Commit 7a777f6d6f ("mmc: Add generic Kconfig option") created
a Kconfig entry for this option without any actual moves, then
commit 44c798799f ("sunxi: Use Kconfig CONFIG_MMC") moved
instances only for SUNXI.
We generally do not like such partial moves. This kind of work
is automated by tools/moveconfig.py, so it is pretty easy to
complete this move.
I am adding "default ARM || PPC || SANDBOX" (suggested by Tom).
This shortens the configs and will ease new board porting.
This commit was created as follows:
[1] Edit Kconfig (remove the "depends on", add the "default",
copy the prompt and help message from Linux)
[2] Run 'tools/moveconfig.py -y -s -r HEAD MMC'

At present TPL uses the same options as SPL support. In a few cases the board
config enables or disables the SPL options depending on whether
CONFIG_TPL_BUILD is defined.
With the move to Kconfig, options are determined for the whole build and
(without a hack like an #undef in a header file) cannot be controlled in this
way.
Create new TPL options for these and update users. This will allow Kconfig
conversion to proceed for these boards.

We need to ensure that CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT is configured via Kconfig so
that it is always available to the build system. Otherwise we can run
into cases where we have inconsistent sizes of certain attributes.
Ravi Babu reported offset mismatch of struct dwc3 across files since
commit 95ebc253e6 ("types.h: move and redefine resource_size_t").
Since the commit, resource_addr_t points to phys_addr_t, whose size
is dependent on CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT for ARM architecture.
I tried my best to use "select" where possible (for example, ARMv8
architecture) because I think this kind of option is generally user-
unconfigurable. However, I see some of PowerPC boards have 36BIT
defconfigs as well as 32BIT ones. I moved CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to the
defconfigs for such boards.
CONFIG_36BIT is no longer referenced, so all of the defines were
removed from CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS.

Loading the fdt at 0xc00000 fails if the uncompressed kernel image is
greater than 12 MiB, which is quite common with modern kernels and
multiplatform defconfigs. Move fdtaddr to 0x1e00000 which is just under
the ramdiskaddr on most targets.

There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are
still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this.

Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure
this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is
enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the
image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can
be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot
and SPL.
Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing.

For most PPC platforms, they will call the first get_clocks() in
init_sequence_f[] as they define CONFIG_PPC. CONFIG_SYS_FSL_CLK is
then defined to call the second get_clocks(), which should be
redundant for PPC.

We have finished Generic Board conversion for ARM and PowerPC, i.e.
all the boards have been converted except OpenRISC, SuperH, SPARC,
which have not supported Generic Board framework yet.
Select SYS_GENERIC_BOARD in arch/Kconfig and delete all the macro
defines in include/configs/*.h.

Some archs/boards specify their own default by pre-defining the config
which causes the Kconfig system to mix up the order of the configs in
the defconfigs... This will cause merge pain if allowed to proliferate.
Remove the configs that behave this way from the archs.
A few configs still remain, but that is because they only exist as
defaults and do not have a proper Kconfig entry. Those appear to be:

We are about to switch to Kconfig in the next commit.
But there are something to get done beforehand.
In Kconfig, include/generated/autoconf.h defines boolean
CONFIG macros as 1.
CONFIG_SPL and CONFIG_TPL, if defined, must be set to 1.
Otherwise, when switching to Kconfig, the build log
would be sprinkled with warning messages like this:

There was no enough memory for malloc in SPL booting from spi flash, so
relayout the memory in SPL: reduce the memory for global data from 16K
Bytes to 4K Bytes, save the space for malloc.

u-boot binary size for Freescale mpc85xx platforms is 512KB.
This has been reached to upper limit for some of the platforms causig
linker error.
So, Increase the u-boot binary size to 768KB.

The definitions for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT are varied with little reason other
than to display the board name. Over half the definitions are "==> ", so
make this the default. The rest of the boards remain unchanged to avoid
breaking any external scripts expecting a certain prompt.

The pci_indirect.c file is always compiled when
CONFIG_PCI is defined although the indirect PCI
bridge support is not needed by every board.
Introduce a new CONFIG_PCI_INDIRECT_BRIDGE
config option and only compile indirect PCI
bridge support if this options is enabled.
Also add the new option into the configuration
files of the boards which needs that.
Compile tested for powerpc, x86, arm and nds32.

This patch is essentially an update of u-boot MTD subsystem to
the state of Linux-3.7.1 with exclusion of some bits:
- the update is concentrated on NAND, no onenand or CFI/NOR/SPI
flashes interfaces are updated EXCEPT for API changes.
- new large NAND chips support is there, though some updates
have got in Linux-3.8.-rc1, (which will follow on top of this patch).
To produce this update I used tag v3.7.1 of linux-stable repository.
The update was made using application of relevant patches,
with changes relevant to U-Boot-only stuff sticked together
to keep bisectability. Then all changes were grouped together
to this patch.

With the u-boot-with-spl.bin rule calling $(OBJCOPY) with
CONFIG_SPL_PAD_TO, and CONFIG_SPL_PAD_TO defaulting to
CONFIG_SPL_MAX_SIZE we cannot use math here, so set it to 4096 rather
than 4 * 1024.

however, CONFIG_FSL_SATA_V2 is defined in asm/config_mpc85xx.h.
it will never take effective in the board configuration file for
this kind of code :

Add TLB mappings, board target options, and configuration items
need for SPI/SD boot.
Since P1022DS RevB board, the NOR flash have been changed to 16 bit/28bit
address flash, therefore, when SDHC/ESPI booting and access to eLBC,
the PMUXCR[0~1] must be set to 10b, and PMUXCR[9~10] must be set to
00b for them.
Configure the PX_BRDCFG0[0~1] to 10b which is connected to
SPI devices as SPI_CS(0:3)_B.

perf_mode, diuregs, dium, and diuerr), update 'tftpflash' variable,
and add videobootargs as a Linux command line variable (so that we can
easily pass video= to the kernel).

Exactly one board has defined CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT_HUSH_PS2 to a value
different than "> " which is vision2. I have Cc'd the maintainer here
as I strongly suspect this is a bug rather than intentional behavior.

Macro CONFIG_FSL_SATA_V2 is defined if the SOC has a V2 Freescale SATA
controller, so it should be defined in config_mpc85xx.h instead of the various
board header files. So now CONFIG_FSL_SATA_V2 is always defined on the P1013,
P1022, P2041, P3041, P5010, and P5020. It was already defined for the
P1010 and P1014.

The macro CONFIG_ENABLE_36BIT_PHYS is used to indicate that the given SOC is
capable of 36-bit physical addresses, even if such large addresses are not
used. On two boards, this macro was enabled only when building a 36-bit
image.

Introduce the CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS_HIGH and CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS_LOW
macros, which contain the high and low portions of CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS.
This is necessary for the assembly-language code that relocates CCSR, since
the assembler does not understand 64-bit constants.
CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS is automatically defined from the
CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS_HIGH and CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS_LOW macros, so it
should not be defined in a board header file. Similarly,
CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_DEFAULT is defined for each SOC in config_mpc85xx.h, so
it should also not be defined in the board header file.
CONFIG_SYS_CCSR_DO_NOT_RELOCATE is a "short-cut" macro that guarantees that
CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_PHYS is set to the same value as CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_DEFAULT,
and so CCSR will not be relocated.
Since CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_DEFAULT is locked to a fixed value, multi-stage U-Boot
builds (e.g. NAND) are required to relocate CCSR only during the last stage
(i.e. the "real" U-Boot). All other stages should define
CONFIG_SYS_CCSR_DO_NOT_RELOCATE to ensure that CCSR is not relocated.
README is updated with descriptions of all the CONFIG_SYS_CCSRBAR_xxx macros.

should also allow the kernel image to be up to 64M decompressed. This
also matches what we pass to the OS based on the ePAPR specification.

Use the 'video-mode' environment variable (for Freescale chips that have a
DIU display controller) to designate the full video configuration. Previously,
the DIU driver used the 'monitor' variable, and it was used only to determine
the output video port.
The old definition of the "monitor" environment variable only determines
which video port to use for output. This variable was set to a number (0,

Clean up the macro defintions used to enable DIU (video) support on the
MPC8610HPCD and the MPC5121ADS so that they look more like the P1022DS,
which is newer. Add software cursor support to all three boards.
Also document the CONFIG_FSL_DIU_FB in the README.

Move fsl_ddr_get_spd into common mpc8xxx/ddr/main.c as most boards
pretty much do the same thing. The only variations are in how many
controllers or DIMMs per controller exist. To make this work we
standardize on the names of the SPD_EEPROM_ADDRESS defines based on the
use case of the board.
We allow boards to override get_spd to either do board specific fixups
to the SPD data or deal with any unique behavior of how the SPD eeproms
are wired up.

Fix the bits for ngpixis to reset to alternative bank. Originally the mask
was 0xE0, which left it possible to reset to bank 3 if DIP switch is set to
boot from bank 1. Changing to 0xF0 gurantees to reset to bank 2.

Rather than defining it config.mk we can set it in config.h and remove
config.mk from several boards that don't need it.
We mimic what 4xx does and introduce CONFIG_RESET_VECTOR_ADDRESS for
config.h to set.
