Select PHYLIB in drivers/net/Kconfig. And remove CONFIG_PHYLIB
from legacy board header files.
This fixed the warnings when both ALTERA_TSE and ETH_DESIGNWARE
are selected.

Some sunxi-based boards (such as the Olimex A20-SOM-EVB) have a
second MMC socket. This socket is not bootable hardware-wise,
i.e. u-boot itself cannot be loaded from it, but once u-boot has
started, the second socket can be used in the boot process
provided by config_distro_bootcmd.h.
If a second MMC socket is present, place it in the boot order
after the first MMC socket.

The DFU protocol implementation in U-Boot is much faster than the
FEL protocol implementation in the boot ROM on Allwinner devices.
Using DFU instead of FEL improves the USB transfer speed from
500-900 KB/s to 3.2-3.7 MB/s. This is particularly useful for
reducing the time needed for booting systems with large initrd
images.
FEL is still useful for loading the U-Boot bootloader and a boot
script, which may then activate DFU in the following way:
setenv dfu_alt_info ${dfu_alt_info_ram}
dfu 0 ram 0
bootm ${kernel_addr_r} ${ramdisk_addr_r} ${fdt_addr_r}
The rest of the files can be transferred to the device using the
"dfu-util" tool.

We have finished Generic Board conversion for ARM and PowerPC, i.e.
all the boards have been converted except OpenRISC, SuperH, SPARC,
which have not supported Generic Board framework yet.
Select SYS_GENERIC_BOARD in arch/Kconfig and delete all the macro
defines in include/configs/*.h.

When using the fastboot boot command, the image sent to U-Boot will be an

Add a bootcmd_sunxi_compat value to the default environment when building
with CONFIG_OLD_SUNXI_KERNEL_COMPAT, this way people who occasionally want
to boot an old kernel can do so by simply typing "run bootcmd_sunxi_compat"
rather then needing to have 2 separate setups / sdcards for old and
new kernels.

common/dlmalloc.c is quite big, both in .text and .data usage. E.g. for a
Mele_M9 sun6i board build this reduces .text from 0x4214 to 0x3b94 bytes,
and .data from 0x54c to 0x144 bytes.

Select CONFIG_SPL_STACK_R for sunxi boards, this gives us much more
room on the stack once we've the DRAM running.
Besides being a good change to have on itself, this also paves the
way for switching to using malloc_simple in the SPL which cuts of
close to 4KiB of the SPL size.

This patch makes use of the previous changes to add a new "fel" boot
target for sunxi boards.
When booting via FEL, it's often desirable to work around the absence
of other (usable) boot devices - or to be able to override them,
deviating from the standard boot sequence. To achieve this, the "fel"
boot target gets the highest priority, but won't actually do anything
unless certain criteria are met.
The "bootcmd_fel" implementation proposed here first tests if an actual
FEL boot takes place (using the "fel_booted" env var), and secondly
checks that "fel_scriptaddr" was set (originating from the 'loader',
i.e. the sunxi-tools fel utility). If both checks pass, then it will
try to execute the boot script (boot.scr) at the given address. In case
of an error (e.g. an invalid image), the source command might return
"false", causing "distro_bootcmd" to proceed with the next boot target.

For the upcoming nand support we need a bigger heap, esp. ubi[fs] uses
quite a bit of memory, increase the heap size to 64 MB.
Our video code returns unused reserved framebuffer memory to the kernel
before booting it. Drop the #ifdef-ery and simply always reserve 16 MB.
Adjust bootm_size for the above changes.

Make CONFIG_SYS_NAND_U_BOOT_OFFS configurable through Kconfig, just like
SYS_NAND_BUSWIDTH_16BIT this is only enabled on some SoCs using depends,
to avoid double defining it for SoCs which have not yet moved to Kconfig
for this.
Having this in Kconfig is useful because this is something which may
differ from one board to the other even when using the same SoC.

We eventually want to add full nand support, since it makes no sense
to build SPL with nand support and u-boot without, or the other way
around, a single option will suffice.
Renaming the Kconfig option now makes things easier when we add full
nand support in the future.
The "obj-$(CONFIG_NAND_SUNXI) += sunxi_nand_spl.o" is moved to an
"ifdef CONFIG_SPL_BUILD" block in the Makefile.

Add option to set shell prompt string from menuconfig and migrate
boards globally.
The migration is done as follows:
- Boards that explicitly and unconditionally set CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT had the
entry moved to their defconfig files.
- Boards that defined some kind of #ifdef logic which selects the
CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT (for example qemu-mips) got an #undef CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT
right before the #ifdef logic and were left alone.
- This change forces CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT to be a per board decision, and thus
CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT was removed from all <soc>_common.h and <arch>_common.h
files. This results in a streamlined default value across platforms, and
includes the following files: spear-common, sunxi-common, mv-common,
ti_armv7_common, tegra-common, at91-sama5_common, and zynq-common.
- Boards that relied on <arch/soc>_common.h values of CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT were
not updated in their respective defconfig files under the assumption that
since they did not explicitly define a value, they're fine with whatever
the default is.
- On the other hand, boards that relied on a value defined in some
<boards>_common.h file such as woodburn_common, rpi-common,
bur_am335x_common, ls2085a_common, siemens_am33x_common, and
omap3_evm_common, had their values moved to the respective defconfig files.
- The define V_PROMPT was removed, since it is not used anywhere except for
assigning a value for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT.

Do not add a bogus (pointing to a non existing serial port) stdout-path
alias to dts on boards without a serial port.
Note that we still define CONS_INDEX as this is used by the SPL where we do
not use DM_SERIAL and thus CONFIG_REQUIRE_SERIAL_CONSOLE is not honored.
We are getting away with this because the sun5i die actually has
an uart0, which in the A13 package is not routed to the outside,
so we are simply sending SPL bootup messages to the tx pin at the
edge of the die, and they go no further from there...
And sofar we only have one A13 board which does not have a serial
port, all others do have a serial port. This kinda makes sense since
the A13 is a much lower pincount package compared to all the other
sunxi SoCs.

USB-related options are usually prefixed with CONFIG_USB and platform-specific
adaptation for the MUSB controller already have a CONFIG_USB_MUSB prefix, so

Due to absence of CONFIG_SYS_64BIT_LBA, u-boot-sunxi currently has
no support for the (GPT) partioning scheme of large disks > 2TB.
While the AHCI driver seems to handle this nicely, the problem is
that lbaint_t values get truncated to 32-bit.
This patch sets CONFIG_SYS_64BIT_LBA from sunxi_common.h for all
SoCs that support AHCI (CONFIG_SUNXI_AHCI).

The A1 SRAM Base differs between sun9i and the others, update sunxi-common.h
to deal with this, so that we do not set the initial stack pointer to point
to the BROM.
This avoids the need for the weird undocumented register write I previously
took from the allwiner u-boot sources and which needed #ifdef-ery in start.S
as it needed to be done really early on.

On my A10 OlinuxIno Lime I noticed a huge (5+ seconds) delay coming from
console_init_r. This turns out to be caused by the preconsole buffer flushing
to the cfb_console. The Lime only has a 16 bit memory bus and that is already
heavy used to scan out the 1920x1080 framebuffer.
The problem is that print_pre_console_buffer() was printing the buffer once
character at a time and the cfb_console code then ends up doing a cache-flush
for touched display lines for each character.
This commit fixes this by first building a 0 terminated buffer and then
printing it in one puts() call, avoiding unnecessary cache flushes.
This changes the time for the flush from 5+ seconds to not noticable.
The downside of this approach is that the pre-console buffer needs to fit
on the stack, this is not that much to ask since we are talking about plain
text here. This commit also adjusts the sunxi CONFIG_PRE_CON_BUF_SZ to
actually fit on the stack. Sunxi currently is the only user of the pre-console
code so no other boards need to be adjusted.

Now that the ohci code supports usb interrupt queues we can switch (back)
to using an usb interrupt queue for usb-kbd interrupt polling. This
greatly reduces u-boot's latency when dealing with usb keyboards.

This commit adds support for the OHCI companion controller, which makes
usb-1 devices directly plugged into to usb root port work.
Note for now this switches usb-keyboard support for sunxi back from int-queue
support to the old interrupt polling method. Adding int-queue support to the
ohci code and switching back to int-queue support is in the works.

Now that we've everything prepared for it remove the DM settings from the
defconfig(s) and simply always set them for sunxi.
This makes all sunxi boards allways use the driver model for gpios and
ethernet, and allows us to move over more bits to the driver-model without
the need to introduce #ifdef-ery for boards which are not yet using DM.

This is a preparation patch for switching all sunxi boards over to using
the driver model.
Note that rather then defining both CONFIG_DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE (for u-boot)
and CONFIG_FDTFILE (for the kernel), this commit simply replaces all
CONFIG_FDTFILE defconfig settings with CONFIG_DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE and
uses CONFIG_DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE for setting the default fdtfile env value
in sunxi-common.h .

Right now U-Boot supports the CONFIG_OLD_SUNXI_KERNEL_COMPAT option,
which makes it go out of its way in limiting the selection of PLL clock
frequencies and PMIC voltages in order not to upset outdated buggy
sunxi-3.4 kernel releases. And if the CONFIG_OLD_SUNXI_KERNEL_COMPAT
option is not set, then booting such old kernels exhibits various
failures at runtime. This is very user unfriendly, and there were
already several incidents when people wasted their time being hit
by these runtime failures and trying to debug them.
The right solution is not to add hacks and workarounds to the mainline
U-Boot, but to fix these bugs in the sunxi-3.4 kernel. And in fact,
the updated sunxi-3.4 kernels already exist. Still we need to follow
the 'Principle of Least Surprise' and U-Boot needs to ensure that
the old buggy kernels are not getting happily booted when the
CONFIG_OLD_SUNXI_KERNEL_COMPAT option is not set. And this patch
addresses this particular issue.
This patch makes U-Boot store the 'compatibility revision' number in
the top 4 bits of the machine id and pass it to the kernel. The old
buggy kernels will fail to load with a very much googlable error
message on the serial console (the "r1 = 0x100010bb" part of it):
"Error: unrecognized/unsupported machine ID (r1 = 0x100010bb)"
This error message can be documented in the linux-sunxi wiki with
proper explanations about how to resolve this situation and where
to get the necessary bugfixes for the sunxi-3.4 kernel.
The fixed sunxi-3.4 kernels implement a revision compatibility check
and clear the top 4 bits of the machine id if everything is alright.
By accepting the machine id with the bits 31:28 set to 1, the sunxi-3.4
kernel effectively certifies that it has the PLL5 clock speed and
AXP209 DCDC3 voltage fixes applied.
It is still possible to set the CONFIG_OLD_SUNXI_KERNEL_COMPAT option
in U-Boot if the user desires to use an outdated unpatched sunxi-3.4
kernel.

While discussing with some people how to get the Linux kernel to do the
right thing wrt sending output to both the serial console and the
hdmi out / lcd screen when booting on ARM devices, Grant Likely pointed out
that there already is a solution for this.
All we need to do is set the /chosen/stdout-path fdt property, and if no
console= arguments were specified on the kernel commandline the kernel
will honor this and add this device as a console (next to the primary
video output on hdmi).
And u-boot already has support for setting this, all we need to do is
define OF_STDOUT_PATH and then everything will just work ootb, without
people needing to meddle with adding console= arguments in extlinux.conf .

Make sunxi's FEL code fit with the normal U-Boot boot sequence instead of
creating its own. There are some #ifdefs required in start.S. Future work
will hopefully remove these.

Do not use CONFIG_SYS_MEM_TOP_HIDE for the framebuffer, instead override
board_get_usable_ram_top to make sure that u-boot is not relocated into the
area where we want to use the framebuffer, and patch the devicetree from
sunxi_simplefb_setup() to tell the kernel to not touch the framebuffer.
This makes u-boot properly see the framebuffer as dram, and initalize the
level 2 cache for it, fixing the very slow cfb scrolling problem.
As an added bonus this stops us from reserving the framebuffer when simplefb
is not used because an older kernel is booted, or hdp is used and no hdmi
cable was plugged in, freeing up the memory for kernel use in these cases.

We do not need i2c support in the SPL when there is no PMIC (some sun4i
boards), or when the PMIC is not using i2c such as on sun6i and sun8i.
This reduces the SPL size from (e.g.) 21812 to 19260 bytes.

2 recent sunxi changes have removed the usage of lowlevel_init by moving some
code around and then setting CONFIG_SKIP_LOWLEVEL_INIT.
This is problematic for 2 reasons:
1) It does not just stop s_init from being called, it also stops
cpu_init_cp15 from getting called, which is undesirable.
2) We want u-boot.bin to be usable standalone, without SPL, some people e.g.
use an upstream u-boot.bin together with Allwinner's boot0 loader. So
u-boot.bin must (re)initialize the gpios, timer, etc.
This commit restores the lowlevel_init / s_init usage, while keeping the
changes to no longer use the global-data (gd) struct in the SPL.

Before video output support can be enabled on the A13-OLinuXinoM, bootm_size
must first be reduced to take into account that the framebuffer is shaved of
the top of the DRAM. For other boards this is not an issue since bootm was set
to 256M and all boards have at least 512M except for the A13-OLinuXinoM.

Add support for the standard video-mode environment variable using the
videomodes.c video_get_ctfb_res_modes() helper function.
This will allow users to specify the resolution e.g. :

Also make the reserved fb mem slightly larger to allow 1920x1200 to work.

The CONFIG_UART0_PORT_F option has been supported since
http://git.denx.de/?p=u-boot.git;a=commit;h=ff2b47f6a9cc1025
This option is primarily useful only for low level u-boot debugging
on tablets, where normal UART0 is difficult to access and requires
device disassembly and/or soldering.
This patch now allows it to be selected from menuconfig. A dependency on
SPL_FEL is added because u-boot does not support booting from NAND yet
and also booting from SD card is impossible when a MicroSD breakout board
is plugged into the SD slot.
Additionally a compilation problem is fixed:

This adds a fixed mode hdmi driver for the sunxi platform. The fixed
mode is a relatively safe 1024x768, more complete EDID handling is
currently not provided. Only HDMI is supported today.
This code is enabled when HPD detects an attached monitor.
Current config is such that 8MB is shaved off at the top of the RAM.
This avoids several memory handling issues, most significant is the fact
that on linux on ARM you are not allowed to remap known RAM as IO. A
clued in display driver will be able to recycle this reserved RAM in
future though.
cfbconsole was chosen as it provides the most important functionality: a
working u-boot console, allowing for the debugging of certain issues
without the need for a UART.

Add a driver for the designware serial UART used on sunxi. This just
redirects to the normal ns16550 driver.
Add a stdout-path to the device tree so that the correct UART is chosen.

The A23 only has UART0 muxed with MMC0. Some of the boards we
encountered expose R_UART as a set of pads.

Allwinner SoCs provide uart0 muxed with mmc0, which can then be used
with a micro SD breakout board. On the A23, this is the only way to

BOOT_TARGET_DEVICES includes MMC unconditionally. This breaks when
CONFIG_CMD_MMC is not defined. Use a secondary macro to conditionally
include it when CONFIG_MMC is enabled, as we do for CONFIG_AHCI.
This is used when we want to use uart0 from port F, which conflicts
with mmc0.

CONFIG_SYS_HZ is always defined as 1000 in config_fallbacks.h
(but some boards still have redundant definitions).
This commit moves the definition and the document in README to
Kconfig. Since lib/Kconfig can assure that CONFIG_SYS_HZ is 1000,
the sanity check in lib/time.c should be removed.

config_distro_defaults.h which is include later will redefine CONFIG_CMD_NET,
drop the useless / meaningless undef of it.
While at also move the undef of CONFIG_CMD_FPGA up to directly under the
include of config_cmd_defaults.h, to make it clear that it overwrites

This enables the necessary clocks, in AHB0 and in PLL6_CFG. This is done
for sun7i only since I don't have access to any other sunxi platforms
with sata included.
The PHY setup is derived from the Alwinner releases and Linux, but is mostly
undocumented.
The Allwinner AHCI controller also requires some magic (and, again,
undocumented) DMA initialisation when starting a port. This is added under a
suitable ifdef.
This option is enabled for Cubieboard, Cubieboard2 and Cubietruck based on
contents of Linux DTS files, including SATA power pin config taken from the
DTS. All build tested, but runtime tested on Cubieboard2 and Cubietruck only.

We are about to switch to Kconfig in the next commit.
But there are something to get done beforehand.
In Kconfig, include/generated/autoconf.h defines boolean
CONFIG macros as 1.
CONFIG_SPL and CONFIG_TPL, if defined, must be set to 1.
Otherwise, when switching to Kconfig, the build log
would be sprinkled with warning messages like this:

Similar to the USB NIC found on OMAP5uEVM, PandaBoard and BeagleBoard-XM
boards, the sunxi SoCs have a NIC onboard without an embedded MAC address.
Just like the omap used on these boards, the sunxi SoCs do have a unique chip
id, in the form of the 128 bit SID register:

So mimick the BeagleBoard-XM board code (commit 548a64d8) and use the chip id
to generate a unique fixed MAC address.
We check for the SID not being all 0, since some early A20 batches
shipped without having there SID programmed.
Note we use specific parts of the 128 bits, since some parts indicate the
SoC family / revision, and thus are fixed. The algorithm for this was taken
from the linux-sunxi.org kernels.

Add support for the Allwinner A13 and A10s SoCs also know as the Allwinner
sun5i family, and the A13-OLinuXinoM A13 based and r7-tv-dongle A10s based
boards.
The only differences compared to the already supported sun4i and sun7i
families are all in the DRAM controller initialization:
-Different hcpr values
-Different MBUS settings
-Some other small initialization changes

The DMA code in sunxi_mmc.c is broken. mmc_trans_data_by_dma() allocates the
dma descriptors on the stack, and then exits while the dma transfer is in
progress, so the dma engine is reading stack memory which at that point may
be re-used. So far we've gotten away with this by luck, but recent u-boot
changes have shifted the stack start address by 16 bytes, which combined
with dma alignment now exposes this problem.
Since we end up just busy waiting for the dma engine anyway, this commit
fixes things by simply removing the dma code, resulting in smaller bug-free
code.

...I had thought that it was to support some other board which wasn't
being upstreamed right now, so eventually useful and harmless for now,
but I've just checked and it isn't actually used by any of the boards in
u-boot-sunxi.git. So rather than fix it to use #ifdef lets drop it.
