## Plugins
2020-02-16 17:42:27 +00:00
**xxh plugin** is the set of xsh scripts which will be run when you'll use xxh. You can create xxh plugin with your lovely aliases, tools or color theme and xxh will bring them to your ssh sessions.

## Notes
### Using pip and python
2020-02-22 07:41:49 +00:00
The xxh xonsh will use pip and python from `xonsh.AppImage` by default. You can update pip and install packages ordinally:
```
2020-02-23 09:08:21 +00:00
$ pip install --upgrade pip
$ pip install --upgrade pandas
2020-02-22 07:41:49 +00:00
```
2020-02-24 23:11:46 +00:00
The packages will appear in `~/.xxh/pip` by default.
2019-11-03 14:34:38 +00:00
2020-02-29 13:50:46 +00:00
### Install [xontribs](https://xon.sh/xontribs.html)
2020-02-29 13:38:33 +00:00
2020-02-29 13:50:46 +00:00
To install [xontribs ](https://xon.sh/xontribs.html ) in xxh session use `xontrib-install` :
2020-02-29 13:38:33 +00:00
```
xontrib-install xontrib-autojump
2020-02-29 13:51:21 +00:00
xontrib load autojump
2020-02-29 13:38:33 +00:00
```
Don't use `pip` or `xpip` to install xontribs! ([details](https://github.com/xonsh/xonsh/issues/3463))
2020-02-16 21:05:39 +00:00
### How it works?
2019-11-03 14:34:38 +00:00
2020-02-17 09:23:42 +00:00
When you run `xxh <host>` command:
2019-11-03 14:34:38 +00:00
2020-02-17 09:23:42 +00:00
1. If it needed xxh will download portable xonsh shell and store locally to future use.
2019-11-03 14:34:38 +00:00
2020-02-24 23:11:46 +00:00
2. If it needed xxh will upload the portable xonsh, init scripts and plugins to the host.
2019-11-03 14:34:38 +00:00
2020-02-24 23:11:46 +00:00
3. Finally xxh will make ssh connection to the server and run portable xonsh shell without any system installs and affection on the target host.

2020-02-12 14:08:21 +00:00
## Development
2020-02-29 19:08:26 +00:00
🛠️ In the [xxh-dev ](https://github.com/xonssh/xxh-dev ) repo there is full [docker ](https://www.docker.com/ )ised environment for development, testing and contribution. The process of testing and development is orchestrated by `xde` tool and as easy as possible.
