This old patch was marked as deferred. Bring it back to life, to continue
towards the removal of common.h

fea7a29cc8 power: regulator: rk8xx: Add 500us delay after LDO regulator is enabled
A quick power cycle of a LDO regulator during dw-mmc signal voltage
change has shown that SD-card does not always get recognized.

Linux driver use an enable_time of 400us for LDO regulators. Apply a
500us delay when a LDO regulator is enabled to fix possible issues.

f7b8a84a29 regulator: fixed: Add support for gpios prop
The commit 12df2c182ccb ("regulator: dt-bindings: fixed-regulator: allow
gpios property") in linux v6.3-rc1 added support for use of either a
gpios or gpio prop with a fixed-regulator.

This adds support for the new gpios prop to the fixed-regulator driver.
gpios prop is used by vcc3v3-pcie-regulator on Radxa ROCK 3 Model A.

4fcba5d556 regulator: implement basic reference counter
Some devices share a regulator supply, when the first one will request
regulator disable, the second device will have it's supply cut off before
graciously shutting down. Hence there will be timeouts and other failed
operations.
Implement a reference counter mechanism similar with what is done in
Linux, to keep track of enable and disable requests, and only disable the
regulator when the last of the consumers has requested shutdown.

ee6a678263 power: regulator: Add a driver for the AXP USB power supply
This driver reports the presence/absence of voltage on the PMIC's USB
VBUS pin. This information is used by the USB PHY driver. The
corresponding Linux driver uses the power supply class, which does not
exist in U-Boot. UCLASS_REGULATOR seems to be the closest match.

27a93dd4a9 power: regulator: Add a driver for AXP PMIC regulators
This driver handles most voltage regulators found in X-Powers AXP PMICs.
It is based on, and intended to replace, the regulator driver in TF-A.

AXP PMIC regulators can be divided into 6 categories:
 - Switches without voltage control => fully supported.
 - Single linear range => fully supported.
 - Two linear ranges, "step" and "2 * step" => fully supported.
 - Two linear ranges, "step" and "5 * step" => only the first range is
   supported. No boards are known to use the second range.
 - Non-linear voltage values => fully supported.
 - LDOs shared with GPIO pins => not supported.

8edf7ac09f power: regulator: fix autoset error handling
If a regulator does not support .set_suspend_enable or
.set_suspend_value then ret is set to ENOSYS early in the function.

The most serious impact of this is that when no automatic setting of
voltage is needed then the final regulator_set_enable() is skipped
because ret has not been cleared.

It seems that the error handling for regulator_set_suspend_value() is
also wrong as if this succeeds then the normal boot-on checks are still
required, and again ENOSYS needs special treatment here.

67b5663d77 pmic: pca9450: permit config on all bucks and LDOs
In order to have the possibility to configure the regulators at system
startup through DM support, all LDOs and bucks must be able to be
changeable. Currently there is a limitation to change the values when
the output is enabled. Since the driver is based on the ROHM BD71837 and a
comment that describes a limitation about switching while the output is
enabled can also be found there, the limitation probably comes from this type.

Tighten up symbol dependencies in a number of places.  Ensure that a SPL
specific option has at least a direct dependency on SPL.  In places
where it's clear that we depend on something more specific, use that
dependency instead.  This means in a very small number of places we can
drop redundant dependencies.

8bcb1b4898 firmware: scmi: prepare scmi uclass API to multi-channel
Changes SCMI driver API function devm_scmi_process_msg() to add
an SCMI channel reference argument for when SCMI agent supports
SCMI protocol specific channels. First argument of devm_scmi_process_msg()
is also change to point to the caller SCMI protocol device rather
than its parent device (the SCMI agent device).

The argument is a pointer to opaque struct scmi_channel known from
the SCMI transport drivers. It is currently unused and caller a pass
NULL value. A later change will enable such support once SCMI protocol
drivers have means to get the channel reference during initialization.

6983710a31 scmi: change parameter dev in devm_scmi_process_msg
Changes devm_scmi_process_msg() first argument from target parent device
to current SCMI device and lookup the SCMI agent device among SCMI device
parents for find the SCMI agent operator needed for communication with
the firmware.

This change is needed in order to support CCF in clk_scmi driver unless
what CCF will fail to find the right udevice related to exposed SCMI
clocks.

This patch allows to simplify the caller sequence, using SCMI device
reference as parameter instead of knowing SCMI uclass topology. This
change also adds some protection in case devm_scmi_process_msg() API
function is called for an invalid device type.

1b7f00eb1f regulator: bd718x7: Bypass bogus warnings
When regulator consumer attempts to set enabled DVS regulator voltage,
the driver aborts with "Only DVS bucks can be changed when enabled".
In case the regulator is already set to specified voltage, do nothing
instead of failing outright.

When regulator consumer attempts to set enables regulator which cannot
be controlled because it is already always enabled, the driver aborts
with -EINVAL. Again, do nothing in such case and return 0, because the
request is really fulfilled, the regulator is enabled.

29d7153ec3 power: Rename CONFIG_POWER to CONFIG_POWER_LEGACY
This option is used in pre-driver model code and much of it has never
been converted to driver model.

We want to add a new option to enable power support, so we can use a
simple rule in the Makefile. Rename this one, which is really about
a particular implementation of power.

Also update the pmic.h header file so it either includes the legacy
API or the driver model one.

1f213ee4db firmware: scmi: voltage regulator

401d1c4f5d common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common header
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed.  In
a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding
another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header
files that had been pulled in, very indirectly.   Finally, we have a few
cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so
remove that include.

2d572ede11 power: regulator: Kconfig: add a dependency for POWER_SUPPORT for SPL
power/regulator will not be built if just CONFIG_SPL_DM_REGULATOR is
enabled. It needs CONFIG_SPL_POWER_SUPPORT to be enabled as well.

For example, if we just need a GPIO regulator in SPL:
CONFIG_DM_REGULATOR=y
CONFIG_SPL_DM_REGULATOR=y
CONFIG_DM_REGULATOR_GPIO=y
CONFIG_SPL_DM_REGULATOR_GPIO=y

Will not suffice, since the entire regulator build for SPL depends on
CONFIG_SPL_POWER_SUPPORT. Elaborate that information in the Kconfig
dependency.

41575d8e4c dm: treewide: Rename auto_alloc_size members to be shorter
This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense
since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now
used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces
verbosity and makes it easier to read.

Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line,
thus making dtoc's job easier.

2d69b08618 power: regulator: gpio-regulator: protect count value
Update the size of states_array to avoid overflow for
dev_pdata->voltages[j] and dev_pdata->states[j].

As the size of array is GPIO_REGULATOR_MAX_STATES, the size of
states_array is limited by GPIO_REGULATOR_MAX_STATES * 2 = 4
instead of 8 previously.

The value of the "count" variable is limited by the third parameter of
fdtdec_get_int_array_count.

e3e2470fdd drivers: rename drivers to match compatible string
When using OF_PLATDATA, the bind process between devices and drivers
is performed trying to match compatible string with driver names.
However driver names are not strictly defined, and also there are different
names used when declaring a driver with U_BOOT_DRIVER, the name of the
symbol used in the linker list and the used in the struct driver_info.

In order to make things a bit more clear, rename the drivers names. This
will also help for further OF_PLATDATA improvements, such as checking
for valid driver names.

8b8c99bd3e power: regulator: stm32: vrefbuf: fix a possible overshoot when re-enabling
There maybe an overshoot:
- when disabling, then re-enabling vrefbuf too quickly
- or upon platform reset as external capacitor maybe slow
  discharging (VREFBUF is HiZ at reset by default).
VREFBUF is used by ADC/DAC on some boards. An overshoot on the reference
voltage make the conversions inaccurate for a short period of time. So:
- Don't put the VREFBUF in HiZ when disabling, to force an active
  discharge.
- Enforce a 1ms OFF/ON delay, also upon reset

Penalty is a 1ms delay is applied (even for a cold boot), when enabling
VREFBUF.
