Move this header out of the common header. Network support is used in

Note that this net.h header itself has quite a lot in it. It could be

3fd0231432 mips: Add support for SoM "VoCore2".
Small patch to add support for VoCore/VoCore2 board.

VoCore is open hardware and runs OpenWrt/LEDE.
It has WIFI, USB, UART, 20+ GPIOs but is only one inch square.
It will help you to make a smart house, study embedded system

04d21a93fa mips: mt76x8: ddr_cal: Correct dqs_find_min/max implementations
The current implementations have some issues detecting the correct
values:

dqs_find_max() will return "last passing fieldval + 1" instead of
"last passing fieldval". Also it will return "maxval + 1" in the
case that all fieldvals are tested valid (without error).

dqs_find_min() will not test the "lowest" value because of using ">"
instead of ">=".

This patch now rewrites these functions to fix those issues. Also,
this patch uses the same approach of a for loop in both functions making
it easier to read and maintain.

Since the variables are integers now, we can use min()/max(), which
handles the wrap around case for fieldval=0: return (0 - 1).

896449fa29 mips: mt76x8: ddr_cal: Rename dqs_test_valid() to dqs_test_error()

7a4b6964b5 mips: mtmips: add SPL support
This patch adds SPL support for mtmips platform. The lowlevel architecture
is split into SPL and the rest parts are built into a memory loadable
u-boot image. Optional SPL_DM and OF_CONTROL are also supported.

The increment of size is very small (< 10 KiB) if SPL_DM and OF_CONTROL are
not enabled and the memory bootable u-boot (u-boot.img) is generated
automatically so there is not need to add a separate config for it.

A lzma compressed payload (u-boot-lzma.img) is also generated and it will
be combined with u-boot-spl.bin to form the unified ROM bootable binary
u-boot-mtmips.bin.

A spl loader is added to support uncompress the payload.

a60c1e6d6b mips: add a mtmips-specific field to architecture-specific global data
SoCs of mtmips can use different CPU frequencies depending on the HW/SW
configurations. For example mt7628 uses 580MHz clock if the input xtal
frequency is 40MHz, and 575MHz clock if the xtal is 25MHz. Upon cold boot
the CPU uses the xtal frequency directly.

So hardcoding the timer frequency (half of the CPU frequency) in
CONFIG_SYS_MIPS_TIMER_FREQ is not a good idea for this case.

This patch adds a mtmips-specific field timer_freq to arch_global_data.
This field will be used later in mtmips-specific get_tbclk() to provide
accurate timer frequency in different boot stage.

6e9281b559 mips: start.S: avoid overwriting outside gd when clearing global data in stack
When setting up initial stack, global data will also be put in the stack,
and being cleared.

The assembler instructions for clearing gd is as follows:

	move	t0, k0
1:
	PTR_S	zero, 0(t0)
	blt	t0, t1, 1b
	 PTR_ADDIU t0, PTRSIZE

t0 is the start address of gd, t1 is the end address of gd (t0 + GD_SIZE).

[PTR_ADDIU t0, PTRSIZE] is in the delay slot of [blt t0, t1, 1b], so it
will be executed before the branch operation.

However the comparison for the BLT instruction is done before executing the
delay slot. This means when the last word just before k1 is cleared, the
loop will continue to run once. This will clear an extra word at k1, which
is outside the global data.

Global data is placed at the top of the stack. If the initial stack is a
SRAM or locked cache, the area outside them may be inaccessible. A write
operation performed in this area may cause an exception.

To solve this, [PTR_ADDIU t0, PTRSIZE] should be placed before the BLT
instruction.

U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.

Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

9814fb272f mips: mt76xx: Implement new d-cache fix in last_stage_init()
With commit 06985289d4 ("watchdog: Implement generic watchdog_reset()
version") the init sequence has changed in arch_misc_init(), resulting
in a re-appearance of the d-cache issue on MT7688 boards (e.g. gardena).
When this happens, the first (or sometimes later ones as well) TFTP
command hangs and does not complete correctly. This leads to the
assumption that the d-cache is not in a clean state once the ethernet
driver is called (d-cache is used here for the buffers). The old work-
around with the cache flush somehow does not work any more now with
the new code change.

Unfortunately adding CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_CLEAR_ON_INIT also did not fix
this issue. With v2019.07-rc3 it shows again. The time of accessing
the data seems to be very important here. It needs to be "very late"
in the boot process.

Testing has shown, that copying a 64KiB area in DDR at a very late
bootup time, directly before calling into the prompt, fixes this issue.
Flushing of the complete d-cache does not seem to necessary, as this
copy alone seems to fix this problem.

To fix this issue, this patch now removes the old workaround and selects
CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_CLEAR_ON_INIT for ARCH_MTMIPS. With this option the
complete malloc area is initialized with zeros (cache lines are touched).
Testing has shown that this also fixes the issue on the MT7688 boards.

Microsemi SoC defines CONFIG_SYS_SDRAM_BASE to be 0x80000000, which
represents the start of kseg0 and represents a virtual address. Meaning
that the initrd_start and initrd_end point somewhere kseg0.
When these parameters are passed to linux kernel through DT
they are pointing somewhere in kseg0 which is a virtual address but linux
kernel expects the addresses to be physical addresses(in kuseg) because
it is converting the physical address to a virtual one.

Therefore update the uboot to pass the physical address of initrd_start
and initrd_end by converting them using the function virt_to_phys before
setting up the DT.

06985289d4 watchdog: Implement generic watchdog_reset() version
This patch tries to implement a generic watchdog_reset() function that
can be used by all boards that want to service the watchdog device in
U-Boot. This watchdog servicing is enabled via CONFIG_WATCHDOG.

Without this approach, new boards or platforms needed to implement a
board specific version of this functionality, mostly copy'ing the same
code over and over again into their board or platforms code base.

With this new generic function, the scattered other functions are now
removed to be replaced by the generic one. The new version also enables
the configuration of the watchdog timeout via the DT "timeout-sec"
property (if enabled via CONFIG_OF_CONTROL).

This patch also adds a new flag to the GD flags, to flag that the
watchdog is ready to use and adds the pointer to the watchdog device
to the GD. This enables us to remove the global "watchdog_dev"
variable, which was prone to cause problems because of its potentially
very early use in watchdog_reset(), even before the BSS is cleared.

e515166636 bootm: mips: Remove boot_reloc_ramdisk
Remove the function boot_reloc_ramdisk in the file arch/mips/lib/bootm
because it is relocating again the ramdisk. The function do_bootm_states()
already relocates the ramdisk even if it is a legacy uImage or a FIT image.

The relocation in the function do_bootm_states() was introduce in the
commit c2e7e72bb9 ("bootm: relocate ramdisk

ffd4c7c2ec dts: switch spi-flash to jedec, spi-nor compatible
There is no reason not to use the Linux "jedec,spi-nor" binding in U-Boot
dts files. This compatible has been added in sf_probe, let use it.

This patch switches to jedec,spi-nor when spi-flash is used in the DTS
and DTSI files, and removed spi-flash when jedec,spi-nor is already
present.

The x86 dts are switched in a separate commit since it depends on a change

ccd063e981 watchdog: Move watchdog_dev to data section (BSS may not be cleared)
This patch moves all instances of static "watchdog_dev" declarations to
the "data" section. This may be needed, as the BSS may not be cleared
in the early U-Boot phase, where watchdog_reset() is already beeing
called. This may result in incorrect pointer access, as the check to
"!watchdog_dev" in watchdog_reset() may not be true and the function
may continue to run.

9630146411 MIPS: make size of relocation table fixed but configurable
Currently the size of the relocation table will be shrunk
to the actual size needed. Although this gives a maximal
space saving, it messes up the _end symbol. This breaks
features like appended DTBs because the _end symbol doesn't
point to the real end of the U-Boot binary.

Remove the size shrinking and make the size of the relocation
table fixed but configurable. This follows the Linux approach
and the user can adjust the size to his needs.

Also rename the relocation table section from .rel to .data.reloc
to follow the Linux approach and to avoid ambiguities with the
.rel.* sections added by the linker.

83d290c56f SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel style
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.

In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.

This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

4280342adb fdt: Implement weak arch_fixup_fdt()
Only ARM and in some configs MIPS really implement arch_fixup_fdt().
Others just use the same boilerplate which is not good by itself,
but what's worse if we try to build with disabled CONFIG_CMD_BOOTM
and enabled CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT we'll hit an unknown symbol which was
apparently implemented in arch/xxx/lib/bootm.c.

Now with weak arch_fixup_fdt() right in image-fdt.c where it is
used we get both items highlighted above fixed.

If we run on a CPU which doesn't implement a particular cache then we
would previously get stuck in an infinite loop, executing a cache op on

this by generalising the check for a zero line size & avoiding the cache

d8b326976a MIPS: Clear instruction hazards in flush_cache()
When writing code, for example during relocation, we ensure that the
icache has a coherent view of the new instructions with a call to
flush_cache(). This handles the bulk of the work to ensure the new
instructions will execute as expected, however it does not ensure that
the CPU pipeline doesn't already contain instructions taken from a stale
view of the affected memory. This could theoretically be a problem for
relocation, but in practice typically isn't because we sync caches for
enough code after the entry point of the newly written code that by the
time the CPU pipeline might possibly fetch any of it we'll have long ago
written it back & invalidated any stale icache entries. This is however
a problem for shorter regions of code.

In preparation for later patches which write shorter segments of code,
ensure any instruction hazards are cleared by flush_cache() by
introducing & using a new instruction_hazard_barrier() function which
makes use of the jr.hb instruction to clear the hazard.

219c2db384 MIPS: Ensure cache ops complete in cache maintenance functions
A typical use of cache maintenance functions is to force writeback of
data which a device is about to read using DMA - for example a
descriptor or command structure. Such users of cache maintenance
functions require that operations on the cache have completed before
they proceed to instruct a device to read memory. This requires that we
place a completion barrier (ie. sync instruction) between the cache ops
and whatever write informs the device to perform DMA.

Whilst strictly speaking this isn't all users of the cache maintenance
functions & we could instead place the barriers in the drivers that
require them, it would be much more invasive to do so than to just have
the barrier be the default by placing it in the cache functions
themselves. The cost is low enough that it shouldn't matter to us in any
rare cases that we use the cache functions when not performing DMA.

This converts the following to Kconfig:
   CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

   CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
   CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

   ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

703ec9ddf9 MIPS: Stop building position independent code
U-Boot has up until now built with -fpic for the MIPS architecture,
producing position independent code which uses indirection through a
global offset table, making relocation fairly straightforward as it
simply involves patching up GOT entries.

Using -fpic does however have some downsides. The biggest of these is
that generated code is bloated in various ways. For example, function
calls are indirected through the GOT & the t9 register:

  8f998064 lw t9,-32668(gp)
  0320f809 jalr t9

Without -fpic the call is simply:

  0f803f01 jal be00fc04 <puts>

This is more compact & faster (due to the lack of the load & the
dependency the jump has on its result). It is also easier to read &
debug because the disassembly shows what function is being called,
rather than just an offset from gp which would then have to be looked up
in the ELF to discover the target function.

Another disadvantage of -fpic is that each function begins with a
sequence to calculate the value of the gp register, for example:

  3c1c0004 lui gp,0x4
  279c3384 addiu gp,gp,13188
  0399e021 addu gp,gp,t9

Without using -fpic this sequence no longer appears at the start of each
function, reducing code size considerably.

This patch switches U-Boot from building with -fpic to building with
-fno-pic, in order to gain the benefits described above. The cost of
this is an extra step during the build process to extract relocation
data from the ELF & write it into a new .rel section in a compact
format, plus the added complexity of dealing with multiple types of
relocation rather than the single type that applied to the GOT. The
benefit is smaller, cleaner, more debuggable code. The relocate_code()
function is reimplemented in C to handle the new relocation scheme,
which also makes it easier to read & debug.

Taking maltael_defconfig as an example the size of u-boot.bin built
using the Codescape MIPS 2016.05-06 toolchain (gcc 4.9.2, binutils
2.24.90) shrinks from 254KiB to 224KiB.
