The power domain tree is not accepted by Linux Kernel upstream.
only a single pd node is used currently, as following:
pd: imx8qx-pd {
compatible = "fsl,imx8qm-scu-pd", "fsl,scu-pd";
#power-domain-cells = <1>;
};
So to migrate to use upstream linux dts, we also need a driver
to support this.
This patch is to support the new method, compared with legacy power
domain tree, it will be simpiler, because each device will
has resource id as power domain index, it will be directly passed
to scfw, and no need to let power domain build that tree. If multiple
power domain is needed, it is the dts node should has correctly power
domains entry added and sequence correct.

The current i.MX8 power domain driver is based on i.MX vendor
power domain tree which will retire later.
The Linux upstream use a single pd node for power domain driver,
and U-Boot will adopt that. When U-Boot i.MX8 dts synced with
Linux Kernel upstream and related driver ready, the legacy
driver will be removed.

TISCI protocol supports for enabling the device either with exclusive

There are certain devices which are exclusive to Linux context and
there are certain devices that are shared across different host contexts.

the power-domain cells to 2.
For keeping the DT backward compatibility intact, defaulting the

Add the power domain DM driver for i.MX8, that it depends on the DTB
power domain trees to generate the power domain provider devices. Users
need to add power domain trees with property "compatible = "nxp,imx8-pd";"
When power on a PD device, the driver will power on its ancestor PD
devices in power domain tree.
When power off a PD device, the driver will check its child PD devices
first. Only if all child PD devices are off, then power off the current PD
device. Then the driver checks sibling PD devices. If sibling PD devices
are off, then it will power off parent PD device.
There is no counter maintained in this driver, but a state to hold current
on/off state. So the request and free functions are empty.
The power domain implementation in i.MX8 DTB set the "#power-domain-cells"
to 0, so there is no ID binding with each PD device. We don't use "id"
variable in struct power_domain. At the same time, we have to set of_xlate
to empty to bypass standard of_xlate in uclass driver.

Some TI Keystone 2 and K3 family of SoCs contain a system controller
(like the Power Management Micro Controller (PMMC) on 66AK2G SoCs and
the Device Management and Security Controller on AM65x SoCs) that manage
the low-level device control (like clocks, resets etc) for the various
hardware modules present on the SoC. These device control operations are
provided to the host processor OS through a communication protocol
called the TI System Control Interface (TI SCI) protocol.
This patch adds a power domain driver that communicates to the system
controller over the TI SCI protocol for performing power management of
various devices present on the SoC. Various power domain functionalities
are achieved by the means of different TI SCI device operations provided
by the TI SCI framework.
This code is loosely based on the drivers/soc/ti/ti_sci_pm_domains.c
driver of the Linux kernel.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..()
prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename
the existing functions to avoid confusion.
In the end we will have:
1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree
2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only
3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only
All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call
either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use.
Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file.
