The change actually maps PCI I/O window to the same address on PCI bus
as it is stated by a comment, before the change transfers to the PCI I/O

of the PCI address in PCIIOBR (note that it is set to 0x0).

In pci_uclass_pre_probe an attempt is made to detect whether the parent
of a device is a PCI device and that the device is thus a bridge. This
was being done by checking whether the parent of the device is of the
UCLASS_ROOT class. This causes problems if the PCI controller is a child
of some other non-PCI node, for example a simple-bus node.
For example, if the device tree contains something like the following
then pci_uclass_pre_probe would incorrectly believe that the PCI
controller is a bridge, with a PCI parent:
/ {
some_child {
compatible = "simple-bus";
#address-cells = <1>;
#size-cells = <1>;
ranges = <>;
pci_controller: pci@10000000 {
compatible = "my-pci-controller";
device_type = "pci";
reg = <0x10000000 0x2000000>;
};
};
};
Avoid this incorrect detection of bridges by instead checking whether
the parent devices class is UCLASS_PCI and treating a device as a bridge
when this is true, making use of device_is_on_pci_bus to perform this
test.

Tegra20's PCIe controller has a couple of quirks. There are workarounds in
the driver for these, but they don't work after the DM conversion:
1) The PCI_CLASS value is wrong in HW.
This is worked around in pci_tegra_read_config() by patching up the value
read from that register. Pre-DM, the PCIe core always read this via a
16-bit access to the 16-bit offset 0xa. With DM, 32-bit accesses are used,
so we need to check for offset 0x8 instead. Mask the offset value back to
32-bit alignment to make this work in all cases.
2) Accessing devices other than dev 1 causes a data abort.
Pre-DM, this was worked around in pci_skip_dev(), which the PCIe core code
called during enumeration while iterating over a bus. The DM PCIe core
doesn't use this function. Instead, enhance tegra_pcie_conf_address() to
validate the bdf being accessed, and refuse to access invalid devices.
Since pci_skip_dev() isn't used, delete it.
I've also validated that both these WARs are only needed for Tegra20, by
testing on Tegra30/Cardhu and Tegra124/Jetson TKx. So, compile them in
conditionally.

With CONFIG_DM_PCI enabled, PCI buses are not enumerated at boot, as they
are without that config option enabled. No command exists to enumerate the
PCI buses. Hence, unless some board-specific code causes PCI enumeration,
PCI-based Ethernet devices are not detected, and network access is not
available.
This patch implements "pci enum" in the CONFIG_DM_PCI case, thus giving a
mechanism whereby PCI can be enumerated.
do_pci()'s handling of case 'e' is moved into a single location before the
dev variable is assigned, in order to skip calculation of dev. The enum
sub-command doesn't need the dev value, and skipping its calculation
avoids an irrelevant error being printed.
Using a command to initialize PCI like this has a disadvantage relative to
enumerating PCI at boot. In particular, Ethernet devices are not probed
during PCI enumeration, but only when used. This defers setting variables
such as ethact, ethaddr, etc. until the first network-related command is
executed. Hopefully this will not cause further issues. Perhaps in the
long term, we need a "net start/enum" command too?

Commit aec241d "dm: pci: Use the correct hose when configuring devices"
was an attempt to fix pci bridge device configuration, but unfortunately
that does not work 100%. In pciauto_config_devices(), the fix tried to
call pciauto_config_device() with a ctlr_hose which is supposed to be
the root controller hose, however when walking through a pci topology
with 2 or more pci bridges this logic simply fails.
The call chain is: pciauto_config_devices()->pciauto_config_device()
->dm_pci_hose_probe_bus(). Here the call to dm_pci_hose_probe_bus()
does not make any sense as the given hose is not the bridge device's
hose, instead it is either the root controller's hose (case#1: if it
is the 2nd pci bridge), or the bridge's parent bridge's hose (case#2:
if it is the 3rd pci bridge). In both cases the logic is wrong.
For example, for failing case#1 if the bridge device to config has the
same devfn as one of the devices under the root controller, the call
to pci_bus_find_devfn() will return the udevice of that pci device
under the root controller as the bus, but this is wrong as the udevice
is not a bus which does not contain all the necessary bits associated
with the udevice which causes further failures.
To correctly support pci bridge device configuration, we should still
call pciauto_config_device() with the pci bridge's hose directly.
In order to access valid pci region information, we need to refer to
the root controller simply by a call to pci_bus_to_hose(0) and get the
region information there in the pciauto_prescan_setup_bridge(),
pciauto_postscan_setup_bridge() and pciauto_config_device().
Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
In dm_pci_hose_probe_bus(), pci_bus_find_devfn() is called with a bdf
which includes a bus number, but it really should not as this routine
only expects a device/function encoding.
Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
Currently pci_bus_read_config() and pci_bus_write_config() are
called with bus number masked off in the parameter bdf, and bus
number is supposed to be added back in the bridge driver's pci
config read/write ops if the device is behind a pci bridge.
However this logic only works for a pci topology where there is
only one bridge off the root controller. If there is addtional
bridge in the system, the logic will create a non-existent bdf
where its bus number gets accumulated across bridges.
To correct this, we change all pci config read/write routines
to use complete bdf all the way up to the root controller.
Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
In driver model, each pci bridge device has its own hose structure.
hose->first_busno points to the bridge device's device number, so
we should not substract hose->first_busno before programming the
bridge device's primary/secondary/subordinate bus number registers.

At present all PCI devices must be present in the device tree in order to
be used. Many or most PCI devices don't require any configuration other than
that which is done automatically by U-Boot. It is inefficent to add a node
with nothing but a compatible string in order to get a device working.
Add a mechanism whereby PCI drivers can be declared along with the device
parameters they support (vendor/device/class). When no suitable driver is
found in the device tree the list of such devices is consulted to determine
the correct driver. If this also fails, then a generic driver is used as
before.
The mechanism used is very similar to that provided by Linux and the header
file defintions are copied from Linux 4.1.

Some platforms don't have native code for dealing with their video
hardware. In some cases they use a binary blob to set it up and perform
required actions like setting the video mode. This approach is a hangover
from the old PC days where a ROM was provided and executed during startup.
Even now, these ROMs are supplied as a way to set up video. It avoids the
code for every video chip needing to be provided in the boot loader. But
it makes the video much less flexible - e.g. it is not possible to do
anything else while the video init is happening (including waiting hundreds
of milliseconds for display panels to start up).
In any case, to deal with this sad state of affairs, provide an API for
execution of x86 video ROMs, either natively or through emulation.

U-Boot has never cared about the type when we get max/min of two
values, but Linux Kernel does. This commit gets min, max, min3, max3
macros synced with the kernel introducing type checks.
Many of references of those macros must be fixed to suppress warnings.
We have two options:
- Use min, max, min3, max3 only when the arguments have the same type
(or add casts to the arguments)
- Use min_t/max_t instead with the appropriate type for the first
argument

This patch adds support for running on Malta boards using coreFPGA6
core cards, including support for the msc01 system controller used
with them. The system controller is detected at runtime allowing one
U-boot binary to run on a Malta with either.
Due to the PCI I/O base differing between Maltas using gt64120 & msc01
system controllers, the UART setup is modified slightly. A second UART
is added so that there is one pointing at the correct address for each
system controller. The Malta board then defines its own
default_serial_console function to select the correct one at runtime.
The incorrect UART will simply not function.
Tested on:
- A coreFPGA6 Malta running interAptiv and proAptiv bitstreams, both
with and without an L2 cache.
- QEMU.

Now a function to get the address of a requested capability is added and used.
It can get the address dynamically by capability ID.
The step of this function:
1. Read Status register in PCIe configuration space to confirm that

For the powerpc processors with PCIE interface, boot location can be
configured from one PCIE interface by RCW. The processor booting from PCIE
can do without flash for u-boot image. The image can be fetched from another
processor's memory space by PCIE link connected between them.
The processor booting from PCIE is slave, the processor booting from normal
flash memory space is master, and it can help slave to boot from master's
memory space.
When boot from PCIE, slave's core should be in holdoff after powered on for
some specific requirements. Master will release the slave's core at the
right time by PCIE interface.
Environment and requirement:
master:
1. NOR flash for its own u-boot image, ucode and ENV space.
2. Slave's u-boot image is in master NOR flash.
3. Normally boot from local NOR flash.
4. Configure PCIE system if needed.
slave:
1. Just has EEPROM for RCW. No flash for u-boot image, ucode and ENV.
2. Boot location should be set to one PCIE interface by RCW.
3. RCW should configure the SerDes, PCIE interfaces correctly.
4. Must set all the cores in holdoff by RCW.
5. Must be powered on before master's boot.
For the master module, need to finish these processes:
1. Initialize the PCIE port and address space.
2. Set inbound PCIE windows covered slave's u-boot image stored in
master's NOR flash.
3. Set outbound windows in order to configure slave's registers
for the core's releasing.
4. Should set the environment variable "bootmaster" to "PCIE1", "PCIE2"

PCI cards might need some time after reset to respond. On some
boards (mpc5200 or mpc8260 based) the PCI bus reset is deasserted
at pci_init_board() time, so we currently can not use available
"pcidelay" option for waiting before PCI bus scan since this
waiting takes place before calling pci_init_board(). By moving
the pcidelay code to the new location using of the "pcidelay"
option is possible on mpc5200 or mpc8260 based boards, too.
Since pci_hose_scan() could be called multiple times, restrict
the function to wait only during its first call and to ignore
pcidelay for any further call (as pointed out by Matthias).

- Makes it optional for boards to implement board_serdes_name().
Previously boards that did not implement it would print unsightly

Since all the PCIe controllers are connected over SERDES on the SoCs we
can utilize is_serdes_configured() to determine if a controller is
enabled. After which we can setup the ATMUs and LAWs for the controller
in a common fashion and allow board code to specify what the controller
is connected to for reporting reasons.
We also provide a per controller (rather than all) for some systems that
may have special requirements.
Finally, we refactor the code used by the P1022DS to utilize the new
generic code.

Previously we passed in a specifically named struct pci_controller to
determine if we had setup the particular PCI bus. Now we can search for
the struct so we dont have to depend on the name or the struct being
statically allocated.
Introduced new find_hose_by_cfg_addr() to get back a pci_controller struct
back by searching for it means we can do things like dynamically allocate
them or not have to expose the static structures to all users.

Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols
found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of
binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not
extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols".
This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead
of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in
linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended.
This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function
cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is
inspired.
The name of each former library archive is preserved except for
extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates
references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker
scripts.
This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but
include source files that depend these disabled features in the build,
resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include:
- disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS;
- enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE.

When CONFIG_PCI_SCAN_SHOW is defined U-Boot prints out PCI devices as
they are found during bootup, eg:

This information is useful, but its difficult to determine the PCI bus
topology. To things clearer, we can use indention to make it more
obvious how the PCI bus is organized. For the example above, the
updated output with this change is:
PCIE1: connected as Root Complex

In the examples above, an MPC8640 is connected to a PEX8518 PCIe switch
(01:00 and 02:0x), which is connected to another PEX8518 PCIe switch
(06:00 and 07:0x), which then connects to a MPC8572 processor (08:00).
Also, the MPC8640's PEX8518 PCIe switch is connected to a PCI ethernet
card (04:01) via a PEX8112 PCIe-to-PCI bridge (03:00).

This change does the following:
- Removes the printing of the PCI interrupt line value. This is
normally set to 0 by U-Boot on bootup and is rarely used during
everyday operation.
- Prints out the PCI function number of a device. Previously a device
with multiple functions would be printed identically 2 times, which is
generally confusing. For example, on an Intel 2 port gigabit Ethernet
card the following was displayed:
...
04 01 8086 1010 0200 00
04 01 8086 1010 0200 00
...
- Prints a text description of each device's PCI class instead of the
raw PCI class code. The textual description makes it much easier to
determine what devices are installed on a PCI bus.
- Changes the general formatting of the PCI device output.
Previous output:

Previously fsl_pci_init_port() always assumed that a port was a PCIe
port and would incorrectly print messages for a PCI port such as the
following on bootup:
PCI1: 32 bit, 33 MHz, sync, host, arbiter
Scanning PCI bus 00
PCIE1 on bus 00 - 00
This change corrects the output of fsl_pci_init_port():
PCI1: 32 bit, 33 MHz, sync, host, arbiter
Scanning PCI bus 00
PCI1 on bus 00 - 00

Add a new 'pci enum' command which re-enumerates the PCI buses. This
command is enabled via the CONFIG_CMD_PCI_ENUM define and can be useful
in boards with FPGAs connected via PCI/PCIe, boards that support PCI
hot-plugging, or during PCI debug.
Also enable the 'pci enum' command for X-ES's Freescale-based boards.

Previously we used an alias the pci node to determine which node to
fixup or delete. Now we use the new fdt_node_offset_by_compat_reg to
find the node to update.
Additionally, we replace the code in each board with a single macro call
that makes assumes uniform naming and reduces duplication in this area.

As discussed on the list, move "arch/ppc" to "arch/powerpc" to
better match the Linux directory structure.
Please note that this patch also changes the "ppc" target in
MAKEALL to "powerpc" to match this new infrastructure. But "ppc"
is kept as an alias for now, to not break compatibility with
scripts using this name.

If the PCI controller wasn't configured or enabled delete from the
device tree (include its alias).
For the case that we didn't even configure u-boot with knowledge of
the controller we can use the fact that the pci_controller pointer
is NULL to delete the node in the device tree. We determine that
a controller was not setup (because of HW config) based on the fact
that cfg_addr wasn't setup.

The list of 4xx SoCs that should send type 1 PCI transactions
is not defined correctly. As a result PCI-PCI bridges and devices
behind them are not identified. The following 4xx variants should
send type 1 transactions: 440GX, 440GP, 440SP, 440SPE, 460EX and 460GT.
