respect
include/config_distro_defaults.h.

Since commit bb597c0eeb ("common: bootdelay: move CONFIG_BOOTDELAY
into a Kconfig option"), CONFIG_BOOTDELAY is defined for all boards.
Prior to that commit, it was allowed to unset CONFIG_BOOTDELAY to
not compile common/autoboot.c, as described in common/Makefile:

endif
It was a bit odd to enable/disable code with an integer type option,
but it was how this option worked before that commit, and several
boards actually unset it to opt out of the autoboot feature.
This commit adds a new bool option, CONFIG_AUTOBOOT, and makes
CONFIG_BOOTDELAY depend on it.
I chose "default y" for this option because most boards use the
autoboot. I added "# CONFIG_AUTOBOOT is not set" for the boards that
had not set CONFIG_BOOTDELAY prior to the bad commit.

The qfw command interface used to depend on X86, this patch removes
this restriction so it can be built for sandbox for testing. For normal
usage, it can only be used with CONFIG_QEMU.

This patch splits qfw command interface and qfw core function into two
files, and introduces a new Kconfig option (CONFIG_QFW) for qfw core.
Now when qfw command interface is enabled, it will automatically select
qfw core. This patch also makes the ACPI table generation select
CONFIG_QFW.

which is not required for small configuration which requires libfdt

Add a block device cache to speed up repeated reads of block devices by
various filesystems.
This small amount of cache can dramatically speed up filesystem
operations by skipping repeated reads of common areas of a block
device (typically directory structures).
This has shown to have some benefit on FAT filesystem operations of
loading a kernel and RAM disk, but more dramatic benefits on ext4
filesystems when the kernel and/or RAM disk are spread across
multiple extent header structures as described in commit fc0fc50.
The cache is implemented through a minimal list (block_cache) maintained
in most-recently-used order and count of the current number of entries
(cache_count). It uses a maximum block count setting to prevent copies
of large block reads and an upper bound on the number of cached areas.
The maximum number of entries in the cache defaults to 32 and the maximum
number of blocks per cache entry has a default of 2, which has shown to
produce the best results on testing of ext4 and FAT filesystems.
The 'blkcache' command (enabled through CONFIG_CMD_BLOCK_CACHE) allows
changing these values and can be used to tune for a particular filesystem
layout.

In order to execute an EFI application, we need to bridge the gap between
U-Boot's notion of executing images and EFI's notion of doing the same.
The best path forward IMHO here is to stick completely to the way U-Boot
deals with payloads. You manually load them using whatever method to RAM
and then have a simple boot command to execute them. So in our case, you
would do
# load mmc 0:1 $loadaddr grub.efi
# bootefi $loadaddr
which then gets you into a grub shell. Fdt information known to U-boot
via the fdt addr command is also passed to the EFI payload.

There are a lot of unrelated files in common, including all of the commands.
Moving them into their own directory makes them easier to find and is more
logical.
Some commands include non-command code, such as cmd_scsi.c. This should be
sorted out at some point so that the function can be enabled with or without
the associated command.
Unfortunately, with m68k I get this error:
