x86: qemu: Add a config for 64-bit U-Boot Add a new board config which uses 64-bit U-Boot. Supported features are the same as the other 64-bit board (Google Chromebook Link). It is a start for us to test 64-bit U-Boot easily without the need to access a real hardware. Note CONFIG_SPL_ENV_SUPPORT is required for QEMU 64-bit as without this the SPL build fails at the end. configs: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. I did not attempt to add more default values in and for now will leave that to maintainers. env: Finish migration of common ENV options - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. x86: Add an option to control the position of U-Boot The existing work-around for positioning U-Boot in the ROM when it actually runs from RAM still exists and there is not obvious way to change this. Add a proper Kconfig option to handle this case. This also adds a new bool property to indicate whether CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE exists. The intent is to allow u-boot in qemu to be maximally compatible with many boot methods without having to change the config. Previously, u-boot would only boot in a very limited set of circumstances where there was a /boot/vmlinuz on scsi 0:3 with no ramdisk. With this patch this becomes possible using the new Kconfig option CONFIG_BUILD_ROM. This option depends on CONFIG_X86 and is selected in qemu-x86_defconfig and qemu-x86_64_defconfig. spl: fix build failure with !CONFIG_SPL_PCI_SUPPORT Building U-Boot with CONFIG_PCI and CONFIG_DM_PCI enabled, but CONFIG_SPL_PCI_SUPPORT disabled, results in following linker error: lib/built-in.o: In function `fdtdec_get_pci_bar32': lib/fdtdec.c:305: undefined reference to `dm_pci_read_bar32' fdtdec.c:305:(.text.fdtdec_get_pci_bar32+0x24): relocation truncated to fit: R_AARCH64_CALL26 against undefined symbol `dm_pci_read_bar32' This is because reference to dm_pci_read_bar32() remains in lib/fdtdec.c while SPL build does not descend into drivers/pci directory in drivers/Makefile if CONFIG_SPL_PCI_SUPPORT is not enabled. Fix this by applying appropriate #define guards in lib/fdtdec.c. It looks like ns16550.c has the same problem, so fixed that too. To simplify this, CONFIG_SPL_PCI_SUPPORT is renamed to CONFIG_SPL_PCI (enables use of CONFIG_IS_ENABLED() macro). x86: qemu: Add a config for 64-bit U-Boot Add a new board config which uses 64-bit U-Boot. Supported features are the same as the other 64-bit board (Google Chromebook Link). It is a start for us to test 64-bit U-Boot easily without the need to access a real hardware. Note CONFIG_SPL_ENV_SUPPORT is required for QEMU 64-bit as without this the SPL build fails at the end. This is just a workaround as CONFIG_SPL_ENV_SUPPORT is not needed at all. common/built-in.o:(.data.env_htab+0xc): undefined reference to 'env_flags_validate' lib/built-in.o: In function `hsearch_r': lib/hashtable.c:380: undefined reference to 'env_callback_init' lib/hashtable.c:382: undefined reference to 'env_flags_init' make[1]: *** [spl/u-boot-spl] Error 1 Except those SPL options required by 64-bit, compared to 32-bit config, the following options are different: - CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN has to be increased to 0x1000 for SPL. - CONFIG_DEBUG_UART has to be included due to the weird issue. See TODO comments in arch/x86/cpu/x86_64/cpu.c:arch_setup_gd(). Once this issue gets fixed, debug uart can be optional. Convert CONFIG_SPI to Kconfig This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_SPI This partly involves updating code that assumes that CONFIG_SPI implies things that are specific to the MPC8xx SPI driver. For now, just update the CONFIG tests. This also involves reworking the default for CONFIG_SYS_DEF_EEPROM_ADDR so that we don't set it when we cannot make a reasonable default, as it does not cause any compile failures. x86: qemu: Change default vesa mode to 1024x768x32 The default vesa mode was changed since commit 55b4e1b7d999 ("x86: Change default FRAMEBUFFER_VESA_MODE of some boards") for better VxWorks compatibility but with the changes QEMU video console no longer works. This is because QEMU's vgabios implements the VESA mode 8:8:8 as 24bpp without an alpha channel, which U-Boot's video console driver currently does not support yet. We need change to real 32bpp in order to make it work again. QEMU vgabios implements the custom 32bpp VESA mode starting from 0x140 (320x200x32) to 0x147 (1600x1200x32). Set it to 0x144 (1024x768x32).
