This patch adds support for the Marvell Octeon watchdog driver, which
currently only support the ARM64 Octeon TX & TX2 platforms. Since the
IP is pretty similar, it makes sense to extend this driver to also
support the MIPS Octeon SoC.
A follow-up patch will enable this watchdog support on the EBB7304
eval board.

The watchdog timer is part of the sl28cpld management controller. The
watchdog timer usually supervises the bootloader boot-up and if it bites
the failsafe bootloader will be activated. Apart from that it supports
the usual board level reset and one SMARC speciality: driving the
WDT_TIMEOUT# signal.

The Sunxi boards only support a 16 second watchdog timeout. This is too
short to boot Linux. The UEFI specification requires 300 seconds as
default timeout.
Change the default for CONFIG_WATCHDOG_AUTOSTART for ARCH_SUNXI.

To avoid the need of extra boot scripting on AM65x for loading a
watchdog firmware, add the required rproc init and loading logic for the
first R5F core to the watchdog start handler. In case the R5F cluster is
in lock-step mode, also initialize the second core. The firmware itself
is embedded into U-Boot binary to ease access to it and ensure it is
properly hashed in case of secure boot.
One possible firmware source is https://github.com/siemens/k3-rti-wdt.
The board is responsible for providing the firmware as additional
loadable via the U-Boot fit image. The driver will pick up its location
from /fit-images/k3-rti-wdt-firmware then.

A rather common kind of external watchdog circuit is one that is kept
alive by toggling a gpio. Add a driver for handling such a watchdog.
The corresponding linux driver apparently has support for some
watchdog circuits which can be disabled by tri-stating the gpio, but I
have never actually encountered such a chip in the wild; the whole
point of adding an external watchdog is usually that it is not in any
way under software control. For forward-compatibility, and to make DT
describe the hardware, the current driver only supports devices that
have the always-running property. I went a little back and forth on
whether I should fail ->probe or only ->start, and ended up deciding
->start was the right place.
The compatible string is probably a little odd as it has nothing to do
with linux per se - however, I chose that to make .dts snippets
reusable between device trees used with U-Boot and linux, and this is
the (only) compatible string that linux' corresponding driver and DT
binding accepts. I have asked whether one should/could add "wdt-gpio"
to that binding, but the answer was no:

If someone feels strongly about this, I can certainly remove the

In some cases it is useful to compile support for U-Boot command 'wdt'
without starting HW watchdog in early U-Boot phase. For example when the
user want to start the watchdog only on demand by some boot script.
This change adds a new compile option WATCHDOG_AUTOSTART to control whether
U-Boot should automatically start the watchdog during init phase or not.
This option is enabled by default as it was the default behavior prior
introducing this new change. When compiling U-Boot users can decide to turn
this option off.

AST2600 has 8 watchdog timers including 8 sets of
32-bit decrement counters, based on 1MHz clock.
A 64-bit reset mask is also supported to specify
which controllers should be reset by the WDT reset.

This is based on the Linux kernel driver for the RTI watchdog.
To actually reset the system on an AM65x, it requires firmware running
on the R5 that accepts the NMI and issues the actual system reset via
TISCI. Kind of an iTCO, except that this watchdog hardware has support
for no-way-out, and only for that.
On the J721E, reset works without extra firmware help when routing the
RTI interrupt via the ESM.

According to Server Base System Architecture (SBSA) specification,
the SBSA Generic Watchdog has two stage timeouts: the first signal
(WS0) is for alerting the system by interrupt, the second one (WS1) is a
real hardware reset.

This driver can operate ARM SBSA Generic Watchdog as a single stage
In the single stage mode, when the timeout is reached, your system
will be reset by WS1. The first signal (WS0) is ignored.

Commit 06985289d4 ("watchdog: Implement generic watchdog_reset()
version") introduced an automatic selection of CONFIG_WATCHDOG by
CONFIG_WDT. But for boards selecting CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG, like
boards have a powerpc 8xx, CONFIG_WATCHDOG shall not be selected
as they are mutually exclusive.
Make CONFIG_WATCHDOG dependent on !CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG

Commit f3729ba6e7 ("watchdog: mpc8xx_wdt: Watchdog driver and macros
cleanup") switched the watchdog to CONFIG_WATCHDOG. But this is not
compatible with the 8xx because it starts the watchdog HW timer at
reset and must be serviced from the very beginning including while
U-boot is executed in the firmware before relocation in RAM.
Select CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG and make hw_watchdog_reset() visible.
Meanwhile, finalise the cleanup of arch/powerpc/cpu/mpc8xx/Kconfig by
removing the lines put in comment in that commit, and also remove
again the selection of CONFIG_MPC8xx_WATCHDOG which was removed by
that commit and brought back by mistake by commit b3134ffbd9
("watchdog: Kconfig: Sort entry alphabetically")
Note that there was an 'imply WATCHDOG' in the original commit but
it disappeared in the Kconfig alphabetical sorting, so no need to
remove it here.

accordingly, no functional change. The S10 enables the WDT only in

CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG is no more a default option for AM33XX devices
after DT/DM conversion, adjusted kconfig accordingly.
DM watchdog support is enabled by default in SPL. The SPL image
doesn't fit into SRAM because of size constraints and build breaks
with an overflow. For this reason DM watchdog support should be
disabled in SPL, driver code should be adjusted accordingly to serve
this purpose.
Built and tested on AM335x device (BeagleboneBlack), compile tested
for all other AM33xx based boards.

Currently mach-mt7620 contains only support for mt7628. To avoid confusion,
rename mach-mt7620 to mach-mtmips, which means MediaTek MIPS platforms.
MT7620 and MT7628 should be distinguished by SOC_MT7620 and SOC_MT7628
because they do not share the same lowlevel codes.
Dependencies of four drivers are changed to SOC_MT7628 as these drivers
are only used by MT7628.

With the generic watchdog driver now implemented, this patch removes
some legacy stuff from the MPC8xx watchdog driver and its Kconfig
integration. CONFIG_MPC8xx_WATCHDOG is completely removed and
hw_watchdog_reset() is made static, as the watchdog will now get
serviced via the DM infrastructure if enabled via CONFIG_WATCHDOG.

This patch tries to implement a generic watchdog_reset() function that
can be used by all boards that want to service the watchdog device in
U-Boot. This watchdog servicing is enabled via CONFIG_WATCHDOG.
Without this approach, new boards or platforms needed to implement a
board specific version of this functionality, mostly copy'ing the same
code over and over again into their board or platforms code base.
With this new generic function, the scattered other functions are now
removed to be replaced by the generic one. The new version also enables
the configuration of the watchdog timeout via the DT "timeout-sec"
property (if enabled via CONFIG_OF_CONTROL).
This patch also adds a new flag to the GD flags, to flag that the
watchdog is ready to use and adds the pointer to the watchdog device
to the GD. This enables us to remove the global "watchdog_dev"
variable, which was prone to cause problems because of its potentially
very early use in watchdog_reset(), even before the BSS is cleared.

The generic wdt_start API expects to be called with the timeout in
milliseconds. Update the orion_wdt driver to accept a timeout in
milliseconds and use the clock rate specified in the dts to convert the
timeout to an appropriate value for the timer reload register.

This patch removes the CONFIG_AT91_HW_WDT_TIMEOUT as its not needed any
more. The WD timeout value can be provided via the "timeout-sec" DT
property. If not provided this way, the default value of 2 seconds will
be used.
