bevy_core: make bevy_reflect optional (#14179)
# Objective

Allow use of `bevy_core` types without needing `bevy_reflect`.

## Solution

Make `bevy_reflect` within `bevy_core` optional. It's compiled in by
default.
Turn on reflect in dependencies as well when this feature is on.

## Testing

- Did you test these changes? If so, how?

I did a `cargo hack -p bevy_core--each-feature build`.

Determine msrv for every standalone bevy_* crate. (#13211)
# Objective

As was pointed out in #13183, `bevy_mikktspace` is missing it's msrv
from it `Cargo.toml`. This promted me to check the msrv of every
`bevy_*` crate. Closes #13183.

## Solution

- Call `cargo check` with different rust versions on every bevy crate
until it doesn't complain.
- Write down the rust version `cargo check` started working.

## Testing

- Install `cargo-msrv`.
- Run `cargo msrv verify`.
- Rejoice.

---

## Changelog

Every published bevy crate now specifies a MSRV. If your rust toolchain
isn't at least version `1.77.0` You'll likely not be able to compile
most of bevy.

## Migration Guide

If your rust toolchain is bellow version`1.77.0, update.

bevy_core: Derive useful traits on FrameCount (#13291)
# Objective

I am emboldened by my last small PR and am here with another.

- **Describe the objective or issue this PR addresses.**

It would be nice if `FrameCount` could be used by downstream plugins
that want to use frame data. The example that I have in mind is
[`leafwing_input_playback`](https://github.com/Leafwing-Studios/leafwing_input_playback/issues/29)
which has a [duplicate implementation of
`FrameCount`](https://github.com/Leafwing-Studios/leafwing_input_playback/blob/main/src/frame_counting.rs#L9-L37)
used in several structs which rely on those derives (or otherwise the
higher-level structs would have to implement these traits manually).
That crate, using `FrameCount`, tracks input frames and timestamps and
enables various playback modes.

I am aware that bevy org refrains from deriving lots of unnecessary
stuff on bevy types to avoid compile time creep. It is worth mentioning
the (equally reasonable) alternative that downstream crates _should_
implement some `FrameCount` themselves if they want special behavior
from it.

## Solution

- **Describe the solution used to achieve the objective above.**

I added derives for `PartialEq, Eq, PartialOrd, Ord` and implementations
for `serde::{Deserialize, Serialize}` to `FrameCount`.

## Testing

Manually confirmed that the serde implementation works, but that's all.
Let me know if I should do more here.

Make feature(doc_auto_cfg) work (#12642)
# Objective

- In #12366 `![cfg_attr(docsrs, feature(doc_auto_cfg))] `was added. But
to apply it it needs `--cfg=docsrs` in rustdoc-args.

## Solution

- Apply `--cfg=docsrs` to all crates and CI.

I also added `[package.metadata.docs.rs]` to all crates to avoid adding
code behind a feature and forget adding the metadata.

Add "all-features = true" to docs.rs metadata for most crates (#12366)
# Objective

Fix missing `TextBundle` (and many others) which are present in the main
crate as default features but optional in the sub-crate. See:

- https://docs.rs/bevy/0.13.0/bevy/ui/node_bundles/index.html
- https://docs.rs/bevy_ui/0.13.0/bevy_ui/node_bundles/index.html

~~There are probably other instances in other crates that I could track
down, but maybe "all-features = true" should be used by default in all
sub-crates? Not sure.~~ (There were many.) I only noticed this because
rust-analyzer's "open docs" features takes me to the sub-crate, not the
main one.

## Solution

Add "all-features = true" to docs.rs metadata for crates that use
features.

## Changelog

### Changed

- Unified features documented on docs.rs between main crate and
sub-crates

Disentangle bevy_utils/bevy_core's reexported dependencies (#12313)
# Objective
Make bevy_utils less of a compilation bottleneck. Tackle #11478.

## Solution
* Move all of the directly reexported dependencies and move them to
where they're actually used.
* Remove the UUID utilities that have gone unused since `TypePath` took
over for `TypeUuid`.
* There was also a extraneous bytemuck dependency on `bevy_core` that
has not been used for a long time (since `encase` became the primary way
to prepare GPU buffers).
* Remove the `all_tuples` macro reexport from bevy_ecs since it's
accessible from `bevy_utils`.

---

## Changelog
Removed: Many of the reexports from bevy_utils (petgraph, uuid, nonmax,
smallvec, and thiserror).
Removed: bevy_core's reexports of bytemuck.

## Migration Guide
bevy_utils' reexports of petgraph, uuid, nonmax, smallvec, and thiserror
have been removed.

bevy_core' reexports of bytemuck's types has been removed.

Add them as dependencies in your own crate instead.

Clean up type registrations (#12314)
# Objective
Fix #12304. Remove unnecessary type registrations thanks to #4154.

## Solution
Conservatively remove type registrations. Keeping the top level
components, resources, and events, but dropping everything else that is
a type of a member of those types.

Standardize toml format with taplo (#10594)
# Objective

- Standardize fmt for toml files

## Solution

- Add [taplo](https://taplo.tamasfe.dev/) to CI (check for fmt and diff
for toml files), for context taplo is used by the most popular extension
in VScode [Even Better
TOML](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=tamasfe.even-better-toml
- Add contribution section to explain toml fmt with taplo.

Now to pass CI you need to run `taplo fmt --option indent_string=" "` or
if you use vscode have the `Even Better TOML` extension with 4 spaces
for indent

Add [lints] table, fix adding #![allow(clippy::type_complexity)] everywhere (#10011)
# Objective

- Fix adding `#![allow(clippy::type_complexity)]` everywhere. like #9796

## Solution

- Use the new [lints] table that will land in 1.74
(https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/cargo/reference/unstable.html#lints)
- inherit lint to the workspace, crates and examples.
```
[lints]
workspace = true
```

## Changelog

- Bump rust version to 1.74
- Enable lints table for the workspace
```toml
[workspace.lints.clippy]
type_complexity = "allow"
```
- Allow type complexity for all crates and examples
```toml
[lints]
workspace = true
```

87d4c6380d Add serialize feature to bevy_core (#6423)
# Objective

`bevy_core` is missing a feature corresponding to the `serialize` feature on the `bevy` crate. Similar to #6378 and https://github.com/bevyengine/bevy/pull/6379 to serialize `Name` easily.

## Solution

Add this feature and hand-written serialization for `Name` (to avoid storing `hash` field).

---

## Changelog

### Added

* `Serialize` and `Deserialize` derives for `Name` under `serialize` feature.

0f3f628c48 tick local executor (#6121)
# Objective

- #4466 broke local tasks running.
- Fixes https://github.com/bevyengine/bevy/issues/6120

## Solution

- Add system for ticking local executors on main thread into bevy_core where the tasks pools are initialized.
- Add ticking local executors into thread executors

## Changelog

- tick all thread local executors in task pool.

## Notes

- ~~Not 100% sure about this PR. Ticking the local executor for the main thread in scope feels a little kludgy as it requires users of bevy_tasks to be calling scope periodically for those tasks to make progress.~~ took this out in favor of a system that ticks the local executors.

ffde86efa0 Update to edition 2021 on master (#3028)
Objective
During work on #3009 I've found that not all jobs use actions-rs, and therefore, an previous version of Rust is used for them. So while compilation and other stuff can pass, checking markup and Android build may fail with compilation errors.

Solution
This PR adds `action-rs` for any job running cargo, and updates the edition to 2021.

e167a1d9cf Relicense Bevy under the dual MIT or Apache-2.0 license (#2509)
This relicenses Bevy under the dual MIT or Apache-2.0 license. For rationale, see #2373.

* Changes the LICENSE file to describe the dual license. Moved the MIT license to docs/LICENSE-MIT. Added the Apache-2.0 license to docs/LICENSE-APACHE. I opted for this approach over dumping both license files at the root (the more common approach) for a number of reasons:
  * Github links to the "first" license file (LICENSE-APACHE) in its license links (you can see this in the wgpu and rust-analyzer repos). People clicking these links might erroneously think that the apache license is the only option. Rust and Amethyst both use COPYRIGHT or COPYING files to solve this problem, but this creates more file noise (if you do everything at the root) and the naming feels way less intuitive.
  * People have a reflex to look for a LICENSE file. By providing a single license file at the root, we make it easy for them to understand our licensing approach.
  * I like keeping the root clean and noise free
  * There is precedent for putting the apache and mit license text in sub folders (amethyst)
* Removed the `Copyright (c) 2020 Carter Anderson` copyright notice from the MIT license. I don't care about this attribution, it might make license compliance more difficult in some cases, and it didn't properly attribute other contributors. We shoudn't replace it with something like "Copyright (c) 2021 Bevy Contributors" because "Bevy Contributors" is not a legal entity. Instead, we just won't include the copyright line (which has precedent ... Rust also uses this approach).
* Updates crates to use the new "MIT OR Apache-2.0" license value
* Removes the old legion-transform license file from bevy_transform. bevy_transform has been its own, fully custom implementation for a long time and that license no longer applies.
* Added a License section to the main readme
* Updated our Bevy Plugin licensing guidelines.

As a follow-up we should update the website to properly describe the new license.

189df30a83 use bytemuck crate instead of Byteable trait (#2183)
This gets rid of multiple unsafe blocks that we had to maintain ourselves, and instead depends on library that's commonly used and supported by the ecosystem. We also get support for glam types for free.

There is still some things to clear up with the `Bytes` trait, but that is a bit more substantial change and can be done separately. Also there are already separate efforts to use `crevice` crate, so I've just added that as a TODO.
